Building a Technological Power Starting with the Type 59 missile and Going Astray in Technological Development

Chapter 52: Be Determined to Draw the SwordChapter 52: Be Determined to Draw the Sword

Lin Chenran looked at Elder Wei firmly and said seriously, ”Elder Wei, don’t worry, I know what’s going on.”

He paused and continued, ”Sometimes, we must have the courage and determination to show our sword. If we keep it hidden, it will only encourage others’ arrogance and fail to deter hostile forces.”

Then, Lin Chenran explained: ”And other countries have already formed a fixed impression of us, thinking that we will only expose the previous generation of technology when we have more powerful weapons and equipment.”

Then, he changed the subject: ”But this time we are going to do the opposite and take the initiative to announce that we have a more advanced special steel.”

”Be true and false, and make it hard for the hostile forces to figure it out!”

Hearing this, the expression on Wei Lao’s face became very serious. He stared at Lin Chenran with wide eyes and said in a deep voice: ”Humph, don’t think I don’t know what you are planning.”

”Aren’t you just trying to take this opportunity to promote your 077 Mechanical Military Factory’s second-generation main battle tanks? You’re doing everything you can to achieve this!”

However, Mr. Wei did not directly reject Lin Chenran’s proposal.

He changed his tone and said slowly, ”I will report your idea to my superiors. As for how the superiors decide, that is not something I can interfere with.”

Although Mr. Wei did not explicitly express support or opposition.

Sometimes, if you don’t support or oppose, there is still hope.

What I fear most is being rejected on the spot; that’s a real rejection!

Lin Chenran had a faint smile on his face and said sincerely, ”Mr. Wei, thank you very much for your strong support and concern for the 077 Machinery Military Factory.”

Hearing this, Elder Wei quickly waved his hand and interrupted Lin Chenran: ”Hey, Xiao Lin, please don’t talk nonsense. I have never supported your 077 Mechanical Military Factory.”

Lin Chenran was stunned for a moment, but quickly reacted and nodded repeatedly in response: ”Yes, yes, you are right, you really have never supported us!”

The two looked at each other, and then burst into laughter at the same time. They understood each other’s intentions in an instant.

……

Immediately afterwards, Lin Chenran warmly invited Wei Lao and others to visit the scientific laboratory of the 077 Mechanical Arsenal.

When they walked into the laboratory, they found a group of engineers working intensely and orderly, focusing on the design and development of various projects.

Looking at the busy scene in front of him, Lin Chenran proudly introduced to Mr. Wei: ”Mr. Wei, this is the core and most important place of our 077 Mechanical Military Factory. It can be said to be the ’soul’ of our factory.”

Elder Wei looked around, carefully observing everything in the laboratory, then nodded slightly in approval: ”Well, very good!”

In the next hour, Mr. Wei carefully inspected the conditions in each workshop and production line, and had cordial conversations with the workers to understand their work and living conditions.

Through this comprehensive inspection, Mr. Wei gained a deeper understanding and knowledge of the overall operation of the 077 Machinery Arsenal.

Under the leadership of Lin Chenran, the 077 Mechanical Arsenal has demonstrated strong vitality and potential. Employees are passionately committed to their work, and everyone has a bright smile on their face.

With all the welfare benefits provided, employees will definitely work hard to give back to the factory and Lin Chenran.

Afterwards, Lin Chenran sent Wei Lao and others to the guesthouse of the 077 Mechanical Military Factory.

He also explained that Zhu Lao and others would come tomorrow morning, and that distinguished guests from the Saudi Kingdom in the Camel area would also be present.

Lin Chenran’s underlying intention was to ask Mr. Wei to help ”calm the situation down.”

……

Time passed quickly, and before we knew it, the eastern sky turned pale, the sun slowly rose from the sea level, and the warm sunlight sprinkled on the earth.

Lin Chenran was ”awakened” by the strong sunlight. He rubbed his eyes, stretched, and then sat up quickly. He did not stay in bed as usual, but immediately got out of bed and went to the bathroom to wash up.

Today is a special day for him. It is the turn of the 077 Mechanical Military Factory to ”stand out” and open up the international arms sales market!
As the director of the 077 Mechanical Arsenal, he naturally needed to be present on site in person to take command.

……

Lin Chenran and others arrived at the building of 077 Mechanical Military Factory early, quietly waiting for the arrival of Zhu Lao and others.

Not long after, the roar of a car reached the ears of Lin Chenran and others.

Everyone’s eyes were cast towards the road in the distance, expecting Mr. Zhu and others to appear.

Sure enough, after a while, several cars slowly appeared in everyone’s sight.

These vehicles are from the fleet of the 617 Mechanical Arsenal.

”Mr. Zhu, they are coming!”

Lin Chenran’s mouth corners slightly raised, revealing a faint smile.

Soon, the convoy of the 617 Mechanical Arsenal arrived at its destination and slowly stopped in front of the building of the 077 Mechanical Arsenal.

Immediately afterwards, Mr. Zhu and his group got out of the car one after another.

”Mr. Zhu, thank you so much!” Lin Chenran walked up to Mr. Zhu enthusiastically and shook hands tightly to express his gratitude.

Zhu Lao smiled and replied: ”No trouble, this is what we should do, everything is for the country.”

Then, he added: ”I would like to congratulate you, the 077 Mechanical Arsenal, for successfully developing such a strong special steel. Come and learn from it.”

Lin Chenran responded modestly: ”Thank you for the compliment, Mr. Zhu. This is the result of the hard work of everyone at our 077 Mechanical Arsenal.”

”Welcome Mr. Zhu to come to our factory to share his experience. It is an honor for our 077 Machinery Military Factory.”

Mr. Zhu smiled and said, ”Come, let’s check the goods first.”

Afterwards, under the guidance of Mr. Zhu, everyone came to the truck loaded with T72 tanks.

At the signal from Mr. Zhu, the workers of the 617 Mechanical Military Factory carefully lifted the ”waterproof cloth” covering the vehicle, revealing the ”true face” inside - a T72 tank!

Everyone’s eyes were cast towards this mighty and majestic tank, with excitement and anticipation flashing in their eyes.

They couldn’t help but immerse themselves in their own thoughts, imagining how great it would be if the country could also independently produce and manufacture such a powerful tank.

Lin Chenran looked at the familiar T72 tank and did not immerse himself in thoughts like the others. Instead, he immediately signaled Mr. Zhu to cover the tank with the waterproof cloth.

Mr. Zhu understood immediately and covered it with a waterproof cloth!
Lin Chenran said calmly: ”Mr. Zhu, I will arrange for someone to take you to the test site first.”

”And I will also entertain a group of distinguished guests from the Saudi Kingdom in the Camel Region.”

”In the afternoon, we conduct various tests.”

When Mr. Zhu heard that Lin Chenran was entertaining the distinguished guests from the Saudi Kingdom in the Camel Area, a bright smile broke out on his face.

Mr. Zhu knew very well what this meant.
