Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 294: Chapter 293: Wait for Me to Be Free and I’ll Accompany You

”It’s bound to happen sooner or later,” Qin Jian said, and upon finishing, opened the car door inviting An Hao to get in.

The car slowly traveled on the road back to the village, gazing at the twilight that filled the sky, An Hao’s mood reached an ultimate high.

Noticing that An Hao was in good spirits, Qin Jian’s lips curved into a faint smile as he asked her, ”What do you plan to do at home over the next few days?”

”Sleep,” An Hao answered without hesitation, ”I’ve been busy reviewing and haven’t rested well, so I plan to catch up on sleep, waking up naturally every day.”

”Alright. You’re free now,” Qin Jian said.

”Yeah,” An Hao nodded, leaning back in the rear seat, looking out at the sky with a touch of emotion, ”Qin Jian, do you know? I can hardly imagine having days like this again, it’s so wonderful... it really is great.”

Having the opportunity to relive her life was nothing short of a blessing from the heavens.

It allowed her to meet Qin Jian again, share common memories, and enjoy a beautiful romance.

It enabled her to take the high school exams, and if she could be admitted to a university, she would have a fresh start in life!

Of course, Qin Jian didn’t understand what An Hao was thinking at the moment; he thought An Hao meant it was good to have a long holiday to rest after the exams.

”It’s great indeed, but you can’t always stay at home huddled up. I’ll be going back to the city in a couple of days, would you like to come along? Sister Lan Xiang has mentioned you several times,” Qin Jian asked.

”Sister Lan Xiang? You mean, the section chief’s wife?”

”That’s right, her.”

”Let’s go, let’s go! I’ll go with you; just don’t forget to let me know when you’re going. She made a dress for me. I have to thank her in person.” And she would take the opportunity to look around the city to see if there were any suitable business opportunities.

No matter whether she got into university, she had to find something to do to earn money to sustain her life.

No, not just to sustain her life!

She wanted to earn more money, find a way to wealth, and ensure that her father and brother could have a better life.

”I will tell you when I go,” Qin Jian said.

When they returned to the village, Qin Jian dropped An Hao off at the entrance of the village.

”Aren’t you coming back with me?” An Hao blinked at him, ”Just because I’ve finished my exams, don’t you want to celebrate with me? When I came for the exam today, my dad also mentioned, inviting you to have dinner at our house tonight.”

Qin Jian reached out through the window, unable to resist stroking An Hao’s head, ”Not this time; I will celebrate specially for you on the day you receive your college entrance exam acceptance letter! Today, I have to go back. The research institute still has some matters that I need to deal with.”

Although An Hao was reluctant, there was nothing she could do about it.

She nodded, a hint of subtle loss appearing in the corner of her eyes, ”Alright then, you should go! We’ll meet again another day.”

Seeing the light in An Hao’s eyes fade, Qin Jian also felt a slight pang of heartache. Wasn’t it the same for him?

He had never known the taste of affection before, but now that he had a woman who constantly weighed on his mind, how could he not wish to spend more time with her? However, he couldn’t neglect his work responsibilities.

With a significant work presentation coming up in just over a month, along with the startup of a new project to delve into, it was a crucial time for intensive preparation.

Time was tight, and he needed to balance his work with his romantic life.

Thinking of the look of unwillingness on the face of his future wife, Qin Jian felt a sweet sorrow within him.

As they were about to part ways and say goodbye, Qin Jian suddenly pulled An Hao close and gently kissed her forehead, ”I’ll spend time with you once I’m not so busy!”
