Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5205: No Longer Scared?

’Reset-!’

Just as he thought of unleashing another Judgment Law Technique at the Celestial Transcendent so he could return to Fairy Qiyra Darkstar, his gaze quivered.

Abruptly, his head turned around one-eighty like a terrifying monster as he growled.

”Yeah, let’s go together!”

”...!”

The Celestial Transcendent’s expression turned cold. He instantly let go as he kicked Davis, trying to use the impact to push himself off like a breeze traversing the wind current, when a purple-black dome appeared and encompassed him. Instantly, he felt himself disappear along with Davis.

*Boom!~*

A dark spherical ball of light that appeared like a condensed star crashed into the Stormheart Incarnation Prism, momentarily making the fourth Celestial Transcendent’s avatar take five steps back into the abyss.

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar appeared in the abyssal cavity, her extended hand brimming with twilight energy and space energy. Her silver eyes radiated with a cold glint.

In her finger over the other hand was also another replica, the Temporal Voidplane Ring. However, it was already trembling.

She looked at Davis and the Celestial Transcendent, appearing to be frozen in time.

However, the Temporal Voidplane Ring had just entered the Exalt Grade. Even with her energy, she was aware that she wouldn’t be able to suppress them for long, so she first released Davis.

*Whoosh!~*

Davis didn’t even dally, seemingly already prepared for this kind of scenario.

He hurriedly spun a few times before slashing at an empty space.

”Haunting Teardrop!”

At that moment, the Celestial Transcendent’s third avatar reappeared in the line of slash, barely reacting to the danger.

However, the raised arms were once again useless as Davis yet again tore through the defenses and sliced through the body like he was cutting tofu.

After slicing through, Davis watched the avatar disperse into chaotic essence, which all dispersed into thin air karmically.

’It returns to the true body karmically... dammit...’

Couldn’t he even harvest the loot?

Davis felt infuriated. However, he did loot the spatial ring from at least this one avatar.

Regardless, he didn’t take his eyes off his last foe before more avatars could show up.

”Let’s finish him together.” Fairy Qiyra Darkstar said.

”...”

Davis was honestly surprised by Fairy Qiyra Darkstar’s statement, but he was no longer shocked since a few seconds ago.

After all, he more or less knew Fairy Qiyra Darkstar’s position since she had like twelve of the bloodsoul essences that he had parted with. Each drop contained a percent of his bloodsoul essence. Each essence was meant to be switched with his truesoul when his wisp was in danger, essentially rescuing him from danger twelve times.

If even Fairy Qiyra Darkstar wasn’t enough, then Laphria Rinmei might’ve also joined in harassing the hunters with her ridiculously real illusions.

This was how their team intended to harass anyone who was going to try to kill him. They would cough up blood from being unable to seal him.

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar also didn’t face any difficulty changing the real into unreal since Davis didn’t resist her powers.

With him also knowing where she was vaguely, it helped him calculate his attacks. However, the most important thing was that although she said she would save him as much as she could, she said she wouldn’t help him attack the Celestial Transcendent no matter what, but she appeared to have changed her mind.

He could sense the fear she harbored in her heart for the Celestial Transcendent had cracked a bit.

Davis always found this a bit comical.

After all, Fairy Qiyra Darkstar didn’t even fear Realm Master Malzor Hexadra, who wasn’t limited by the normal layer limit, but she was intimidated by the Celestial Transcendent, who was suppressed by the normal layer limit. He supposed he just broke the fact that the Celestial Transcendent wasn’t infallible in this layer in her mind.

Nonetheless, the atmosphere quickly tensed.

The Celestial Transcendent with one replica of the Heavenspark Lightning Jewel.

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar with two replicas, one from the Necklace of Light and Darkness and the other from the Spacetime Quintessence Ring.

And finally, Davis possessed two replicas of the Tablet of Life and Death, which he theorized that they were from the same original replica.

Everything had gathered in place for a final bout.

But the result was fairly quick.

The Celestial Transcendent, with a strange smile on his face, simply chose to retreat into the abyss in an attempt to wait for his avatars.

’This guy...’

Davis and Fairy Qiyra Darkstar’s gazes quivered, wondering if he truly had any dignity as a ruler.

The latter wondered why she had felt fear all this time, but she didn’t overestimate herself, considering she watched Davis die again and again while nearly being sealed if it weren’t for her help. That- was the natural outcome of anyone who dared to face the Celestial Transcendent.

On the other hand, Davis felt it was a pity that he couldn’t steal the Stormheart Incarnation Prism. It was seemingly always connected to the Celestial Transcendent’s truesoul. He guessed that as long as there was an avatar nearby, this connection would remain and switch to another avatar if the avatar that bound the treasure was dead.

He also felt another strange sensation, which left him feeling complicated.

The Celestial Transcendent’s lock on him had receded somehow.

Did this mean that he earned the chance to target the Desolate Era?

’Only for this brief moment?’ Davis wondered before his gaze flickered, ’Wait, what also happened on the Galaxy Wormhole Battlefield? Could it be that my Evelynn is captured?’

Davis’s expression churned.

Why did the Celestial Transcendent act like he had won, as he simply left with a smile?

If only he could see through his own avatar at the Galaxy Wormhole Battlefield. It was a pity that he couldn’t since his soul sense was aggressively impeded by the desolate air’s thickness in this place and the lack of heaven and earth energy in the atmosphere, of which the latter was common to all, denying them a better range for any type of connections they wanted, whether it be a soul link or a messaging talisman’s link.

The desolate air was indeed targeting him, wishing for his death.

Nonetheless, he couldn’t see through Evelynn’s third eye either since the distance was too far for the hex link to support.

”We’ll carry out the plan quickly. No time to waste, even if the Celestial Transcendent is lying in wait for an ambush.”

”...” Fairy Qiyra Darkstar heard his soul transmission.

She turned to look at him, giving him a firm look before nodding.

The two of them rose into the air, witnessed by hundreds and thousands of cultivators and experts who had assembled here to witness this glorious event of sealing the Divine Emperor of Death, turning into something else.

Their scalps turned numb as they witnessed the Supreme Ruler retreat for some reason!

What was going on!?

”Everyone, retreat!”

At this moment, Venerable Knight Lussandra’s voice echoed in their souls.

It shocked the experts, making them wonder why.

Why? Why? Why?

Had they lost!? Even though they could still fight!?

Venerable Knight Lussandra stood up, watching the Divine Emperor of Death ascend with a heavy heart.

No one knew how this decision of theirs was going to turn out. She could instantly tell what the Celestial Transcendent had decided. He would allow the Divine Emperor of Death to try out his plan, and then seal him once he is done and out of energy.

By that time, more avatars would be here! It would be impossible for the Divine Emperor of Death to escape!

However, she couldn’t understand why he would let him try when he was so against it in the beginning. What changed his mind? The Celestial Transcendent wasn’t afraid of death. Besides, what is there to be afraid of when he was only an avatar that was intended for sacrificial purposes in the first place?

It was a pity that he couldn’t unleash an ability above the layer limit. The Void Dimension doesn’t differentiate between the avatar and the true body. It will throw everyone out regardless. Even for a ruler, this is fixed, although it wouldn’t matter much to them since the Celestial Transcendent was more or less at the edge of the Three Layers two months ago.

Their speed and other items in hand would allow them to return to the Three Layers at insane speeds, even if they got thrown out. The only problem would be offending the Void Dimension’s Supremes, which might cause them to impose unfair spatial restrictions on their galaxy, which might prove to be disadvantageous to their galaxy’s denizens and advantageous to other galaxies.

”Ah! He-he’s going to take everyone with him to death as he had declared and still freaking revive! Retreat! Run for your lives!”

At this moment, the Handsome Fatty screamed with terror and shot away.

The female ghost looked at him with a complicated gaze before chasing after him with a shriek.

Like a building collapsing after the pillar shattered, the others followed suit without even asking why again. The fact that the Divine Emperor of Death was able to hold this long against the Celestial Transcendent was already shocking, but to have made him retreat was downright terrifying.

They scrambled away while the ghosts kept hunting them, already having killed over twenty thousand Empyreans and a few hundred Exalts. They were sure that their new master would praise them as they also collected their soul essences according to his Will, barely keeping themselves from feasting on it since it was his Will that allowed them to retain these souls somehow.

These soul essences shook, getting pulled by the reincarnation cycle to be refined since Empyreans and above don’t get to reincarnate naturally. However, their Master’s Will allowed these soul essences to resist that pull!

Only a few among them managed to recognize this!
