Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5227: Looming Dangers From Two Sides

”Let’s see...” The Sky Word Emperor entered a contemplative mode, ”I sacrificed myself of my own accord and plans after making that brat who picked another cultivation method over the immortal method the successor, and I don’t particularly need anything since I’m long dead, but I am curious about my innumerable descendants. Ah, forget it. I shouldn’t be interested in the living, or I’ll risk karmic burden upon them. I also sealed a few Anarchic Divergents outside the Three Layers. I’d like to see if their seals are still in place, but I can’t send you, an Anarchic Divergent, there. Forget it.”

He kept waving his hand dismissively with each thought and utterance and then began summoning a rune out of thin air.

[IMPOSE]

”The greatest rune there is for an Enigmatic Heart Law user, but at the same time, capable of being used for many abilities. Within this rune are the basic and advanced techniques of Enigmatic Heart Laws I have created. It’ll directly imprint itself onto your soul, allowing you to instantly learn them as though you have practiced many times. You might find many variants spread throughout the Greater Realm, but most of it came from me since I was the eleventh to reach the State of Divine Possession, but the first to reclaim my original self after losing myself in its corruption. Considering you appear firm, I’ll give this to you. Whether you dare accept this or not is not my concern. I’ll leave it here.”

The Sky Word Emperor lowered his hand and then looked away, his spectral body slowly dispersing.

”Perhaps you can learn something about my descendants before the time you decide to refine the desolate heavenly spacetime strand and awaken me a second time.”

Davis gazed at the rune before returning his gaze, ”What’s your family’s name?”

He was also interested in learning the other party’s name.

”...”

However, the Sky Word Emperor’s expression became blank. He started disappearing into motes of light before a wry voice echoed out.

”I don’t know. I had made too many mistakes to count by the time I reclaimed my original heart.”

”...”

Davis’s lips parted lightly.

Just how many women did this old Emperor corrupt?

He remained dumbfounded for a few moments before he sensed Fallen Heaven appear by his side, which could only mean that the Sky Word Emperor’s Will was completely gone.

Davis’s gaze turned complex.

So the Sky Word Emperor wasn’t really here to do anything other than destroy the Being of Original Sin or seal it? This kind of duty towards the universe- could he ever strive to reach it?

He didn’t think so, since he felt no obligation to something that constantly hunted him down. The Heavenly Water Tribulation from the heavens and the Heavenly Life Tribulation from the universe were the only things that made him somewhat look well upon this world and make him feel a sense of belonging other than his sense of belonging with his wives.

In fact, he just wanted to resurrect the World Master, help her perfect her universe, and live there instead!

But could things go so smoothly?

He glanced at Fallen Heaven’s spirit, which was in the form of a black-and-white sphere.

”What do you think? Is this rune safe? What about the moon gates? Any changes?”

Fallen Heaven responded in a childish tone of an infant artifact spirit, ”The rune doesn’t seem to be hostile from what I can sense without using my fate divination ability, but I wouldn’t put it past a ruler to spare you. As for the moon gates, there have been no changes. That entity or them- they’re really keeping silent and hiding themselves well from me. It’s really strange. How come I don’t know about them, even after scouring your fate from your beginning from Myria? Could this have started way before Myria’s existence appeared in this universe?”

”...”

Davis had no idea.

It appeared as though there were too many secrets for him to unravel. However, he could tell one thing for sure.

”Since they can look this way, they know you, and they’re damn afraid of you. It’s more likely they’re waiting for an opportune moment to strike and seek what they want from me.”

Davis openly said while Fallen Heaven sealed the space around them, restricting their words into mere whispers that never left the two of their consciousness and dissolved into nothingness even for those who were tied to Davis and could hear them karmically.

”That opportune moment...” Fallen Heaven frowned.

”Probably my next tribulation...” Davis said with a heavy heart.

He remembered what Fairy Qiyra Darkstar said to him about the Exalt Stage Tribulation.

[I think it’s only unique to humans since we attempt to Law Merge. The unique heavenly tribulation factor for the Exalt Stage is the Heavenly Reincarnation Tribulation that smites your soul. This is where the heavens attempt to completely erase you from the cycle of reincarnation. Destructive, annihilative types of this tribulation are even more ruthless, trying to erase you out of existence and plague your entire identity with karmic burden so that no one can remember you shortly after.]

She said it without much consideration, as though the Exalt Stage Heavenly Tribulation’s Law Merge attempt bringing the Elemental Dimension’s power and Heavenly Reincarnation Tribulation was something natural, but to him, it was the hunt where he was the prey.

There were two Supremes he offended from the Elemental Dimension, and the Reincarnation Dimension was not only his nemesis but also strangely on him. After all, they refused to even come get their reincarnation chains back, as though they were loaning it out to him and waiting for karma to build so they could come and collect it all at once.

So in essence, he had a general idea that not only might he be facing the heavens but also more than Three Supremes.

His fate-peering perception more or less found that it wasn’t untrue at an instinctual level.

And he guessed the next tribulation was also the time when these strange beings from the two moon gates might choose to make their move.

At that time, he would be facing enemies from both outside and inside?

It almost seemed as if he couldn’t survive without using Fallen Heaven.

However, his confidence in dealing with the Being of Original Sin waned since the Sky Word Emperor suddenly said that there could be more beings inside. Even if he was confident, dealing with them early might also trigger their true bodies which he suspected to be unknown Supremes to descend, and it might turn out to be a total slaughter; even if not for him, perhaps his family may not be able to survive.

If they had him from inside and planned this for long, then they could sense the karmic connection he had with his family too, and would be able to trace back to their coordinates.

Davis’s heart turned heavy. He was being thoroughly careful with his decisions.

It was unwise to deal with these foreigners whom he didn’t know how they got inside the first place. He might consider them foreigners, but his Realm of Will surely wasn’t considering them foreigners for some reason. Without unraveling that reason and forming a counter, he felt it would be stupid to make a move now since they would just reverse it on him and try to possess him by using his own growth against him.

Evidently, those beings behind the gates also seemed to be pleased with the status quo despite being sealed by Fallen Heaven.

They showed no signs of even banging the doors.

”Good... I’ll let you fuckers stay without rent for a bit more time...”

Davis felt incensed as he said those words as he looked at the distant moon gates shrouded by haze before he turned around and touched the [IMPOSE] rune. He inwardly swore to freaking make them burn in apocalyptic flames.

*Bzzz!~*

While he had let them go for now, he had chosen to strengthen his Enigmatic Will with the Sky Word Emperor’s Legacy despite the dangers!

=========

Davis woke up again as he sat up straight in an instant.

He turned to look beside him and saw Evelynn still asleep.

On the other side, there was Lereza reading some kind of book. She shot a glance at him and sighed lightly in relief.

”You’re finally awake. It’s been a few hours since you exploded and revived.”

”I see...”

Davis sighed gently as he stretched his body, but even without checking his Essence Gathering Cultivation, he fell face-first to the lovely bosoms of his first wife, seeking solace from all that bullshit he just went through and the exhaustion stemming from learning the techniques directly to the letter as though they were riddled with a mental weight like karmic burden while enduring the oppressive pressure of the [IMPOSE] rune, which wasn’t much but still effective when he was trying to directly accept it.

”Mh~”

Evelynn sounded lightly, still asleep. Her lips curled into a soft smile as she squirmed lightly before plunging his face deeper into her big bosoms as she held him like a plush toy.

”...”

Lereza’s gaze quivered. She pouted, lightly muttering, ”Pervert...”
