Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5208: Initial Plan

Davis, Laphria Rinmei, Jaiyan, Frostcloud Sword Empress, and Fairy Qiyra Darkstar sat around a table.

”Hmm... alright, the meeting for the mission: Reverse the Desolate Era, will begin now. Any opinions before I go deeper into it?”

”You’re a fool.” Fairy Qiyra Darkstar said coldly.

She folded her arms, had one leg over the other as she sat near Davis on the table while looking away. She was compelled to be here by her disciple Mingzhi.

”It won’t work.” The Frostcloud Sword Empress gave her honest opinion with a warm smile.

”Little brother, I think we’re getting ahead of ourselves.” Jaiyan chuckled wryly.

”The sequence of events leading up to the destruction of the source of the Desolate Era is good, but I still think we won’t succeed.” Laphria Rinmei responded solemnly with her cute face.

Her pink hair strands glowed, creating a false reality that brought them away from the notice of most invincible gazes, perhaps even Heaven’s Will as long as it wasn’t watching with its focus firmly upon them.

Davis chuckled as he heard their opinions.

This was the normal response since he was literally asking them to follow in a suicide mission.

He brought out his black-white stone and placed it on the table, ”This is a replica from the Primeval Treasure Tablet of Life and Death. With this in my hand, I could reach Level Eight or Level Nine Exalt easily and even go beyond that since I have my ways, like sacrificing Myria’s and my soul essence together, plus summoning a strange mark that increases my prowess by a few more levels. It isn’t really a problem for me to reach the layer limit this way.”

”...”

For a moment, the four Saintess Lunaria’s disciples went speechless.

This guy was still a Level Three Empyrean, right? Why was he talking about a Level Seventeen or Level Eighteen Exalt at the layer limit?

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar turned to look at him coldly, ”Even if what you say is true, it doesn’t mean you can defeat the Celestial Transcendent. His battle experience is ridiculous. He will counter every move you make. You can only hope he hasn’t seen your reincarnation attacks before to have some chance, but after you repeat it twice or thrice, he would quickly counter it.”

”Indeed. His chaos abilities simply encompass nearly all Laws, and his chaos body takes a lot of energy to kill that it simply couldn’t be done in one move.” The Frostcloud Sword Empress shook her head with a wry smile.

”I know.” Davis kept his smile, ”That’s where I die.”

”...?”

The four of them abruptly blinked together.

It was as though a huge ’huh?’ resounded inside the room silently.

”So...” Davis started, not sure how to explain his instinctive feeling, ”I am convinced that I am undying- to a degree far more than even the likes of an Emperor-Tier Divine Phoenix or a Grand Ancestral Rank Beast Hydra that can revive again and again due to its nine souls and the immense energy behind it. As long as my Will isn’t completely destroyed, it would be impossible to erase me from this universe. Only sealing is capable of stopping me, but that is where I need your help, Fairy Qiyra Darkstar.”

”...” Fairy Qiyra Darkstar simply didn’t know where he was getting this confidence from, just because he didn’t die to some Empyrean Heaven’s Warrior.

At least, it seemed like he didn’t forget that he would’ve been sealed if it weren’t for her saving him from Realm Master Malzor Hexadra.

”You don’t need mine?” The Frostcloud Sword Empress asked with a teasing glint.

Davis chuckled lightly, ”Fairy Glacia, I’ll need you to protect Evelynn on the Galaxy Wormhole mission. Only you can stop the forces that would besiege her, even if they were a Realm Master.”

”What makes you think that?”

”Level Three Obscure Intent of Imposing Sword Laws. Having comprehended Level Three Obscure Intent of Enigmatic Heart Laws, I know how powerful you truly are, only trapped by your current cultivation at the Alpha Exalt Stage.”

”...”

Davis answered calmly, causing the Frostcloud Sword Empress to narrow her eyes.

It was unlike her as she always possessed a warm expression, but it seemed like she also found that being stuck in the Alpha Exalt Stage was a pity.

Davis could tell she was stuck between a rock and a hard place. After all, who would be in their right mind to abandon their millions of years of cultivation?

Although the Frostcloud Sword Empress has learned Level Three Obscure Laws in Imposing Sword Laws, if she regressed to the Empyrean Stage and tried to make a breakthrough again into the Omega Exalt Stage, it wasn’t a given that she would succeed.

Learning the Law Intent was one thing, and then succeeding at the Law Merge was another.

It was a sore point in her life she didn’t really want to think about, as she was fine with her current cultivation. After all, the resources required for an Alpha Exalt to enter the World Hegemon Stage, and the resources required for an Omega Exalt to enter the World Hegemon Stage, were practically the difference between heaven and earth.

She had long heard that those who enter Alpha Exalt Stage and, most importantly, the Omega Exalt Stage, stay right there until their death!

That’s why they found it funny and ridiculous when Davis said that he would help them enter the next stage.

The Frostcloud Sword Empress didn’t think about it anymore. She said with a faint smile.

”Perhaps, but you’re asking me to send myself out of the Three Layers for your wife?”

”Not exactly.” Davis shook his head, ”I only wish for you to protect Evelynn. I will also be there, so even if things go wrong, I’ll be there to hold the position while you all retreat. This mission is being conducted under my leadership, and it is I who is bringing you all there. I won’t say a word if you all choose to retreat at any point in time during the mission. My only request is that you take Evelynn with you back home or one of your hideouts when you retreat.”

”A fine determination.” Jaiyan nodded, ”I support you, little brother, but why is your first wife coming with us? Isn’t she still an Empyrean?”

Davis then let them know about the Hell Poison Gem’s replica, making them surprised but allowing them to hold a bit more confidence in his words.

”So that’s how the Galaxy Wormhole Mission succeeds... this has more chances than what we’re trying to do.” Jaiyan couldn’t help but laugh dryly.

In this mission, he has to tell the heavens to fuck off? Now, he was truly courting death.

Davis wanted to say not necessarily, since he predicted that the Celestial Transcendent would be present in multiple places, not to mention the Hydra Galaxy ruler, who could enter after sniffing the Hell Poison Gem’s replica.

But he trusted the Frostcloud Sword Empress that she could kill them with a single swing of her sword if they were cornered, and then be sent out of the void along with Evelynn. At least, they could survive this way.

He continued explaining to them how he was going to survive the onslaught of the powerhouses since it was their main issue.

”The plan indeed relies on me to die, die, and keep dying. However, I would never die for real because the layer limit, even for Realm Masters, called the absolute layer limit, which allows them to reach near Level Three Hierarch Stage, wouldn’t be able to stop me from reviving. This- I’m confident in due to my Will being nearly at the level of a Level One World Hegemon while carrying the reincarnation aspect that allows me to cling to life, perhaps as long as I have the strong Will to live. I call this phenomenon Life Clasping Will.”

”Life Clasping Will?” Laphria Rinmei blinked, wondering if she could imitate this with her World Weaver Physique.

”Yes, this phenomenon doesn’t allow me to die.”

Davis said.

Honestly, there were three phenomena. Together, he decided to name it the Ghost Will Rebirth.

When he dies, his soul physique reaches the apex and produces yin. After all, Myria’s life and death soul physique was yin in nature, and his reincarnation soul physique was yang in nature. Because of the yin that was produced, it allowed his soul to change into a ghost, becoming a ghostly yin entity, giving him the power to fight back even in death.

To him, death was just a state between life and death until true death met him.

The Ghost Will Rebirth comprises three phenomena that he named Shattered Soul Rebirth, Life Clasping Will, and the Vehement Ghost Awakening.

His Shattered Soul Rebirth, stemming from his Everlasting Tribunal Samsara Soul Physique, consists of two phases, namely the soul reviving into a Ghostly Will soul, and then the revival of the fleshly body. This is also aided by his Chaotic Genesis Physique when it’s time to remake the body, so he could retrieve whatever energy he had left when losing his life or body.

The second phenomenon was the Life Clasping Will, which causes his reincarnation-attributed Will to cling to life even when it is destroyed, making him nearly undying. He suspected it would take a powerful hit from at least a Mid-Level World Hegemon to destroy his Will, especially when it was fortified by his Enigmatic Heart Laws, but still, he hoped it wouldn’t come to this point because he wasn’t sure about it.

The third phenomenon, Vehement Ghost Awakening, is triggered when the second phase of the Shattered Soul Rebirth wasn’t triggered, and he died again, leading his reincarnation soul to believe that he needs more prowess to survive. This strength is literally derived from the soul physique completing life and death cycles, and the vehemence from wanting to kill those who had wronged him since he would literally be a vengeful ghost during this phenomenon.

However, with the black-white stone in hand, he supposed it would become a loop of him becoming stronger and stronger until the replica could no longer endure or he hits the layer limit, whichever was first, although he believed he would hit the layer limit first.

Davis didn’t explain all of this to them since this was his own secret that he needed to keep hidden, or it would be taken advantage of one day when he expected the least.

The less people knew, the better.

Hence, all he explained to them was the Life Clasping Will, relieving them of their worries.

”I don’t know if this is a blessing or a curse, but I will make use of it as much as I can, abuse it if need be.” Davis declared with a blank face.

Even if he knew the Ghost Will Rebirth would save him from true death, there was no way of knowing the consequences of it until he went through this phenomenon a lot of times.
