Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 284: Chapter 283: Taking the Exam

An Hao and Qin Jian came over, his hands laden with a lot of stuff.

”If it’s inconvenient to eat out at noon, you can eat these.” Qin Jian had thought it through, fearing that today many examinees would choose to dine out, where they could eat and also have a place to go to.

An Hao accepted the items with a giggle, ”So much stuff! It looks like there’s enough here for me to eat for three days. Aren’t you afraid I’ll eat too much and fall asleep in the exam room?”

Qin Jian’s lips curved slightly, ”Sure! Then when you wake up, pack your things and come home to prepare to marry me!”

He hadn’t spelled it out, but his meaning was clear.

If you end up sleeping in the examination hall, how can you pass the university entrance exam?

If you don’t get into university, then there’s no need for you to study, and you can just obediently stay at home waiting to turn twenty and then marry me.

”Dream on!” An Hao laughed, her gaze intense as she looked at him, ”I want to get into Medical University, I want to stand by your side and strive forward together!”

Qin Jian liked An Hao’s spunk. Gazing at the girl whose smile was brighter than the sun in July, he nodded with a smile, ”Okay!”

Dinglingling~ The sound from the school’s loudspeakers carried the announcer’s voice: ”Attention all examinees, there is half an hour left before the examination. Please line up for entry into the examination hall!”

An Hao took her bag from the car, looked up at Qin Jian and said, ”I’m going to enter the examination hall now! You should head back to your job!”

”Okay. I’ll come to pick you up after the exams this afternoon!” Qin Jian said.

”No need, I can go back by myself.”

”I insist on my principles! Please don’t refuse!”

Looking at Qin Jian’s earnest expression, An Hao couldn’t help but chuckle, ”Okay!”

Qin Jian cracked a faint smile.

An Hao rarely saw him smile; catching such a rare glimpse of his smile excited her momentarily.

As she turned to enter the school gate, she walked a few steps, then suddenly turned back, walked up to Qin Jian, went on tiptoes, and gave him a quick, dragonfly-like kiss on the neck.

Qin Jian’s eyes suddenly widened, his dark pupils reflecting An Hao’s sweet smile.

”I’m off!” An Hao waved at him, and her figure flitted through the school gate like a red butterfly.

This entire scene was witnessed by Song Yueqin, whose heart had only just calmed down after over a month, and at that moment, flames of jealousy raged once more!

An Hao! An Hao!

Lucky you, An Hao!

All the examinees were gradually entering the examination hall to prepare, and based on the seating numbers, she and Song Yueqin happened to be in the same room.

Moreover, she and An Hao were seated one behind the other.

If this were before, she would have been overjoyed, because being next to An Hao meant that if the teacher wasn’t strict during the exam, perhaps she could copy some of An Hao’s answers.

But now, she couldn’t feel any joy at all, her relationship with An Hao had become as hostile as fire and water, and she absolutely did not believe An Hao would help her.

The exam started, and the first subject in the morning was Chinese.

Over the past month, Song Yueqin’s mind had been preoccupied with Qin Jian and An Hao’s betrothal, with no mood to revise. Having just seen that scene, her heart was thrown into disarray.

Looking at the exam paper, she couldn’t calm her mind, and everything appeared confusing to her.

The more she didn’t know the answers, the more anxious she became.

With anxiety, she almost forgot all the knowledge she had learned, her eyes desperately fixed on An Hao answering questions, feeling like a hundred cats were scratching at her heart.
