Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

If Qiu Xinyi hadn’t gotten drunk tonight, fearing it would put the leader in a tough spot, he would never have carried her.

After the leader left, Ji Chuan looked down at his cuff with a face full of disgust and frowned: ”Can’t drink, but insists on showing off!”

”What? You seem to have complaints about Qiu Xinyi?” The dean only knew that Ji Chuan was usually quite arrogant.

But his attitude towards women has always been lukewarm; even if he dislikes someone, he never showed such an expression.

”Yes. Dean, I’m leaving. Please don’t invite me to these kinds of dinners again in the future.” Ji Chuan threw a stiff sentence and left.

”Hey, his temper really has grown.” The dean shook his head helplessly; there was no choice since he’s so fond of talented people.

A few years ago, he had already lost his beloved staff member Yan Ye due to a kidnapping case, which pained him enough.

So now, he poured all his expectations and love into Ji Chuan.

Although there were also outstanding doctors in the hospital, he preferred Ji Chuan’s type.

Hmm, three words can summarize his career: ”Doctor Crazy.”

He simply likes doctoring crazy people.

Ji Chuan rode his bicycle back to the hospital first, arriving late as usual. The first thing he did upon returning was to dive headfirst into his single dormitory, open the shower, and enjoy a hot shower.

The clothes he had changed out of were mercilessly tossed into the trash can.

.........

The next day, Qiu Xinyi naturally didn’t go to work again.

Early in the morning, Yan Huan was feeling agitated and revising her script. This month’s interview tasks were heavy, and she had to go to various companies for interviews tomorrow.

In the troupe, there were only a few news officers.

This month’s promotional tasks are quite heavy, so she has to continuously interview and write scripts, and also publish newsletters out of the troupe.

These tasks are already heavy enough, and unexpectedly, when Chief Qiu got sick, Qiu Xinyi’s tasks fell on her and Xiaomei.

Tan Xiaomei, although full of grievances, was still single.

And now that she’s so busy, she practically has no time to see Ji Chuan, even though they had previously agreed to fix up the house during one of their breaks.

She was actually very much looking forward to this.

Now, her time is fully occupied, and she has no time or energy to deal with anything else.

Hence, she is very annoyed.

When Tan Xiaomei arrived at the office and saw Yan Huan already working, she thought of last night’s events and was just about to tell Yan Huan when she suddenly saw her tear the paper in her hand with a ripping sound, scrunch it up and throw it into the wastebasket under the table.

”Yan Jie, what’s going on?” Tan Xiaomei saw Yan Huan angry and didn’t dare to immediately bring up what she saw last night.

”Annoying.” Yan Huan frowned and pushed the cup in front of her towards Tan Xiaomei, ”I’m not feeling well, go brew me some brown sugar water.”

”Is it that time?” Tan Xiaomei asked while pouring water.

”Yes.” Yan Huan nodded.

”No wonder you’re so irritated.”

”It’s not entirely because of that.” Yan Huan smoothed out the draft paper and picked up her pen again, ”I found out Qiu Xinyi unexpectedly took a long leave when I came in today.”

”Ah? Does this mean that the work has to be split between you and me again?” Tan Xiaomei said with a bitter face, ”Tell me, isn’t that annoying? Is it because her dad is the leader of the military region? She, a cadre child, insists on being special.”
