Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5202: Not Yet

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar kept a firm gaze on Davis’s movements as she watched him battle the Celestial Transcendent all alone.

His scythes pressured the supreme ruler’s avatar into retreating. With him being elusive, it became harder for the other party to attack him. But eventually, his body gave up. His self-proclaimed Grand Chaos Ghost Body seemed to be no longer capable of processing the death energy from the white stone replica because it had reached its limit.

Then, they conversed for a bit before Davis’s body exploded.

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar’s gaze flickered.

’Not yet...’ She told herself.

And as expected, Davis came back to life from death, making her recall.

[The plan indeed relies on me to die, die, and keep dying. However, I would never die for real because the layer limit, even for Realm Masters, called the absolute layer limit, which allows them to reach near Level Three Hierarch Stage, wouldn’t be able to stop me from reviving. This- I’m confident in due to my Will being nearly at the level of a Level One World Hegemon while carrying the reincarnation aspect that allows me to cling to life, perhaps as long as I have the strong Will to live. I call this phenomenon Life Clasping Will.]

His words uttered back then under the chandelier where she and the others sat and heard out about his plan held true, making her clenched fists relax.

He really was undying. Even hit with a terrifying karmic attack of his own making, he still didn’t die.

Was this why he wasn’t afraid of death? Was this why he could fight against the Celestial Transcendent without faltering?

She couldn’t understand.

Even if Davis wasn’t afraid of death, wasn’t he afraid of being sealed? How could he trust her like this and fight without doubting that she would flee if things got too difficult?

*Bang!~*

A punch from the Celestial Transcendent eradicated Davis again, making her fingers quiver, causing him to die for the third time, but it was the second time in succession without him trying to go back to his fleshly body.

She knew what this meant. The plan had started.

’Not yet...’ She said to herself once again.

Davis reformed from the dead again and fled.

The Celestial Transcendent seemed focused and also terrifying as he descended on Davis, trying to seal him with strange life energy that seemed to have an offensive aspect to it.

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar couldn’t stop her heart from pounding over the intense exchange.

She knew even with his full strength, Davis’s base prowess in his Soul Forging Cultivation allowed him to almost reach the Level Seven Exalt Stage. That was a full increase of prowess by twenty-four or twenty-five levels, which was in itself unthinkable for any single person to have that kind of power.

Perhaps, such power could be obtained when one was the core of a battle formation, but just generating that kind of prowess by themselves?

She didn’t think even the Celestial Transcendent was this powerful in his youth.

Still, even while Davis was this strong, she couldn’t see Davis winning. Level Seven Exalt simply wasn’t enough when the ones who needed to be defeated were at the layer limit, and layer limit experts’ true prowess was somewhere between Level Seventeen and Level Eighteen Exalt Stage.

Even with the white-black stone that seemingly raised his prowess to Level Ten Exalt Stage, she still couldn’t envision his victory.

And as expected, the Celestial Transcendent caught Davis as he died for the third time. Davis let out a strange cry of terror, which was the signal they had agreed upon because she couldn’t be sure if he was acting or was truly in danger.

’Now~’

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar flipped herself from unreal to real as she exited the illusory world of Laphria Rinmei. With a wave of her hand, she took a soul essence belonging to Davis and used Twilight Laws and Space Laws in tandem.

*Whoosh!~*

The mere soul essence floating above her palm switched positions with the truesoul before the truesoul could get frozen by the Celestial Transcendent’s strange ice energy.

When she saw the truesoul wisp in her hand, Fairy Qiyra Darkstar evidently felt relaxed in mind, but her muscles didn’t stop being tense. The Celestial Transcendent’s senses locked her, determined to not let her leave again.

However, she had the broken replica in her other hand.

[Yes, even if your replica hasn’t recovered in time, it doesn’t matter. The Heaven’s Warriors know it allowed you to fight above the layer limit. Just bringing it out alone would be enough for people or even the Celestial Transcendent to stay their hands as we get a few seconds of reprieve, enough for me to continue.]

His words uttered back then at the meeting table once again resounded true.

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar gazed at the ring in her hand. It appeared slender, dark, and deceptively plain. There were no gemstones or inscriptions visible to the eye. Furthermore, there were numerous cracks on the surface and even on the gem holder.

However, it undoubtedly contained the aura of light and darkness within it, quickly revealing its unique nature.

As she kept the obviously broken-looking replica out, the Celestial Transcendent didn’t quickly make a move. Furthermore, it seemed like he was waiting for his avatars to arrive to take them on.

Just as they finished talking about the ’slight’ change in plan, two more avatars of the Celestial Transcendent descended.

However, one directly shot into the abyssal cavity.

Davis and Fairy Qiyra Darkstar’s expressions quivered.

The Celestial Transcendent was intent on recovering the Stormheart Incarnation Prism.

’Too late though...’

Davis reformed into his Ghost Will form as he hovered in the air, his pitch-black scythe poised to swing at the slightest spark. He appeared more like a wraith than a ghost, with his lower body nearly missing.

He descended towards the Celestial Transcendent in the front while unleashing his aura.

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar attempted to leave by hiding within the illusory world created by Laphria Rinmei, which was also hidden by her twilight, but the Celestial Transcendent who blocked her path from behind attempted to stop her.

However, she disappeared like she didn’t even exist, making the Celestial Transcendent’s gaze widen before narrowing, knowing it wouldn’t be that easy to deal with an Omega Exalt Divergent. If she wanted to escape, he would be hard-pressed to capture her, especially with that ring-like replica of the Necklace of Light and Darkness in her hand.

He wanted to curse as to where these Divergents were supposedly getting these replicas. The human race also had a lot of replicas, but he wouldn’t say no if they were to get more. After all, the galaxy also needed them for better protection.

He had also brought quite a few replicas, but they were scattered throughout the other Upper Realms with his other avatars. However, he guessed the Divine Emperor of Death and his Divergent allies wouldn’t stay here for long.

Their actions in the Galaxy Wormhole Battlefield also made him scrunch his brows.

Was this brat trying to escape to the other side? That was foolish, considering the news that the Hell Hydra Monarch was on the other side of the Galaxy Wormhole would’ve been publicized. The Divine Emperor of Death seemed like he planned so much. Surely, he wouldn’t make a stupid mistake?

So he was really there to close the Galaxy Wormhole using his own methods?

”You’re not taking this fight seriously, are you?”

The Celestial Transcendent sighed as he gazed at Davis appear in front of him, hovering barely a few meters away.

”I’m taking this fight very seriously. It’s just- if you can’t seal me, don’t bother trying to get to my allies. I will go berserk and make sure everyone dies along with me.”

Davis coldly laughed as a wraith, his voice giving everyone in this battlefield the chills.

”That depends on whether this ally of yours continues to interfere or not.”

The Celestial Transcendent took a battle pose as he took a step forward, raised one hand to his chin, and the other hand beside his waist as chaotic gauntlets appeared in his hand.

”Good instincts.” Davis’s voice echoed.

He moved like a specter using the Hateless Ghost Emperor Steps, leaving behind ghostly afterimages in his wake. He nearly arrived at the same instant and slashed the pitch-black scythe blade. It was aimed right at the Celestial Transcendent’s forehead, causing him to block it with his gauntlets.

The Celestial Transcendent’s gaze was unamused.

What was this brat trying to pull when his prowess hadn’t at all increased from Level Ten Exalt Stage?

Another curving slash came at him from a sickle from the side as Davis’s arm swung like a snake, causing him to use his other hand’s gauntlet and block.

”...!”

However, it suddenly overpowered him and nearly pierced through his brain as his soul felt cold, barely stopping inches before piercing his head.

Level Thirteen Exalt Stage!

*Clang!*

The Celestial Transcendent deflected the two curved blades of the sickle and scythe and punched out at Davis, the chaotic wave causing space to collapse as it swept through the Ghost Will.

*Fssh~*

The Ghost Will abruptly split into many versions of itself as Davis switched from using the Hateless Ghost Emperor Steps to using the Voidroach Blackcurse Movement Art’s Voidroach Darkshade Steps, Hundred Voidroach Scatter Technique. This time, nearly fifty versions of him spread around the shattered space. They couldn’t be swallowed by the cracks and fissures even as spatial storms emerged.

The third Celestial Transcendent’s avatar also descended while the fourth Celestial Transcendent’s avatar was still looking for the Stormheart Incarnation Prism. As for the first Celestial Transcendent’s avatar, it was still sealed in the Stormheart Incarnation Prism.

The second and third Celestial Transcendent’s avatar quickly ganged up on Davis, trying to kill him as they engaged in a tumultuous rush.
