Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

He opened the photo album.

Although the album was large, there were not many photos, and photos of Luo Tong and her brother were even fewer.

”There aren’t many photos. One day, Dad suddenly had the idea to take my brother and me to the photo studio,” Luo Tong said, pointing to several photos.

It looks like these are photos from two or three years ago, and she was quite young back then. It seems she had been deliberately dressed up for the photos, with red lipstick, blush, and a red dot on her forehead, looking slender, and her smile appeared particularly bright and cheerful.

However, Ning Chenyang just glanced at it and moved on.

His focus was not on this, but on the scar-faced old man.

There weren’t many photos of this old man, but whenever a photo was taken, there were always other men around him, and among them, there was one man Ning Chenyang recognized.

Last time, that man was the one who stuffed Yu Ziyang and Sheng Xiaoguang into a sack and threw them into a car.

This must be the old man’s accomplice!

”Luo Tong, are these all your dad’s friends? Or relatives?” Ning Chenyang’s finger slowly traced over the photos until it stopped at the one with the most people.

”Friends. Sometimes they come back with Dad.”

”Oh, oh...”

”Chenyang, you haven’t said if my photo looks good yet!”

”It looks good, really good. Luo Tong... can you get me a drink of water?” Ning Chenyang said suddenly.

”Sure! Wait a moment.”

Luo Tong turned and went out to get water, and Ning Chenyang took the opportunity to pull out the photo with all the people and hide it in his backpack, then closed the album and put it aside.

By the time Luo Tong returned with the water, Ning Chenyang was already reading, and the album was quietly set to one side.

”Here you go. Not looking at the album anymore?”

”No. Not anymore. Luo Tong, next time you take photos, you’re sure to look even better than now,” Ning Chenyang said insincerely.

”Do you really think so?”

”Of course!”

Luo Tong’s heart was pounding, thrilled by the compliment, putting her in a wonderful mood.

Ning Chenyang’s heart was also racing because he realized he had walked into a human trafficker’s lair. His heart skipped a few beats, especially knowing that this trafficker had quite a few accomplices who occasionally visited his home.

He had to leave, taking his friends with him.

In case they ran into them, he feared he and his friends might not see the sun the next day.

”Luo Tong, I should head back. It’s almost dark, and if my parents don’t see me home, they’ll worry!” Ning Chenyang finished the water in one gulp and put the cup down.

”Already leaving? Not staying a little longer?” Luo Tong seemed a bit reluctant.

”Yeah. Maybe next time.”

”Well... okay then.”

When Ning Chenyang announced they were leaving, the three of them were a bit unwilling, as they were enjoying the game and hadn’t had their fill yet, especially since it wasn’t easy to come such a long way.

”Chenyang, let’s play a bit more? Look, the sun hasn’t set yet!” Bean Sprout remarked, glancing at the still bright window, and then back at the TV screen.

”Just two more rounds.”

”Just got here, haven’t had enough fun yet.”

”No way. We must go!” Ning Chenyang gave them no chance and directly turned off the TV, drawing a chorus of complaints, but he didn’t care in the slightest, ”If you go back too late, it’ll be dark. When your parents ask questions, what will you say? Do you want to come again in the future?”

He had to take his friends and leave, ensuring they wouldn’t run into trouble.
