Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5217: Breezing Through The Mid Empyrean Stage

Venerable Knight Foredawn knew that only the Great Fiend Pit had Alpha Exalts in its ranks.

However, not all Great Fiends were Alpha Exalts or Supreme Primarchs. From the five Great Fiends he was aware of, only two were Alpha Exalts, one of them the youngest known as Great Fiend Saboath and the another senior Great Fiend known as Great Fiend Dhraggen. The rest were just an Exalt or a Primarch, but they couldn’t be underestimated due to their ability to escape and bring destruction across the board.

Death energy always reigned supreme because of the obvious danger it represented to lifeforms. It was the nemesis of life. Even if it didn’t counter their attribute, it would target their soul and body, draining their vitality and imposing fear into the depths of their heart as it invokes their desire to live, leading to an innate suppression that one cannot withstand easily without experiencing numerous life and death situations at the edge.

The Great Fiends took advantage of this aspect to easily slaughter opponents at the same level or even higher, and he believed the Divine Emperor of Death was no different.

In fact, he believed the Divine Emperor of Death was far more dangerous in this aspect. Otherwise, he couldn’t have fought the Supreme One and not break.

”...” Various thoughts filled his mind.

He watched the Divine Emperor of Death continue to break through in his law comprehension.

From comprehending Life Laws to inverting that and comprehending Death Laws before fusing them into Reincarnation Laws and comprehending it, he did it all. His Reincarnation Laws seemed to have reached Level One Abstruse Intent.

He didn’t stop there. His Karma Laws comprehension rose to Level Nine Abstruse Intent, and Illusion Laws comprehension rose to Level Nine Quiddity. These two Laws were weaker compared to other Laws, but it only made Venerable Knight Foredawn sweat, since if he found it that if the Divine Emperor of Death could unleash karmic attacks like this when his Karma Laws were merely at the peak of the Empyrean Stage, then what could he do when they reached the peak of the Exalt Stage?

The Heaven’s Warriors felt shaken.

They were watching the Divine Emperor of Death improve in real time!

It almost felt as though they were guarding him from others instead of guarding others from him!

Some adamant Venerable Elders couldn’t stop shaking from the humiliation and fury. Venerable Knight Foredawn had to give them other assignments to make them leave. They were tasked with defending the Galaxy Wormhole Battlefield since it wasn’t all over there.

”...!”

Some trembled when they saw him continue to comprehend again.

Level One Quintessence of Light Laws and Level One Quintessence of Darkness Laws.

When they saw that the phenomenon abruptly collapsed on itself before trying to shroud reality, a Venerable Warrior abruptly spat a mouthful of blood, which seemed to have been caused by his injury and worsened by the scene occurring in front of him.

The others sighed lightly, knowing that the Divine Emperor of Death failed in comprehending Level One Intent of Twilight Laws.

Davis’s expression carried a frown.

He supposed he was hasty in trying to consolidate the insights he learned in this adventure and battle. Even though the Level One Intent of a Supreme Law was just at the Immortal King Stage, it wasn’t easy to comprehend if he just dabbled in it.

Nonetheless, he put it in the back of his mind and continued to raise his Law Comprehension.

Although it sucked to be revealing his level of comprehension to the Heaven’s Warriors, he knew he must consolidate these insights and comprehend Law Intents while they were fresh in his mind, particularly Chaos Laws, which he had learned a lot and had the opportunity of witnessing it first hand from the Celestial Transcendent himself.

Chaos Laws are the source for nearly all Laws in the universe. When it is used as a soft force, it is capable of returning chaos and different kinds of energies into pure heaven and earth energy. When it is used as a hard force, it is capable of turning chaos energy and heaven and earth energy into some other kind of Law. Primarily, it brings balance, accommodating or exacerbating weaknesses, deflating or increasing strengths.

These were the yin-yang properties of chaos.

What Isabella mastered was Rumbling Laws, but she was firmly approaching Chaos Laws of her own volition through the aspects of yin fusion, not that she needed to anymore, since she had Mira, who had already allowed her to comprehend Chaos Laws.

On the other hand, the Celestial Transcendent appeared to be a firm user of aspects of yang fusion with some other prerequisite Law, like the Rumbling Laws, throwing all kinds of Laws at him.

When he understood this to a deeper level, the breakthrough naturally came.

Level Nine Intent of Chaos Laws.

He wanted to go straight into Level One Abstruse Intent of Chaos Laws, but like Twilight Laws, he ended up failing.

Perhaps his comprehension was still not fleshed out.

However, he succeeded in learning Level Two Quintessence of Blood Laws.

The rest of his Laws remained the same without any changes.

But as time passed while comprehending, he managed to break into Level Six Empyrean Stage.

The Heaven’s Warriors were numb at this point.

They saw that the heavenly lake had decreased by forty percent. This could surely take the Divine Emperor of Death to Level Eight or even Level Nine Empyrean Stage. However, they believed his body and soul could no longer be tempered, and his cultivation base would have already been saturated. If he absorbed any higher this quickly, he would be met with a firm backlash.

Normally, the heavenly life tribulation shouldn’t cause saturation that easily, but the Divine Emperor of Death was already too damn powerful.

Any normal Exalt- a Level One Exalt, should be easily able to reach Level Nine Exalt Stage in one fell swoop if they could occupy and enjoy a part of this heavenly life lake. But it seemed different for the Divine Emperor of Death.

Indeed, Davis knew his soul force’s prowess had increased yet again.

Due to his comprehension of Reincarnation Laws reaching Level One Abstruse Intent, his base soul prowess rose from twenty-two levels higher to twenty-three levels higher. If he imbued his Enigmatic Will into it, it was as powerful as twenty-six levels higher.

This resulted in an increase of one level, but in his class, it was an impossible feat.

Hence, with the cultivation base of Level Six Empyrean Stage and possessing a total base prowess of twenty-six levels higher, he was already comparable to a Level Nine Exalt!

At this point, he felt the need to bring his cultivation to a stop as he knew he had advanced too fast.

After all, when he came here to this realm, he was just a Level Three Empyrean.

Having absorbed only twenty percent of the heavenly life lake for his cultivation, the remaining twenty percent was absorbed by the white stone for later use. If he were to rise to Level Seven Empyrean Stage, Davis knew his cultivation base would become unstable, but he clenched his teeth and advanced since it would mean a permanent strengthening of his Will and the black-white stone replica.

After all, the black-white stone replica and his Will had both dropped in power after he returned to his fleshly body.

With that, he had confirmed the loop of Ghost Will Rebirth that allowed him to die, become a ghost, and grow powerful if he continued to die, resulting in an increase in power in both Will and cultivation, was only temporary.

He absorbed more heavenly life energy.

After the white stone absorbed thirty percent of the heavenly lake, he didn’t stop and continued to absorb five percent more, bringing it to a total of thirty-five percent.

As for himself, breaking into the Level Seven Empyrean Stage wasn’t easy since it represented a new minor realm within the stage.

If the breakthrough failed, his cultivation level could drop slightly.

But he strode forward, absorbing as much as thirty percent more of the heavenly lake, depleting it by a total of eighty-five percent.

At this point, he had spent a few hours cultivating while various events in the world unfolded, setting the world in motion in a way that ran counter to what they had planned for the future, as the advent of the Golden Era left the entire human race dumbfounded and shocked beyond compare.
