Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 261: Chapter 259: Suddenly Going Crazy

”I’m representing Old An in the visit. Your mother’s grave has been out there in the wind and rain for about five years already, right? During the five years since marrying into your family, I’ve never once visited her. Lately, I’ve been dreaming about her a lot. I think maybe she wants to see what I’m like, to check if I’ve been treating Old An and you all poorly?” Bai Xue fabricated a story, ”So I’ll go with you to visit.”

An Hao was clueless about what Bai Xue was plotting, but she knew that Bai Xue must absolutely not show up at her mother’s grave.

So she adamantly tried to stop her.

An Shuchao saw how resolute An Hao was about this matter, so he reluctantly gave up, ”Xue Mei, if An Hao doesn’t want you to go, then forget it. After all, it would be inappropriate for you to be there!”

Bai Xue, seeing that Old An did not side with her this time, was very displeased.

This time, she had planned to put on an act of being possessed by a ghost! If she didn’t make a round at the graveyard, who would believe her?

As Bai Xue was pondering this, An Hao had already left the house with An Ping.

The weather this day was not great, with a fine mist drifting down from the sky. An Hao and An Ping had cried at their mother’s grave, burned some joss paper, and started heading back.

All the way back, An Hao’s eyelids kept twitching.

She had a constant bad premonition, sensing that something was about to happen.

Bai Xue’s reaction this morning had been a bit too abnormal.

As An Ping and An Hao walked and talked, noticing that An Hao hadn’t responded for quite a while, An Ping turned his head to see An Hao looking straight ahead, her face expressionless, not knowing what she was truly thinking.

”Sis, what’s wrong?” An Ping asked.

”I don’t know. I just feel that Bai Xue was a bit abnormal today, so I’m feeling a bit uneasy,” An Hao replied truthfully.

”Sis, don’t overthink it. We didn’t let Bai Xue off lightly before, I’m guessing she wouldn’t dare to stir up any more trouble,” An Ping said.

”I hope that’s the case.”

The siblings had just reached the entrance of the village when they saw an unusual scene.

Bai Xue usually cared about her hair and never stepped outside her door. Why was she mingling with the village gossips today?

Bai Xue was chatting and laughing heartily with people, and when she saw An Hao approaching, she stepped out from the crowd, smiling politely, and asked An Hao, ”How was it? Did you burn paper for your mother?”

”Yes,” An Hao nodded, not saying anything more, and continued walking back home.

”Hey, did you mention me when you were at the grave? I’ve been dreaming about your mother a lot lately,” Bai Xue shouted after An Hao was far away.

An Hao didn’t even bother to respond to her.

”Xue Mei, what were you talking about just now?” the women in the village asked.

Bai Xue heaved sighs, ”I don’t know what’s been going on with me these few days, I just keep dreaming about An Hao’s mom. Look at my hair, don’t you find it strange? It was fine one night and when I woke up the next morning, I was bald as a coot. You’d agree I couldn’t have shaved it myself, right? So I worried that An Hao’s mom came back. You see, it’s her death anniversary, and I thought I’d ask An Hao to say a prayer for me at the grave.”

”You’re scaring us with what you’re saying.”

”I’m not trying to scare you, but this is really what’s happening...” Bai Xue was saying when she suddenly stopped and stared straight ahead with wide eyes that looked very frightening.

The village women saw Bai Xue acting abnormally. Just as they were about to ask her what was wrong, she collapsed to the ground, convulsing as if having a seizure, trembling all over.
