Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5213: The Supreme Ruler Makes His Decision

Venerable Knight Lussandra paused for a moment before sending a soul transmission.

”Accelerate the assimilation of the Primeval Universe Ruins and allow the universe to flourish while also decreasing the invasion of Vacuous Beasts. This contribution... should suffice for at least a few Divergents to be naturalized.”

”Stop!”

The Celestial Transcendent’s gaze turned solemn, ”You’d be committing suicide to enter the core region of the Primeval Universe Ruins.”

Venerable Knight Lussandra didn’t listen. She formed her verdant wings and shot away, appearing to look for a Greater Realm node that would take her to the First Layer. Only then could she get out of the bubble known as Three Layers and enter the Zeroth Layer, where there was nearly nothing but disastrous stars and spatial storms in the vast space.

Fairy Runalise in the distance also rose into the air and shot along with her.

”...!”

The Celestial Transcendent’s expression turned livid. He sent word to his avatars to stop them before turning to look at Davis.

”You damned silver-tongued devil. Would you not rest without corrupting young women left and right?”

”...?”

Davis had the urge to ask what he did. He didn’t know what they even talked about, much less why Venerable Knight Lussandra left.

He glanced at the two female Heaven’s Warriors’ silhouettes, wondering why they were leaving without at least chasing him away from this realm first.

Regardless, he wanted to maintain his position.

Returning his gaze, he opened his mouth, his voice firm, ”Declare the Davis Family’s non-Divergents to be innocent and grant them the special status of protection from unfair crusades. Hold a public competition for the position of the Realm Master of this realm. I will only send one non-Divergent member from my family. If they fail, then I won’t say a word and even abandon the plan of conquering an Upper Realm as I did for the Lower Realms. Remember, this way, I won’t need to use my little Calypsea. She doesn’t have to engage in destruction, and we’re both happy to see little ones thrive peacefully. What do you think?”

”...”

The Celestial Transcendent’s gaze narrowed.

That’s right. Where was that little apocalyptic spirit that brought dread to the entirety of the Lower Realms? That spirit was as infamous as the Divine Emperor of Death before the latter became a Desolate Divergent. Surely, these Divergents wouldn’t be here without that spirit.

Davis was precisely here- without Calypsea.

Calypsea wasn’t even an Exalt Spirit yet. If he had brought her here, she would die before she could get to the Realm Core.

On the other hand, the Celestial Transcendent, who was having an avatar currently on its way to this place return to the Realm Core.

It was just too dangerous to leave the Realm Core like that when someone else could take advantage of the situation to become the Realm Master. If someone like Accursed Warlock became the Realm Master, then the realm would be doomed.

Malzor Hexadra was still the Realm Master of the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm, but with the interference of the Asura Dimension, the connection he shared was the weakest.

There was the danger of Malzor Hexadra returning to the realm to aid the Hell Hydra Monarch, so it was better to sever the connection now. He supposed that was also one of the reasons why the Hell Hydra Monarch was clearing out the hell poison.

If Realm Master Malzor Hexadra tried to cross that poisonous wormhole, he would be in a world of pain.

Nonetheless, he had already made his move to deal with the Realm Core, so he wasn’t worried.

He gazed at Davis, thinking this brat at least knew how to touch one’s bottom line but not break it.

He answered, ”As long as someone isn’t a Divergent, they could indeed become a Realm Master as long as they’re capable. However, this realm is exclusive to the hydras, according to the Covenant we exchanged at the establishment of the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy. The next Realm Master will be from the bloodline of a hydra.”

”...”

Davis frowned.

He didn’t particularly have anyone with the hydra bloodline in his family.

There was just Gralex, the Six-Headed Hydra. Maybe if he exaggerated it, Vereina could be one too, for her manifestations were one of a hydra and the nether devil. However, Vereina was a Divergent, so she couldn’t be sent.

”However,” The Celestial Transcendent continued, ”One of the allied Hydra Clans has betrayed the human race, betrayed the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy. Subsequently, this Covenant will have one of its clauses of exclusivity erased, and the upcoming competition to become the Realm Master will be held for Empyreans and Autarchs who have distinguished themselves. Naturally, you can also send one non-Divergent from your family.”

”...?”

Davis’s expression churned.

The Celestial Transcendent accepted his reward request?

”Supreme One, you can’t do this!”

Abruptly, a few Heaven’s Warriors appeared nearby.

One of them was a Venerable Knight, whom he was not familiar with, for he was none other than Venerable Knight Foredawn, who had fought with Calypsea, even managing to withstand her flames for a long time.

More and more Heaven’s Warriors were arriving at this battlefield. It must be known that all the realms have been mobilized the moment the Divine Emperor of Death was spotted.

”Stand down.”

The Celestial Transcendent spoke coldly without even turning to look at him, his voice turning more authoritative and dignified.

”...” Venerable Knight Foredawn could only tremble under the sudden release of the heavenly aura. The other Heaven’s Warriors and even the Venerable Elders didn’t fare any better, practically swaying.

Davis’s expression changed.

The Celestial Transcendent never used the heavenly aura in his fight against him.

This was way more suffocating than he expected. It was not something he couldn’t withstand but battling while under this pressure would’ve been way harder.

He should’ve known better what a Celestial Seed was capable of, but he doubted a mere avatar could maintain this kind of oppressive aura for too long.

The Celestial Transcendent’s voice boomed, echoing for all the people and even the ghosts to hear.

”For the contribution of bringing the Golden Era to our human race, I, the Supreme Ruler of the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy, declare that the non-Divergent members of the Davis Family shall not be a target for the Heaven’s Warriors, Divergent Hunters, and the powers in the myriad realms of my galaxy. They cannot righteously hunt them down in the name of justice and the common laws. This will hold true as long as the Golden Era remains.”

”...”

Davis’s gaze quivered.

His reward was truly... granted...? Was the Celestial Transcendent not screwing with him? Suddenly shooting a wicked smile and saying that he should hope to be reborn as a normal lifeform instead of a Divergent?

The other people also shared the same shock as Davis.

This cannot be happening! They must kill this Divergent before he grows again! After all, if he could even fight at the layer limit at this level, then what could he do when he becomes a Level Nine Empyrean!?

”My word is final. The Divergents in front of us are still targets. However-”

The Celestial Transcendent said coldly to the others before shooting a look at Davis.

”Respecting the universe’s decision, you people have gained seven days of reprieve. Scram of this realm before I kill you again and seal you for good this time.”

The heavenly aura vanished, and the Celestial Transcendent was then nowhere to be seen.

Davis’s expression kept twitching. After all, the Celestial Transcendent didn’t even ask him about the son-in-law, making him wonder if this was a false promise. If not, he supposed he needed to be reciprocal or end up angering him even more!
