Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5214: Thin Layer Of Resistance

After confirming that the Celestial Transcendent truly left, Davis looked around.

Only the hateful Heaven’s Warriors had surrounded him- surrounded the lake by this time, refusing to leave as they firmly watched him and the other Divergents.

They looked like they were going to attack, but barely held themselves back because of the Supreme One’s words.

Davis had the urge to ask them if they liked watching a man take a bath in order to humiliate them, but he coldly snorted and ignored them as he looked up.

”Come, get inside.”

He waved at Fairy Qiyra Darkstar, Laphria Rinmei, and Jaiyan.

Other than Fairy Qiyra Darkstar, the two of them appeared to be gravely injured as their auras were unstable. They helped defeat the Heaven’s Will and allowed him to reverse the Golden Era. Davis wanted them to enjoy the benefits with him.

”We appreciate it, but it seems like this is meant for you alone. We will only make it worse by joining you.”

However, Jaiyan wryly chuckled.

”True, there’s a thin layer of resistance around this lake that’s not allowing us to enter. I suppose other Divergents can’t enter or risk making it worse”

Laphria Rinmei giggled, her expression forced behind her veil.

Davis paused. Who didn’t want to enjoy this luxury?

They didn’t want the Golden Era to disappear.

No one wanted the Golden Era to vanish!

Still, he was about to take no for an answer when a voice echoed.

”That’s a given!” Venerable Knight Foredawn roared, his voice solemn, ”Only the Divine Emperor of Death deserves this for bringing about the Golden Era. The laws of the universe acknowledged him, and Heaven’s isn’t wrathful for now, but for the other Divergents, you shouldn’t even think about enjoying it lest you disrupt the source of the Golden Era!”

His tone was full of warning, causing Jaiyan and Laphria Rinmei to laugh lightly.

But suddenly, he felt a chill as he gazed at the Divine Emperor of Death, looking at him coldly. Then the latter’s gaze moved away.

”Feel free to jump in. I’m not bothered since everyone contributed equally. Without you all, I would’ve ended up sealed. If the Heaven’s Warriors have a problem, they can deal with me.”

”You-!” Venerable Knight Foredawn grimaced, ”Are you trying to make us go against the Supreme One’s words!?”

Davis scoffed.

He didn’t bother to reply.

*Whoosh!~*

But at this moment, someone strode past the blockade and crashed into the heavenly life lake.

Davis blinked as he looked at who it was.

”I also contributed!”

The Handsome Fatty roared as he surfaced from the lake and laughed heartily.

However, he noticed Davis’s glare and suddenly patted his chest with an aggrieved expression.

”You owe me this! Not only did you hide that you were the Divine Emperor of Death, but you also made me nearly die when the Supreme One investigated me and threatened to end me with his glare if I didn’t.”

”Yes, yes... You fatties sure know how to take advantage.”

Davis scoffed with an annoyed expression, but it was true that he wouldn’t be able to absorb this all. No, he would be able to absorb it all since he had like seven days, but his body and soul would be saturated by the time he had one or two more breakthroughs, proving to be useless.

He also felt somewhat moved inwardly. This fatty was essentially telling the world that he knew the Divine Emperor of Death and could be considered an ally. Who knows what kind of dangers he was courting with that?

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar and the others recognized this fatty with a speechless gaze. It was the friend Davis made during the time he spent in the Eighth Bastion City.

It seemed like the heavenly tribulation didn’t resist him, but they knew it would also depend on Handsome Fatty, how much he could absorb, since this tribulation wasn’t meant for him.

As for themselves, they didn’t dare join for fear of overturning what Davis finally achieved. They really didn’t want to risk it after all that hard work and heart-pounding life and death adventure.

”But are you sure you want this instead of entering the Supreme Primarch Stage?” Davis asked with a strange gaze.

”I’m already a Level Eight Primarch.” Handsome Fatty Bjorn shrugged, ”You can’t possibly expect me to drop all the way back to an Autarch, can you?”

Davis pointed up, ”The Golden Era is here, and wild growth of Primarch Grade resources would follow suit. You- ugh, suit yourself.”

Handsome Fatty was evidently moved, but who would be in their right mind to abandon millions of years of cultivation!? It was no different than starting from a baby in their viewpoint. Considering the number of enemies they made all over the years, it would be very difficult to survive without a firm backing.

He threw his hand towards Davis and shouted as he made his way to him, ”Hey, you can’t abandon me like that! I heard you want to take over this realm? I’ll help you with that! You can make me the Realm Master’s Advisor!”

”...”

Davis nearly rolled his eyes. The damned fatty hadn’t even controlled a power in the scale of a region, so how could he advise an empire that controls a realm? He ignored him, continuing to absorb the heavenly life essence and cultivate.

The Heaven’s Warriors could only glare at Handsome Fatty. He didn’t seem like a Divergent, so they didn’t interfere. On the other hand, some people quickly arrived in the air following the fatty, thinking they could also reap the benefits from the heavenly life lake.

However, the fatty seemed to be acquainted with the Divine Emperor of Death.

Could they also enter with that being the case?

Thousands of Exalts and Primarchs gathered around the floating lake.

The undead Davis had released all returned to him hundreds after another as they entered the white stone replica floating above his head, even screaming with terror as the heavenly life energy nearly evaporated them.

Fortunately, the ghostly yang death energy protected them.

The Heaven’s Warriors didn’t look tempted. Instead, they remained solemn and respectful around the lake, carefully watching over the Divergents while the Divergents also kept an eye on them. Jaiyan kept watch as Laphria Rinmei sat down mid-air to swallow a pill and heal. Although Jaiyan was injured more gravely, he prioritized Laphria’s health first, and the latter could only blush as she felt protected.

She hurriedly stabilized her blood and cultivation.

Regardless, the situation kept turning stranger by the second as murmurs of greed erupted.

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar narrowed her eyes.

It seems like the situation could no longer be brought under control.

”Heh!”

A Level Nine Exalt stepped forward.

His appearance was that of a white-haired old man dressed in ragged black robes that appeared to be worn out. He spread his hands, hiccuped, and said with a drunk smile.

”Look at how big this lake is. Clearly, you can’t absorb it all by yourself. Why not give alms to this poor old man?”

After saying that, he unceremoniously jumped into the heavenly lake.

”This...”

Everyone’s gaze churned, expecting the Divine Emperor of Death to deal with him quickly. But even after five seconds had passed, the old man was still swimming in the lake, his expression filled with ecstasy. He even seemed to be becoming a bit younger as his white hair turned greener by the second.

Their gazes turned shocked as they even saw his his bloodsoul essence vitality being restored!
