Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Watching Liu Qiaoqiao’s unlucky look, he even laughed out loud in his sleep at night.

”Shouldn’t we discuss our strategy and tactics then?”

”It’s so late now, let’s forget about it. It’s not urgent, we can have a small team meeting tomorrow and talk about it,” Ning Chenguang said.

”Alright, we’ll all listen to you. As long as you give the order, we agree to take action. We’ll defend your safety at all costs!” Pang Di chuckled.

”I don’t want you to die,” Ning Chenguang said with a smile, ”If anyone’s got to go, it should be those bad guys, right?”

”Exactly, exactly!”

After parting ways with Pang Di, the three of them returned home. At night, as Ning Chenguang lay in bed, he tossed and turned, unable to sleep.

”Guangguang, do you have something on your mind?” He Mu asked as he got up to pee, noticing Ning Chenguang tossing and turning.

”Brother He Mu, I’m still thinking about Zhao Ergou!” Ning Chenguang replied.

”Didn’t we all agree? We can have a meeting tomorrow and figure out how to deal with Zhao Ergou!” He Mu said.

”Actually, dealing with Zhao Ergou isn’t the main goal. Ultimately, the real trouble is Liu Qiaoqiao.”

”Then let’s handle Liu Qiaoqiao. For now, just stop thinking about it, look how late it is, I’m so sleepy...” He Mu’s voice trailed off as he quickly fell into a deep sleep.

Ning Chenguang also started to feel sleepy.

He closed his eyes, and soon after, he too fell asleep.

The next day, the scorching sun baked the earth.

Today was the day primary and middle school students got off school, with exams and assignments in the morning, and no school in the afternoon.

Starting today, the village kids would be in full-on play mode.

After school, a group of kids gathered at the mill for a team meeting.

This time they were targeting Zhao Ergou.

So, for this action, they aimed to devise a meticulous plan.

Not letting the villagers find out and keeping Zhao Ergou in the dark.

So, this plan posed some difficulty.

Pang Di, stepping in for the team leader, explained their mission and whom they wanted to protect.

Then he asked for opinions on the action: ”Everyone, let’s brainstorm and think of ways to punish the bad guy! Whoever has a good idea will be rewarded by our captain! The prize is two fruit jellies.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the team members started chiming in.

”Throw dead rats into his house! And don’t spare Liu Qiaoqiao’s house either.”

”Pour some manure in his yard. Liu Qiaoqiao’s place should get the same treatment.”

”Dig a trap to watch him fall in.”

”At night, cover his head with a big sack and give him a good beating! Liu Qiaoqiao shouldn’t be left out either.”

The myriad imaginative ideas and tricks made Ning Chenguang marvel at the power of the group.

”Everyone has great ideas, I heard them all!” Ning Chenguang stood up and said, ”When I get back, I’ll carefully consider everyone’s suggestions. In light of your excellent performance, I’ve decided that I’ll treat everyone to popsicles soon.”

”Oh! That’s awesome!” Cheers erupted in the mill.

”Wait a minute!” Pang Di quickly shouted, ”Captain, we used to have code names for our operations. You should give this one a code name too, so we can use it during our actions.”

Ning Chenguang thought briefly and said, ”Operation Dogbeat!”
