Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 290: Chapter 289: Give You a Satisfactory Explanation

If the comparison had been made at that time, perhaps the situation would have been clear.

But the students in the classroom harbored different thoughts; those who supported her and wanted to help were flustered, while those who didn’t know her thought she had cheated.

There were probably some who were thinking competitively, considering that if her score were invalidated, there would be one fewer spot for college admission.

So, a variety of reasons led to this problem.

Since a solution had been found, there was only the matter of how to implement it.

This seemed to be the more challenging part for the time being.

”Qin Jian, we now have a way to solve the problem, but the test papers have already been sent to the grading center. Besides, how do we discuss this with the exam supervision leaders? This is going to be difficult!” Just as her mood had begun to improve, it plummeted again.

”Don’t worry, leave this matter to me. I’ll give you a satisfactory resolution!” Qin Jian said with absolute confidence.

”Really?” An Hao’s eyes suddenly lit up.

Qin Jian curved his lips and nodded gently, ”Really!”

That night, after sending An Hao back home, Qin Jian immediately drove back to the city.

The college entrance examination is a very serious affair, and under such circumstances, it’s impossible to access the already archived test papers.

He was just an engineer at a research institute and certainly couldn’t look at the test papers, but since it concerned An Hao’s future, he had to find a way.

Especially since An Hao was wronged.

He absolutely couldn’t just sit by and do nothing.

Qin Jian didn’t have the capability himself, but that didn’t mean others lacked the ability.

Around seven in the evening, Qin Jian drove to the family compound of the research institute, where he sought help from Zhang Jianguo.

As soon as he entered, he saw that Zhang Jianguo’s family had just finished dinner. Seeing Qin Jian at this hour was a surprise.

”Qin Jian? Why have you come at this time? Have you eaten? Should I ask your sister-in-law to make you some food?”

”I’ve already eaten, Chief. I’ve come to ask for your help with something about An Hao,” Qin Jian said.

”An Hao?” Zhang Jianguo was a bit puzzled. ”Wasn’t she taking the college entrance exam today?”

”Yes. There was a bit of an accident in the examination room.” Qin Jian briefly explained the situation and stated his request, ”Chief, you know more leaders, could you please communicate with the local education bureau?”

”Communication is a must!” Zhang Jianguo said with righteous indignation, ”Such behavior is absolutely detestable! Although we’re not in education, we must prevent such things from happening! That Yueqin must pay for her mistakes! With her corrupted thoughts and morals, incompetent herself, she even frames others! If she isn’t held accountable for her actions, who knows what crazier things she might do in the future!”

”You’re right, Chief!”

After speaking, Jianguo went to call an old friend—Liang Tianzuo, a leader in the city responsible for education. After hearing about the situation, he took it very seriously.

He sent out an overnight notice—the matter had to be thoroughly investigated!

After the call, Zhang Jianguo came over, smiling at Qin Jian and said, ”You really care about your little wife. Rushing over here in the middle of the night, wouldn’t a phone call have sufficed?”

”A phone call wouldn’t have been clear enough!” Qin Jian said. ”This concerns someone’s life and future prospects. Whether it’s An Hao or not, since I know about it, I need to report the situation.”

Chief Zhang chuckled, ”If it weren’t An Hao, you wouldn’t have run over here in the middle of the night, right? Okay, I know what’s in your heart. It seems this little wife has filled your whole heart!”

............

The next day, Qin Jian still took An Hao to the exam. On the way, he cautioned her, ”Take the exam seriously, don’t let the previous incident affect you. You’ll definitely get a satisfactory answer today!”

”Really?” An Hao asked joyfully.

”Trust me!” Qin Jian looked into her eyes with absolute certainty.

PS: The college entrance examination in the 80s did include geography, and although it was divided into arts and sciences, it wasn’t like the current art and science comprehensive exams. Nor was it like now where you would first take a qualifying examination.

Those who don’t know can ask Baidu! Since 2003, the college entrance examination was moved forward from July to June.
