Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5229: Retreating From The Realm?

Davis felt all three of his cultivations were at a stable level, perhaps thanks to him dropping two levels and falling into the Level Five Empyrean Stage. It was incredibly firm. Although he wouldn’t call it flawless since he did need to improve the manuals, he didn’t sense any major flaws either, although he was afraid that the desolation of his essence energy might really make his seeds desolate.

Fortunately, he had always channeled his chaos and life martial energy to his family jewels, so there shouldn’t be any problem with his seeds suddenly going barren.

Thinking his cultivation was in a good state, he stepped out from meditation, kept the replicas back inside, and jumped out of the bed.

He reached out his hand and ruffled Lereza’s hair, ”Thanks for watching over me when I was vulnerable. I deeply appreciate it.”

Lereza smirked, ”The others are waiting outside in the main hall.”

Davis nodded.

He turned to look back at Evelynn, who was still sleeping, before walking out.

Like previously, Illumina stood before the door as she leaned on the wall.

Seeing him appear, she immediately rejoiced as her bunny ears flipped open, ”Master, are you fine?”

Davis spread his hands, ”As you can see-”

*Whoosh~*

Davis didn’t even get to brag before Illumina pounced on him and hugged him deeply, her shoulders quivering.

”...”

Davis was at a loss, but he quickly understood that this foolish rabbit felt responsible for him exploding into a bloody mess after the Desolate Crystal mixed with his Essence Gathering Cultivation Physique. He hugged her back and stroked her fine black-white hair strands.

”Honestly, you’re stern to a fault. You successfully protected me. Just because I died once when you were there doesn’t mean you failed to protect me. Besides, I exploded from practicing cultivation and not receiving an attack from an enemy.”

He held her up and pulled on her cheeks as he gazed at her terrifying yet teary eyes.

”You think of yourself as being that extraordinary to protect me from my own cultivation?”

”...!” Illumina hummed as she shook her head.

Davis still pulled on her cheeks, ”Then why are you feeling sad? We achieved great success in both our missions. You should be extremely happy. Now, smile.”

”Mashta~”

Illumina forced a smile as though she didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

She really did feel responsible that he had let him die while she was just above on the flying palace, waiting for him to finish his cultivation. If others hadn’t convinced her that the Heaven’s Warriors didn’t interfere, she really would’ve gone and picked apart a few heads from them.

”Good.”

Davis liked this expression from her. He could tell her emotions were no longer purely those of loyalty, as it transcended to affection.

Only he knew how difficult it would be to get a magical beast to experience love since it took a long time for him to change Nadia’s view of love. After all, magical beasts don’t concern themselves with mutual affection, especially wild magical beasts. For them, as long as the scent of the other party could arouse desire, they would be inclined to mate.

Nadia’s first desire towards him wasn’t even to mate with him but to eat.

He still laughed whenever he thought about that.

Nonetheless, that was why he was also shocked to hear that Illumina had forgone the opportunity to be with a King-Tier Spectral Gloomveil Rabbit back then when she was strengthening herself in the Nether Dimension. That kind of magical beast should, in all honestly be able to invoke her desire to mate and give birth since an Empress would still look somewhat well upon a King, yet she remained absolutely loyal to him, choosing to kill that King-Tier Spectral Gloomveil Rabbit and offending many clans of the Spectral Gloomveil Rabbits in an attempt to get stronger so she could help him when the time comes.

Her loyalty never ceased to amaze him, but it also made him afraid that he might not be able to make her love him back when he finally held her on the bed, but it looks like he didn’t need to worry about it anymore.

Their bond had definitely improved after he constantly told her that he loved her and even said that she was one of his wives. Their emotions started to run deep as they stared into each other’s eyes, except Illumina was more glad that he was still alive and well without any surface or inner injuries.

She didn’t know what she would do without him since she had already pledged her life towards him as a warrior, but now, she was aware that those emotions were far beyond what a warrior should have.

”You’re awake.”

Just as they felt like they were going to kiss, Fairy Qiyra Darkstar’s voice echoed from the hallway.

Illumina instantly sprang back like a rabbit and disappeared into the shadows, leaving Davis holding nothing.

Davis wanted to tease Fairy Qiyra Darkstar that she had startled a rabbit and caused it to escape from his wicked grasp, but he didn’t want her to misunderstand his seriousness over their current situation. He turned to look at her as he moved his hands back.

”Is everyone safe and sound?”

”Yes, all are on board. However, Fairy Divinacia and my juniors brother and junior sister are still injured. I need you to heal them if you are fine.”

”Right on my way.”

Davis could already sense the urgency from Fairy Qiyra Darkstar through her tone when she interrupted. He gestured towards her, and they both made their way to the main hall before going to the other end and opening a door leading to a chamber unit.

He found Laphria Rinmei curled up beside Jaiyan, who seemed to be suffering from a feverish state.

Davis didn’t find it strange considering that they had both endured the backlash from attacking the Heaven’s Will.

He quickly went up to them and started using his life energy to heal them after he took out the black-white stone.

The pure gray-white life energy rolled across them like clouds, washing over their agony with a peaceful expression.

Davis couldn’t believe they guarded him for so many hours while they were suffering inwardly. He made a mental note and surged with more life energy, and even persistently tried to heal their Wills, if that was even possible.

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar’s frowning gaze eventually relaxed a bit.

During fights, they would be in a tense state, but once they relaxed, all the injuries that had accumulated would overwhelm them. This would be the same if they had hit their limit while in a battle. She knew her fellow junior disciples had paid a heavy price to help Davis overturn the Desolate Era, but the pills they had prepared were ineffective against the injuries.

Even if their bodies healed, their bloodsoul essence was affected by the Heaven’s Will, disallowing it to be regenerated, while it also seemed like their Wills had taken a hit.

Soon, Davis was done with their treatment.

”How is it?” Fairy Qiyra Darkstar asked, her cold voice sounding worried.

”I managed to restore their bloodsoul essence to ninety-seven percent from eighty percent or so. Their Wills have been corroded by the backlash, but give it enough time, Jaiyan should be able to recover naturally in due time, but not Laphria, who is weaker in Will. But don’t worry. I took care of that.”

”You found a way to heal Wills...?” Fairy Qiyra Darkstar asked, feeling a bit incredulous.

Davis shook his head, ”I merely guided their truesoul essence to their Wills faster to accelerate the natural regeneration of the Will. It will take time for them to recover their Wills, but it shouldn’t make their souls feverish or numb anymore.”

He smiled wryly, ”This reminds me that I need to create Will defense techniques yet again.”

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar looked at him with a complicated gaze. He simply said that he guided their truesoul essence, but the theory behind it and the obscure procedure of extracting truesoul from the soul were something beyond her.

She realized that his comprehension wasn’t simply a result of his reincarnation physique but also his own studies into the seven physical souls and three spiritual souls. Without nearing that concept, one cannot tamper with truesouls.

”How is Fairy Divinacia?” Davis asked.

”She fainted shortly after that incident, so we hid her in the twilight-illusory space. She’s resting in the opposite chamber.”

”Alright, I’ll go heal her. Then we’ll talk about your decision to leave this realm.”

Davis uttered before he walked out of the chamber.

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar frowned. What was there to talk about? Once they were done, they needed to leave. It was literally the plan. Any dreams of conquering the realm were folly. If their enemies gathered, they might be able to kill tens of layer limit experts before getting sealed inevitably.

It was always how it went for any foe that challenged the Celestial Transcendent- eventually. They need to retreat while they had the chance, considering the Heaven’s Warriors were following their flying palace relentlessly.

And since the Celestial Transcendent had declared the Davis Family’s non-Divergents innocent and cannot be persecuted for having Divergents in the family, what was the problem in Davis just sending his descendants alone?

”What a good yet troublesome child.”

Fairy Glacia Frigidveil stepped out from the mirror in the chamber before turning to look at her senior sister.

”You can leave with the others, senior sister. I’ll stay with him to make sure that he doesn’t get sealed.”

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar shot a cold gaze at her, ”We overstayed. We need to get back to our master”

”...”
