Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

”If you’re not my wife, then whose wife are you? Yan Huan, why don’t we stop waiting? Once you return, we’ll file the report and get married. We can live in my dorm first, and if that’s not available, I have enough savings to buy a house.” Ji Chuan couldn’t wait any longer—waiting too long might lead to unexpected changes.

That’s why he was eager to marry Yan Huan.

Getting married first and then falling in love could have its own charm.

”You’re dreaming. Ji Chuan, I told you, I haven’t forgiven you yet.” Laughter crept onto Yan Huan’s cheeks.

”I want to come see you, but I can’t! I really want to apologize to you in person.”

”If you can’t come, can’t you at least call?” Yan Huan complained. ”Even a phone call would have been nice!”

”As soon as you enter the training base, transportation is mostly on foot, and communication is basically shouting. I’m guessing there are only two phones in the command center, and nowhere else, right? Besides, you didn’t tell me either,” Ji Chuan replied helplessly, ”I wanted to know where your training was, but it’s military secret, can you leak it to me?”

”Hmph! Excuses. In that case, just wait. When I get back, you can apologize to me in person. Whether I’ll forgive you or not, we’ll see! That’s it, goodbye!” Yan Huan said with a smile and hung up the phone.

After the call ended, Yan Huan felt much more relaxed, as if a huge weight had been lifted from her shoulders.

Smiling, she walked out of the tent and saw Qin Jian standing outside, smoking.

”Feeling better?”

”Mm, sort of.” A slight curve appeared at the corner of Yan Huan’s mouth.

”Have you forgiven him?”

”In my heart, yes, but I haven’t forgiven him verbally. I need to give him a little taste of his own medicine. If he gets my forgiveness too easily, what if he doesn’t cherish me in the future?”

”Good idea.” Qin Jian smiled approvingly. ”If you’ve resolved your misunderstandings, then I’m relieved.”

He originally planned to put Ji Chuan on hold for a while, but he was heading to the division headquarters.

If Yan Huan didn’t call, he would have helped her.

It’s just a little lesson for Ji Chuan; even though he wasn’t really at fault, a relationship can’t take too many coincidences and mistakes.

He just hoped Ji Chuan and Yan Huan would cherish each other.

”Don’t worry.” Yan Huan stood smiling in front of Qin Jian. ”Commander Qin, don’t you think it’s about time to consider transferring that annoying Qiu Xinyi somewhere else?”

”That depends on whether there’s an opening in other groups.” Qin Jian gave a slight nod.

”Alright then! Commander Qin, please hurry, it concerns my and Ji Chuan’s happy life together.” Yan Huan pleaded with him.

”You have to maintain your own man. You have to learn some skills to counter unexpected things...” Qin Jian said meaningfully, leaving Yan Huan standing there alone.

Qin Jian hadn’t been home in a month, but today he managed to make time to spend two days at home with An Hao.

Since he was promoted to this commander’s position, his time with An Hao had been sparse. Now, with two more kids, Chenguang wasn’t around, but Chenyang was with them.

This little one is smart and quick-witted; every time he came back, he barely had time to be affectionate with his wife.

Xiaozhou, his orderly, had sent Qin Jian home.
