Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5233: To Leave Or Not?

”Brother Davis,” Jaiyan started with a light chuckle as he took the forefront, ”We have finally achieved what we have set out to do, and even managed to bring about the Golden Era. So, to not screw it up with our divergence, we need to leave from this realm.”

”Naturally,” Davis nodded, ”Our plan was also to quickly leave the realm once we’re done with the mission. There are no changes to that.”

”I see...” Jaiyan was taken aback but nodded.

He glanced at senior sister Qiyra Darkstar, wondering why she said he decided to stay stubbornly.

However, Davis’s next few words left him speechless.

”I’ll take a step out of the realm and re-enter. This way, there wouldn’t be any falsehood in my words. As for you all, you’re free to tag along with me or return. I would prefer my allies protecting the base while I’m out there collecting resources for our future breakthroughs. I still have to fulfill all my promises to you, don’t I?”

”You-” Jaiyan clenched his fist as he said, ”Even if this is the Golden Era, it will take time for the resources you want to sprout. Resources above the Exalt Grade very rarely appear in the Upper Realms, and even if they appear, they are severely contested by the realm ruler, but since there’s no realm ruler, it would be like a bunch of hyenas gathering. There would be severe bloodshed, and they would gain the rightful reason to murder you since you would be infringing on their benefits. Then, even the Celestial Transcendent will take part after making it clear that you didn’t scram, so he has gained the right to seal you since you went against his words.”

”Are you worried for me, brother Jaiyan? I’m grateful.”

Davis cupped his hands, appearing so stubborn that Jaiyan finally understood why his senior sister said what she said.

He raised his hand and pointed at Davis, but no words came out.

He didn’t think he could convince someone with an Enigmatic Will unless he started using his accursed tongue, but even then, it was doubtful.

”Forget it, you do what you do, but this time around, I’ll be bringing Laphria back home,” Jaiyan said strongly.

He felt the need to protect Laphria more than ever, so he couldn’t endanger her like before. The Celestial Transcendent had seen their fighting style, so it was more than likely that he had already formulated a counter in mind to quickly subdue them.

”It’s time we left your family’s grounds as we return to our master, so we wouldn’t be of much help.” Fairy Qiyra Darkstar added, her voice as cold as ever.

”...” Davis blinked.

He knew it would come to this one day, but this sudden departure made him wonder if they were forcing him back to go back to his home or simply because they wanted to return to their master, whom they had been apart from for a long time now.

After all, their promise to Saintess Lunaria was that they would help Davis survive the onslaught after his tribulation and return, but they had overstayed since he invited them as guests.

He invited them because he wanted to thank them but also have powerful allies to protect his family.

After all, most of them were at the layer limit.

But he wasn’t worried anymore since his family also had enough Exalts to protect themselves from invasion.

Illumina was already at the near layer limit, while Melluca, Rioxys Plume, Velvetmoon, Lereza, Pia, and Starcy were all more or less powerful Exalts.

Wisteria also broke through today, so she would be of great help.

Soon, Natalya would also break through, and when she became a Divine Exalt and uses his power, she would be extremely powerful.

Perhaps she had already broken through because he had sensed his Will flicker with manifestations of Natalya while he was comprehending Enigmatic Heart Law Techniques. He could only view it in his periphery senses since he was fully focused, so it was vague and blurry, making him think he was hallucinating.

There’s also a chance Niera’s spirit, Reignisia, and even Nightveil had broken through to the Exalt Spirit Stage.

Spirits were always faster than humans when it came to cultivation and didn’t need a manual, so they were incredibly powerful forces of nature and great allies if they decided to help humans, when they usually don’t. At the Exalt Spirit Stage, they could even make holy grounds pertaining to their attribute, allowing many lifeforms to gain advantage in comprehending Laws.

Only Calypsea suffered from a slow cultivation rate since she didn’t have enough apocalyptic flames to fuel her cultivation, but even then, she was still faster than most humans.

He imagined Vereina, Epsila, and a few other allies weren’t far off from breaking to the Exalt Stage either.

All things considered, he felt his family was safe enough at the moment unless beings at the layer limit found the sanctuary.

Davis cupped his hands, ”Alright, I understand. Send my regards to your master. Tell her I will personally come to her and help her gain the treasure she needs to have after I’m done with these things.”

”...”

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar frowned, ”I promised master to get you to safety, so I can’t leave you here. Don’t make me have to knock you out to take you back.”

”...”

Davis went flabbergasted.

He glanced at the Temporal Voidplane Ring on her finger, making him know he had screwed up. She might just take the others hostage and force him to return. After all, this was her flying palace. She had control over the formations.

”Fairy Qiyra Darkstar, I’m afraid you misunderstood me. I am not remaining here to flaunt my power and shower in my newfound reputation. I need to get allies who are willing to support the non-Divergents of the Davis Family. I need to obtain resources for our future breakthroughs so we can survive. I have less than seven days to take advantage of the ceasefire. Only I, Illumina, and Handsome Fatty will remain here. The rest should leave with you, so I hope you could safely get them to my family’s sanctuary.”

Davis made a soft expression as he spoke with calm and conviction.

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar’s expression never changed, but the others seemed to understand his plight.

”Then tell me how you plan to escape after the seven days without me?” She coldly asked.

”...”

Davis paused. Truthfully, he had no idea.

Their escape plan after rendezvous had always hinged on Fairy Qiyra Darkstar for her ability to travel amidst the stars using her spatial-astral energy.

Her physique allowed her to transform into an astral energy lifeform, making her extremely fast.

The Temporal Voidplane Ring could allow them to travel far distances, but it wasn’t to the level where Fairy Qiyra Darkstar simply turned into an astral shooting star. Besides, it was still a Low-Level Exalt Grade replica, its full potential yet to be unearthed.

It barely managed to suppress him and the Celestial Transcendent in its spacetime storage space.

Just as he was about to honestly tell her that he would create a way, a spirit appeared between them, her crystalline hair swaying as she spun mid-air and stopped before him.

”Master, master~” Epsila echoed, ”Have you forgotten my ability to search for treasures? After I connected with the Ethereal Lumina Tree’s Will, I managed to glimpse where all the World Hegemon Grade treasures are sprouting!”

”Really...!?”

Davis’s eyes widened.

He had totally forgotten about Epsila’s innate ability since she had taken the Gilded Realm Ascendant Pill, which was made from a Realm Core. She could detect heavenly treasures if they appeared nearby, but it turned out she was able to locate all the treasures when she had managed to glimpse the entire realm when she connected with the Ethereal Lumina Tree’s Will.

He imagined that those World Hegemon Grade treasures were glowing so brightly that it was hard to miss them.

His pupils turned from shock to elation as he smiled.

”Great, great! I thought I would need to go around and diligently find them, but since you already know, you can also stay with me.”

”Yay~”

Epsila cheered as she threw her hands high.

She wanted to always stay with Davis when he said he would take care of her, so she didn’t want to leave him.

”...”

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar frowned.

She was about to say that he wouldn’t be able to find any World Hegemon Grade Treasures, especially ones that have matured, much less ones that have just begun sprouting and would need millions or billions of years of natural growth to mature.

Even if he claimed that he could increase the rate of growth along with the Golden Era’s blessings, how fast could it be?

Seven days wasn’t enough!

However, with this pill spirit claiming that she knew where the World Hegemon Grade treasures were sprouting, she felt forced to reconsider.

Perhaps if Epsila could find mature World Hegemon Grade treasures that have luckily not been found by the realm’s denizens, including heavenly resources that were barely away from maturing but have been suddenly blessed by the Golden Era, then they could indeed harvest more than three World Hegemon Grade treasures in seven days.

A chance like this was indeed a golden opportunity that might never fall again.
