Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 267: Chapter 265: Heaven Sends Disasters Your Way

Li Junping thought, wasn’t that birthday her son Qin Jian’s? Could it be that Bai Yanjiao was destined to be with her son?

Realizing this, she felt a bit suspicious.

She didn’t want her son to marry An Hao because the An family was poor and rumored to have bad fortune, so she was even more opposed to letting him marry An Hao.

But not wanting An Hao didn’t mean she liked Bai Yanjiao.

That witch Liu had said it would be smooth, but whether it was truly smooth or not, who could tell?

On this point, Li Junping still had some sense.

Not to mention anything else, but if Qin Jian married Bai Yanjiao, would the household ever be at peace?

With Bai Yanjiao’s uncle and grandmother’s family coming over every so often to annoy them, nobody could stand it.

By now, An Hao had completely understood the intentions of these two, wasn’t it just using the pretense of gods and spirits to deceive Li Junping into persuading her son to give up on her, An Hao?

Then, they would take the opportunity to push Bai Yanjiao forward and make Liu Junping take a fancy to her.

An Hao’s heart sneered repeatedly; it truly was as the saying goes, ”To the shameless, no opponent is invincible!”

Did they really think Qin Jian’s mother could speak for Qin Jian?

Could a modern-day soldier really be blinded by a shaman’s performance?

Since the conversation had come to this point, An Hao felt it would be remiss not to ”greet” the witch Liu, ”Witch Liu, isn’t it? If these so well-matched individuals can’t get married, won’t there be a disaster?”

Witch Liu pretended to calculate and then said, ”You’re right. I’ve calculated, and it’s indeed as you said. Neither of them would end well. The man would end up with his family scattered, and the woman would face the destruction of her home and death. In short, both would not meet a good end, right?”

Listening to this, Li Junping couldn’t hold back any longer and jumped out of the crowd to scold, ”You spout nonsense! Full of bluster! Don’t you slander my son Qin Jian like that.”

”What I said is true. If you don’t believe it, that’s your choice, but dare curse a sage and be careful the Heavens bring disaster upon you!” Witch Liu said angrily.

Watching Li Junping’s face turn red with anger, she was already irritable at heart; hearing these words only agitated her further.

She was about to quarrel with Witch Liu but was stopped by the people around her: ”Madam Qin, do not be impulsive. It’s commonly said that Witch Liu is quite accurate. You may offend the gods if you cross her.”

”Who knows if she’s just making things up? Just opening her mouth to bring disaster to this family, to bring disaster to that family. I wonder if she isn’t just fooling people?”

Some believed her, while others did not.

The yard turned into a complete mess.

An Hao glanced outside the door, saw An Ping pinching his nose and carrying a bucket of manure back, and she smiled, picking up Witch Liu’s line, ”I don’t know if the Heavens will bring her disaster, but I do know that the Heavens are about to bring you disaster now. Why don’t you calculate and see what disaster the Heavens will bring you?”

Hearing what An Hao said, Witch Liu’s eyes flared open.

Somebody had already seen An Ping coming with the bucket of manure, and understanding An Hao’s words, they started to heckle and stir the pot: ”Yeah, take a guess!”

Witch Liu was a bit stunned, looking at the smile on An Hao’s lips; she had an ominous feeling, as if a chill was running down her spine.

”Don’t talk nonsense, if you anger the Heavens you won’t eat good fruit...”

”Exactly, An Hao, be careful with your careless words!” Bai Xue interrupted.

An Hao smiled slightly and called out to An Ping, ”Come on, let’s chase these two unclean things out of our yard, to drive away the evil spirits!”

”Alright! Make way, ladies!” An Ping bellowed, lifting the bucket and with a swoosh, splashing the manure onto Bai Xue and Witch Liu in the yard.

”Oh my goodness!”
