Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

”He Yueyue!” Wang Xiaohu still remembered her, the girl with two braids, her eyes as dark and bright as grapes, and her lovely little smile that could melt anyone’s heart.

But when she was angry, she was like a little wild cat, showing her sharp claws and pouncing at him.

”Wang Xiaohu!” He Yue also remembered Wang Xiaohu, the one who bullied her brother, she remembered it clearly.

”You still remember me?” Wang Xiaohu’s chubby face broke into a silly grin, he was quite happy to be remembered by such a pretty girl.

”Of course! You bullied my brother!” He Yue snorted, turning her head away from him.

”But... but that’s all in the past now, right?” Wang Xiaohu moved his feet forward, sat beside He Yueyue, and flashed a smile showing two big rows of teeth, ”He Yueyue, are you still mad at me?”

He Yue gave him a disdainful look, moved to the side, and put some distance between them: ”I’m not mad. I wouldn’t bother getting mad at someone as unreasonable as you.”

Wang Xiaohu felt ashamed, lowering his head. Once again, he was looked down upon by He Yue, and his whole demeanor deflated: ”I’m... I’m sorry! I promise I won’t bully your brother again, okay?”

”Are you sure?” He Yue turned her head upon hearing this, and the expression of disgust on her face was not as apparent anymore.

”Sure! Sure!” Wang Xiaohu nodded repeatedly.

He wanted to say a few more words to this girl named He Yueyue.

”Alright, I’ll remember what you said! If you bully my Brother Chenguang again, I’ll beat you every time I see you!” He Yueyue waved her little fist.

”You’d hit me?” Wang Xiaohu looked at He Yueyue’s serious face and couldn’t help but laugh, ”Do you think you can beat me?”

He Yueyue widened her eyes: ”Wanna try me?”

”I believe you, I believe you!” Wang Xiaohu quickly backed down and surrendered, ”So can you play with me now?”

He Yueyue let out a cold snort from her nose: ”We’ll see how you behave.”

Wang Xiaohu sensing that He Yueyue was less hostile towards him, happily offered the half-eaten ice cream in his hand to her: ”Here, for you!”

”No way.” He Yueyue wrinkled her nose with a face full of disdain, ”It’s covered in your slobber.”

”Then...” Wang Xiaohu rolled his eyes, thinking for a long time, ”Shall I take you to play with my friends? We can play house games, okay? You don’t know, but I have my own team, and I’m the commander of the team! They all have to listen to me.”

”You’re the commander?”

”Yeah!” Wang Xiaohu said proudly, puffing out his chest.

”Why are you the commander?”

”Because I’m the best fighter in the team!”

”What kind of hero is that!” He Yue pouted, full of disdain.

Wang Xiaohu scratched his head, embarrassed, and looked at He Yue: ”Tell me, what makes a hero?”

”Can you and your team catch kidnappers stealing children?” He Yue said loudly.

”Kidnappers stealing children...” It was the first time Wang Xiaohu heard such a question, a kid like him leading a team to catch kidnappers... it seemed a bit too hard, right?

”What? Afraid? Are you turning into a coward?” He Yue lifted her head to look at Wang Xiaohu.

”Afraid... who’s afraid!” Wang Xiaohu refused to back down, boasting immediately.
