Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5221: Who Are You Sending?

Davis turned to look at the Fairy Glacia.

”Frostcloud Sword Empress, you protected Myria last time from that Accursed Warlock, and this time, you protected Evelynn and all of us here. I am grateful beyond compare and would work hard to personally increase your cultivation even if you decide to drop to the Empyrean Stage and pursue the path of an Omega Exalt. Everyone, please give a full bow to my wife’s master.”

Davis took the lead in spreading his hands far and wide before cupping his hands and bowing all the way to his waist.

The others instantly followed suit as they bowed, leaving the Frostcloud Sword Empress speechless.

Why was he suddenly being formal?

She warmly smiled at them, ”Rise, children. As long as I am here, I will never forsake you.”

”...”

It was Davis’s turn to be speechless as he rose and gazed at Fairy Glacia.

Her gaze was always warm with no apparent change.

He could see everyone else’s emotions wavering towards him with awe and other kinds of positive emotions, but her gaze was forever warm like a gentle mature woman despite releasing an icy cold aura.

Her Will was too strong for him to see through her true thoughts. This would be the same even if he used Enigmatic Heart Laws on her.

”Fairy Glacia, you’re the best~” Lereza cheered as though she liked being called a child by her.

However, she didn’t dare get close to Fairy Glacia even if she wanted to because her body still exuded the aura of extreme ice after the recent battle. Clearly, she had overexerted herself and still couldn’t bring her Iceborne Calamity Body under control.

In fact, she took a few steps back as she avoided the icy air that spread out.

In a few seconds, everyone avoided Fairy Glacia Frigidveil.

”Is it always like this?” Davis blinked.

”Mhm.” Fairy Glacia Frigidveil nodded slightly, ”I used my physique too much, but whenever I get too happy, my physique responds like this, so I must remain lukewarm until it recedes, never wavering, remaining disciplined.”

”Oh, then I’ll have my alchemists, and maybe even my poison apothecary, look into this problem.”

Davis said as he pointed at Jillian Hayden.

”Me?” Jillian Hayden nearly jumped as she pointed at herself.

”Yes, you.” Davis emphasized as he pointed again, ”Your poisonous remedies have room for growth. Don’t worry, my Davis Family will fund your studies so you can simply become an amazing poison apothecary.”

”...” Jillian Hayden didn’t know what to say.

How was she supposed to treat the fleshly affliction caused by a physique at the peak of the Exalt Grade? She looked at Davis, her expression twitching behind her veil.

Wasn’t he expecting too much from her?

On the other hand, Davis wanted to really fund her studies so she could also have a chance at treating Eden and Quentin’s mental affliction and a few others’ as well. If she could even form some basis against chaos, then he found her foundation to be rock solid.

He felt grateful to her for explaining chaos in a way he could understand back then. Thanks to it and fighting with the Celestial Transcendent, he felt like he could start creating new techniques instead of just releasing chaotic fists.

’Besides, I like you...’

Davis gazed at her quivering eyes from a distance. He really wanted to develop his relationship with Jillian as he found her attractive both in terms of appearance and character since she chose him time and time again. But everything comes in order.

He turned around, locked gazes with the rabbit that appeared to be startled before it moved its gaze away.

More than his own feelings, the urge to reward her was extremely high since she always went overboard in the missions assigned to her, always overdrawing her strength, blocking attacks even at the cost of her life. He had rarely ever seen someone so loyal without being promised a life of happiness and growth.

He craved this woman and wanted to pretty much impregnate her.

Illumina could feel his intense gaze. She knew she might not survive past these seven days, her heart pounding chaotically.

[Pleash make me happy~]

She remembered having said something like this as the flow of their conversation allowed her to become vulnerable and had almost given herself to him if it weren’t for the Realm Master Malzor Hexadra finding them and ruining their moment. She couldn’t help but recall that moment, the passionate kiss enveloped in love and affection, in her head firmly, her cheeks taking on a full blush.

She was both scared and excited.

She wanted to become his but also wanted to keep him on an unreachable pedestal so she could follow him till the end without having to think twice. But if she looked at herself as his wife, she was afraid that she might need to consider a lot of things other than just purely following him like a loyal warrior.

”Master, who are you planning to send into the Realm Master competition?”

At this moment, Lereza’s voice echoed, disturbing the two of them from their reverie.

When Davis turned to look at Lereza, she asked again.

”Is it your father?”

Illumina thought the same.

Davis’s father, Logan, was at Level Nine Empyrean Stage, the most optimal position to bind the Realm Core and quickly rise into an Exalt with incredible power, capable of defending and overseeing since he was already an Emperor once. Judging by the Davis Family’s standards, they were confident that he would become an Alpha Exalt since, unlike Davis, his father had solely focused on practicing Lightning Laws and Darkness Laws for the past decade now.

Davis didn’t blink nor look surprised by that question. He nodded, ”I’ve thought of that, but my father falls in and out of being a Passive Divergent from what I could tell. It wouldn’t be good to place him in the competition lest he gets disqualified after failing to pass a Divergent screening test or something.”

”Then who?” Lereza asked.

”Who else other than my first son?” Davis blinked.

”Young Master Azariel!?” Illumina looked stunned.

”What, you don’t think my son is capable?”

Davis raised his brows, causing Illumina to hurriedly reply.

”Capable! Young Master Azariel is capable, but is it really okay for him to carry that kind of burden? If he fails, the setback would be...”

Davis smirked, ”Win or lose, I wouldn’t blame him, and self-blame is up to him. But the most important thing is that his prowess is somewhat lacking.”

”...” Lereza and Illumina blinked.

If he was lacking, why send him?

Davis spread his hands, ”There are many stronger Empyreans than him, like Fairy Anastasia, the Celestial Transcendent’s granddaughter. I’ve already considered the possibility of her participating just to disqualify our candidate and not necessarily win the competition. If she does appear, he wouldn’t have a chance to win. That’s why I will be personally looking after his cultivation after returning.”

”Oh? What does master have in mind?” Lereza’s eyes gleamed with curiosity.

”Something a bit too dangerous, but something he would have to undergo as his mother did once, nevertheless...”

”Uh... Mistress Evelynn wouldn’t accept this...”

”Yeah, she would kill me...”

Davis chuckled wryly before looking away.

They continued to converse till they made it to the heavenly life lake.

The scene below was shocking to say the least, but the first thing he did was rush to Fairy Qiyra Darkstar, thank her, borrow Yama, and rush back to the Galaxy Wormhole Battlefield to improve Yama’s grade and clean out so many stragglers from the other galaxy as he practiced his scythe moves on them.

There wouldn’t be another good chance like this in this decade, if he were to be honest.

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar gave him a boost by sending him hurling across space.

He was sure the Celestial Transcendent would be busy fighting the Hell Hydra Monarch, but once he quickly got there within an hour, he was dumbfounded, dropping Yama to the ground while it screamed at him. However, once it hit the ground, its curved blade embedded into the surface, it inhaled the scent of pure death seeping into the land, and its demeanor changed as it rumbled crazily.

The war was still going on as there were simply tens of millions of beasts crazily fighting for survival on the ground and in the air.

However, the Galaxy Wormhole was nowhere to be seen.

All he could see was a humongous chaotic ice mountain that firmly appeared in the place where the swirling Galaxy Wormhole was supposed to be.
