Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5203: Three Phenomena Of Ghost Will Rebirth

Chaotic fists rumbled and fought scythe intent imbued with Enigmatic Heart Laws as innumerable slashes left space in utter destruction. The cracks, fissures, spiral devouring space vortexes, all appeared to not even stitch back as the remnant aura of the scythe intent left in them made it difficult to heal

*Bang!~*

It didn’t take long. Barely five seconds, and hundreds of moves were exchanged.

Davis was crushed by the two Celestial Transcendent avatars as they pressed on from two sides with chaotic shields. They held their palms out to the sides, slowly lowering them.

When the chaotic shields receded, they saw his wisp.

However, one of them took out a chaotic bow and arrow and aimed at Fairy Qiyra Darkstar, who could appear at any moment. The other one quickly moved to seal Davis in.

At that moment, Fairy Qiyra Darkstar appeared.

However, there were thousands of them, all surrounding the skies as they had descended from the heavens themselves.

The Celestial Transcendent’s pupils quivered as he felt it was impossible to predict which one was the true body at this singular moment, so he could only wait for the strange spatial-twilight transfer to happen to trace it back. At the same time, the other Celestial Transcendent’s avatar, heading to seal Davis, changed strategies, using his chaotic energy to summon azure-gold life energy.

He punched out, intending to badly damage Davis’s Will in one move.

*Bang!~*

His fist hit the wisp, but it abruptly felt like he had hit an immovable metal, causing his pupils to also dilate.

”Surprised?”

Davis’s head quickly reformed, his face blossoming from the wisp first with the same old wicked and annoying grin.

’Shattered Soul Rebirth.’ Davis thought in his mind, having conscious control of the process of his revival.

He knew that in this phenomenon, which he named Shattered Soul Rebirth, what happens is that upon death, the soul is revived in the form of a Ghost Will in the first phase, and the body recovers in the second phase, which also works in tandem with his Chaotic Genesis Physique, but that was unneeded.

Nonetheless, Davis had essentially disabled the second phase, not reclaiming his physical body as he continued to be a Ghost Will specter.

He crawled out from the wisp as a Ghost Will again, appearing like an undying monster, leaving Celestial Transcendent truly speechless.

He had the uncanny feeling that Davis’s prowess had not only increased, but his Will had also improved even at this state. What was that supposed to mean? Did that mean his Will was now comparable to a Mid-Level World Hegemon...?

Using his chaotic energy, he could no longer even harm the Will with his wife’s life energy? How about even chipping it?

Davis didn’t look fazed at all!

Seeing the expressionless face of the Celestial Transcendent, Davis nearly wanted to spill the secrets of his Ghost Will Rebirth as he thought.

’Life Clasping Will.’

After countless hours of research into his Will and undergoing nine reincarnations with the help of Myria, Davis determined that his reincarnation Will was truly undying. He believed it was a Will that never ceases to exist after death unless that particular space where he died is erased out of existence or his rebirth wisp was corroded with a unique soul or Will erasing ability.

After all, he knew everything had a counter. He didn’t think he was above everything.

But the truly scary one was the third phenomenon that occurs during his rebirth.

Davis fully reformed into the Ghost Will form again as he took out his scythe and rested it over his shoulder.

”What? You look like you have seen a ghost. Surprised that my overall prowess is at Level Fourteen Exalt Stage now?”

The Celestial Transcendent’s gaze flickered, ”Your rebirths improve your prowess not just once but again and again? You were suppressing your prowess intentionally?”

Davis grinned, ”It’s too late.”

*Rippp!*

The Celestial Transcendent instantaneously responded to Davis’s move.

It was the same old scythe slash aimed at his forehead as though Davis couldn’t learn that it would work, but Davis wasn’t stupid, so the only possible explanation was that he was mocking him.

He moved his hand above, blocking the pitch-black blade with his gauntlet.

However, he dodged at the last moment as the gauntlet and wrist were cleanly sliced through as though it was tofu before sinking into his shoulder instead of his forehead from the last-minute movement he made.

From his left shoulder to his abdomen, a deep, bloody gash was ripped open by the pitch-black scythe.

*Bang!~*

Davis let go of the scythe and turned around to slash at the arrow with the sickle he simultaneously created in his other hand.

Both the chaotic arrow and the deathly sickle’s blade were destroyed, shattering like glass.

But at that moment, the other Celestial Transcendent saw it.

The Divine Emperor of Death’s spectral forehead was being burned- imprinted with the mark of a purple-black nine-petaled lotus. It appeared right in the center of his brows, bringing along with it an unholy aura that made even his chaotic soul quiver.

It was especially ridiculous when he recognized this mark since it belonged to a particular Supreme!

Nonetheless, the most ridiculous thing was that the Divine Emperor of Death’s prowess was right now- at the layer limit again!

The Celestial Transcendent, who had a big gash cleaved open in his body, staggered back with a hint of pain, his expression barely flickering, but blood flowed out in copious amounts. The wound wasn’t healing quickly either, as the scythe’s blade left a deep imprint of Scythe Intent and Heart Intent’s Will control, their combination appearing to be simply terrifying.

Davis touched his forehead, feeling that the Mark of Samsara was different. Wasn’t it gold in color? How come it was purple-black now? Did summoning it as a Ghost Will interfere with its origin?

He felt confused, but didn’t let it stop him from smirking like the victor.

Thanks to the Celestial Transcendent repeatedly killing him, not only had his prowess increased, but also his Will had improved beyond its original state, unlike using the white stone replica when he battled the Celestial Transcendent at the layer limit before.

’Vehement Ghost Awakening.’ Davis thought as he recalled the third phenomenon of his rebirth.

In this phenomenon, he knew each death as a ghost improves his prowess until Shattered Soul Rebirth’s second phase is achieved. He could instinctively feel that to help him revive fully, the soul would keep getting stronger with each death. This was now confirmed in this battle. However, he never expected every three deaths to result in increasing the power of his Will, allowing the wisp to keep him in this world and reviving him nearly endlessly.

He felt like a cheat, but unless someone at the High-Level Hierarch Stage could pulverize him or something that could counter him was used, Davis was vehemently wallowing in the sensation that he was as unbeatable right now, nearly wanting to burst out laughing like a villain.

”I died four times subsequently, so that’s a direct increase to my prowess by four levels, but too bad...”

Davis brought out the black-white stone, chuckling wickedly, ”My soul is fused with this replica, accidentally also causing it to upgrade and improve in the prowess it provided me, and by the time you realize my soul and Will’s prowess are increasing, I have this to rely on...”

He tapped the Mark of Samsara on his forehead, his lips curling as far as his ears, ”It’s a strange mark that increases my prowess by three levels higher. You seem to recognize it. Why don’t you let me know what it could be?”

”...”

”...”

”...”

The Celestial Transcendent, the Heaven’s Warriors, the Exalt and Primarch Stage cultivators, and even the undead who suddenly felt scared by that mark were all affected by this abrupt change in the situation.

The only one who was completely relaxed was Fairy Qiyra Darkstar, whose thousands of illusory-twilight clones disappeared as she hid herself. She didn’t make a move this time.

Her main role in this fight was simple- harass the Celestial Transcendent from killing Davis until the former spits out blood in rage and comes at her without reason or concern- at least, that was what Davis said at that time. He told them that by the time the Celestial Transcendent knew the nature of his rebirths, everything would’ve fallen in place for their plan to succeed and have a high success rate, with the only blockade being Heaven’s Will.

This was when they were still in the sanctuary, so this was before obtaining the white stone replica!

As Fairy Qiyra Darkstar took a breath of desolate air, her figure disappeared into the twilight, a smile finally appearing on her lips, with high confidence emanating from her bearing and aura.

The ridiculous plan Davis had concocted and even modified no longer appeared to be ridiculous!
