Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 297: Chapter 296: Discovering Business Opportunities

Denim jeans are an everlasting trend which An Hao quite liked, but the price was just too expensive for her.

As she hesitated, the group of people who were snatching up clothes had all made their purchases and left, leaving the shopkeeper alone in the store. An Hao approached him and struck up a conversation, ”Shopkeeper, everyone else sells them for so much more, why do you sell them so cheap? Since these are in high demand, why don’t you raise the price? Is it because you’re passing off inferior goods as top-quality?”

”Hey! Listen to you,” the shopkeeper looked around to make sure there was no one else nearby and whispered, ”To tell you the truth, these pants came over from Hong Kong, then to Guangzhou. After people in Guangzhou wholesale them, they sell them to different places. Then, various shops wholesale from different distribution points. That’s why the price goes up by a lot. I got my stock from a buddy of mine who quit the business, and he got rid of the inventory cheaply to me. So I’m selling it like this without hoarding goods, and I can still make some money to break even, and I keep bringing in new stock too.”

Hearing this, An Hao understood, ”I get it. But shopkeeper, are these denim jeans really selling that well?”

”Absolutely. Look how popular bell-bottoms are, denim jeans too. Denim attire in general is very hot right now, it’s just that it’s hard to find stock and the price is high. If everyone sold it like I do here, they could make a profit in a few days.”

The shopkeeper was a young man who loved to talk, especially since he saw that An Hao was beautiful, he was more than willing to chat her up.

When it comes to beautiful women, he never had any resistance.

People asked, and he told.

So, in just a few words, An Hao gathered all the information she wanted to know.

”How about it? Gorgeous, want to buy a pair?” the shopkeeper asked.

An Hao shook her head, ”No, it’s too expensive for me.”

”If you like them, just buy them,” Zhang Lanxiang kept urging An Hao, while speaking to the shopkeeper, ”Here, hand a pair over for us to try on.”

”Alright.” The shopkeeper glanced at An Hao and handed her the pair with the smallest waist, ”Here, give them a try, gorgeous.”

An Hao was going to refuse, but then she thought trying them on wouldn’t hurt, and maybe she could discuss more business opportunities with the shopkeeper.

She took the jeans, walked around the store, and picked up a white shirt saying, ”Let me pair these and see how they look.”

”Sure, feel free to try on any clothes here!” The shopkeeper was always generous to beautiful women.

An Hao went to the fitting room in the back, changed into the new outfit, and looked at herself in the large mirror, very satisfied with the way it looked on her.

Dressed like this, she felt as if she had traveled back to the year two thousand.

In the mirror, she appeared very neat and tidy, exuding an energetic and vibrant air, even she herself was quite pleased with the look.

As soon as she stepped out, the shopkeeper’s eyes widened, ”You’re so beautiful! You look even better than those movie stars!”

An Hao smiled shyly.

At that moment, passersby outside the store who saw An Hao and the effect of her outfit started to filter in and pointed at her, telling the shopkeeper, ”Shopkeeper, give me a set of what that girl is wearing to try on.”

”You got it.” The shopkeeper was overjoyed and called out loudly as he fetched the clothes.

In just a little while, a set of clothes had been sold.

In the time An Hao chatted with the shopkeeper in the store, he sold no less than ten outfits, delighted to the point where his smile was almost crooked.

He realized that as long as this beautiful girl was around, he wouldn’t have to worry about selling clothes.
