Building a Technological Power Starting with the Type 59 missile and Going Astray in Technological Development

Chapter 22 Lin Chenran: The military doesn't want it? Then I'll export it.Chapter 22 Lin Chenran: The military doesn’t want it? Then I’ll export it.
The strength of the 077 Mechanical Military Factory was well known to the many senior executives of the Mechanical Military Factory present.

Although they have a relatively solid tank manufacturing foundation and have produced the Type 59 tank on a contract basis.

But it is still slightly inferior to any other mechanical military factory present.

077 Machinery Military Factory’s magical modification of the Type 59 civilian engineering vehicle?
It was just a lucky success, ”a blind cat catching a dead mouse”.

However, things are different now. In the second-generation tank design and development plan of the 077 Mechanical Military Factory, its main weapon is actually the same as that of the 617 Mechanical Military Factory and the 625 Mechanical Military Factory, both of which use a 120mm smoothbore gun.

”This……”

Everyone was surprised, it was really impressive.

Especially Mr. Wei, who was sitting in the main seat, was extremely shocked.

Originally, he believed that the 617 Mechanical Arsenal and the 625 Mechanical Arsenal would enter the finals of the second-generation main battle tank bidding conference.

The 077 Mechanical Arsenal is just a foil.

What surprised him was that the 077 Mechanical Arsenal actually made it to the final.

No, because time is very precious.

In order to prevent leaks, Mr. Wei asked the representatives of the eliminated mechanical military factory to evacuate the meeting room first.

Representatives from several mechanical military factories left the meeting room with reluctance on their faces.

After everyone had left, Elder Wei smiled and congratulated Lin Chenran and the other two: ”Congratulations, everyone!”

”The second-generation main battle tank solution you designed and developed has successfully entered the final round.”

Then Mr. Wei said half-jokingly, ”I really didn’t expect that the 077 Mechanical Arsenal could make it to the final round.”

”I originally estimated that the 617th Mechanical Arms Factory and the 625th Mechanical Arms Factory would make it to the final round.”

”Director Lin, I didn’t expect that your 077 Mechanical Military Factory’s design and development capabilities are so strong!” (In public, people are addressed by their job titles)
Facing Mr. Wei’s praise, Lin Chenran was very humble. He responded, ”Mr. Wei, you are too kind. Actually, we ourselves did not expect to make it to the finals.”

”We came to the military’s second-generation tank bidding conference with the attitude of learning from it.”

Then Lin Chenran joked: ”Even if our second-generation tank design and development plan is not favored by the military, we have other ways out. We can sell it abroad.”

His nonchalant look instantly made everyone present burst into laughter.

That’s it!

The 077 Mechanical Military Factory came to the Yan State military’s second-generation tank bidding conference to try its luck.

Even if the Yan country military really looks down on the second-generation tank program they designed and developed, they still have the ability to export the military.

All of this is thanks to the Type 59 civilian engineering vehicle.

Today, the sales of Type 59 civilian engineering vehicles have increased significantly not only in China.

We have also successfully opened up overseas sales channels.

Especially for those developing countries, their demand for civilian engineering vehicles is very large.

The Type 59 civilian engineering vehicle from Yan Country is quite affordable.

The money used to buy a civilian engineering vehicle in a developed country can buy two Type 59 civilian engineering vehicles.

In addition, the Type 59 civilian engineering vehicle is of high quality and very powerful.

The most critical and important point is the after-sales maintenance and guarantee service provided by the 077 Machinery Military Factory.

Its level is far ahead of other peer companies in the industry.

This move directly led to many civilian engineering vehicle companies following suit, and they successively improved the maintenance guarantee of their own products.

Why does this phenomenon occur?

The reason is actually very simple, it is precisely because the 077 Machinery Military Factory is too strong. Take the Type 59 civilian engineering vehicle as an example, no matter which aspect, it is far superior to other competitors.

If these civilian engineering vehicle companies continue with their past after-sales maintenance model of delays, confusion, and even random charges.

It can be predicted that one day their share in the civilian engineering vehicle market will be completely taken away by the 077 Machinery Military Factory.

It is impossible to reduce the price.

Then they choose to improve the quality of after-sales maintenance services.

In this way, they can still have a considerable sales market.

The interests of the engineers who went abroad for maintenance might be harmed, but in the face of the overall interests, we have to sacrifice them.

Then Mr. Wei signaled Su Yiming to continue explaining the design and development plan of the second-generation main battle tank of their 625 Mechanical Arsenal.

Su Yiming did not hesitate to continue to carefully introduce the plan of the second-generation main battle tank designed and developed by his own mechanical military factory.

At this moment, Lin Chenran in the audience frowned more and more as he listened, and his doubts became more and more serious: ”This...”

He muttered to himself: ”Isn’t this an improved version of the Type 79 main battle tank?”

Lin Chenran stared wide-eyed and carefully observed the design and development drawings of the 625 Mechanical Arsenal on the stage. After confirming that there was no doubt about it, his heart was filled with shock and confusion.

Yes, it is the Type 79 tank. (Note: The Type 79 tank in this article has not yet been born, so please do not connect it to the real world.)
The only difference is that the main weapon has been replaced with a more powerful 120mm smoothbore gun.

But otherwise not much seems to have changed.

Suddenly, a thought flashed through Lin Chenran’s mind, and he suddenly became enlightened.

He remembered that the Type 79 tank was produced by the 625 Mechanical Arsenal.

Lin Chenran couldn’t help but pat his head and said to himself: ”Oh! So that’s it! Why didn’t I think of it earlier!”

At this moment, he finally understood why he had a sense of déjà vu.

Since the design and development plan of the second-generation tank of the 625 Mechanical Arsenal is the Type 79 tank.

So what is the 617 Mechanical Arsenal?

Lin Chenran secretly wondered in his heart: Could it be a Type 80 tank?

The thought kept lingering in his mind.

Next, after Mr. Zhu came on stage to introduce the design and development plan of the second-generation tank of the 617 Mechanical Military Factory, Lin Chenran’s idea was verified.

After Su Yiming finished introducing in detail the design and development plan of his own second-generation main battle tank, the entire venue fell into a boiling atmosphere, and thunderous applause came from the audience.

Among them, the reaction of the Yan State military was the strongest.

They were full of praise for the second-generation tank design and development plan proposed by the 625 Mechanical Arsenal.

In terms of firepower, this second-generation main battle tank is equipped with a powerful 120mm smoothbore gun that can easily penetrate enemy armor;
In terms of speed, it is equipped with the domestically developed 12150L-7BW diesel engine.

Its rated power is as high as 580 horsepower, and its rated speed reaches an amazing 2000 rpm! Such a powerful power system gives the tank lightning-fast mobility.

What is most eye-catching is its innovative breakthrough in armored defense.

The second-generation main battle tank uses the most advanced special steel material, which is not only extremely strong.

It can effectively resist attacks from various weapons and also has excellent ballistic resistance and lightweight characteristics.

This undoubtedly provides solid and reliable protection for the tank, making it an indestructible mobile fortress on the battlefield.

After Su Yiming came down, Mr. Zhu from the 617 Mechanical Military Factory came to the stage to introduce the design and development plan of his own second-generation tank.
