Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 288: Chapter 287 He’s Here

An Hao searched around the classroom thoroughly, and after all the examinees had dispersed and the exam papers had been loaded onto a vehicle and taken to the examination center, she still couldn’t find a trace of that leader.

Her sweat soaked through her clothes from running, yet it was all in vain.

The thought of the university she had longed for now being out of reach sliced through An Hao’s heart like a knife.

The school felt empty, and she sat on the classroom steps by herself, with an indescribable taste of sorrow in her heart.

Suddenly, Song Yueqin’s voice rang in An Hao’s ears, ”How does it feel? Hurts, doesn’t it? An Hao, if I can’t go to college, don’t you dare dream of a bright future!”

”Song Yueqin!” An Hao stood up and slapped Song Yueqin’s face with a swing of her hand, ”You set me up on purpose! You did it on purpose!”

Song Yueqin couldn’t dodge in time and took a heavy slap to the face.

An Hao had put all her strength into that slap, hard enough that blood started trickling from the corner of Song Yueqin’s mouth.

Shen Zhihua found An Hao, saw her glaring with wide eyes, trembling all over, and still wanting to beat Song Yueqin mercilessly, so he quickly grabbed her hand, ”An Hao, stop fighting, let’s talk this out!”

”What’s left to say! She ruined my future! She did it on purpose! Such a malicious woman! I can’t forgive her! I just can’t!” An Hao seemed to have lost her mind, intent on hitting Song Yueqin.

Shen Zhihua was afraid the situation would escalate and affect tomorrow’s college entrance exam, so he tried his best to intervene and hold An Hao back.

Taking the opportunity, Song Yuqin ran away!

An Hao’s fury had nowhere to vent, and her eyes brimmed with tears!

She was not resigned! Absolutely not resigned!

No matter what, she wanted Song Yueqin to pay a severe price!

”Don’t panic! Please don’t panic, I’ll think of a solution with you!” Seeing her eyes turning red, Shen Zhihua quickly comforted her.

”What can you do?” An Hao slowly sat down on the steps outside the classroom, her eyes fixed on the ground, anger and sorrow entwining in her heart.

Indeed! What could he do?

The two of them sat on the ground in silence, just watching the sunset sink bit by bit.

”Why are you sitting here and not going back after the exam?” A deep and mellow voice came from afar, and An Hao looked up toward the distance.

In the afterglow of the setting sun, a tall figure approached, an anxious and worried look upon his handsome face.

Qin Jian had arrived!

An Hao stood up, watching as the figure came nearer and nearer until Qin Jian stood before her.

”You’ve come...” She managed to say before a lump formed in her throat.

Seeing the abnormal state of An Hao, Qin Jian’s face revealed a hint of tension, ”What happened? Did the test not go well?”

An Hao shook her head, biting her lower lip, trying hard to hold back her tears from falling.

”Song Yueqin framed her for cheating,” Shen Zhihua summarized the incident briefly for Qin Jian.

Qin Jian frowned, a chilling glint flashing in his eyes, ”Don’t worry, I will find a way to clear this up.”

”Really?” An Hao was somewhat incredulous.

”I never lie,” Qin Jian said sternly, and seeing An Hao’s disheartened look as she lowered her head, a tremor went through his heart, and he impulsively embraced her tightly.

This was the first time Qin Jian had held her like this.

The moment she was pulled into his arms, An Hao felt his solid muscles and broad chest.

Suddenly, all her panic and worries dissipated, and she felt a sense of security with Qin Jian she had never known before.

Shen Zhihua watched the two embrace, the light in his eyes dimming, and he silently turned away, leaving without a word.

An Hao was held in Qin Jian’s arms for a long time. He was reluctant to let go, and she didn’t want him to either.

During the height of summer, both were very hot, and they sweated from the prolonged embrace, but An Hao was infatuated with that comforting feeling in his arms.
