Chapter 48 80mm Special Steel Plate: I resist! I resist! I can still resist!Chapter 48 80mm Special Steel Plate: I resist! I resist! I can still resist!
Use vibranium material as a template to create new special steel.

”Yes, we have made it.” Hu Xiaofan, head of the special steel project, said excitedly.

His voice was trembling.

”We followed the formula given by Director Lin and after many tests, we finally produced a new special steel.”

As Hu Xiaofan spoke, he picked up a piece of gray metal from the table and showed it to everyone.

This special steel does not look much different from ordinary steel, but if you look closely, you can see that its surface has subtle texture and gloss.

”You can see that although this piece of metal is only a few millimeters thick, it is extremely hard, even stronger than ordinary steel,” Hu Xiaofan explained.

”It’s even stronger than the special steel used by the domestic military.”

”Not only that, it also has good toughness and corrosion resistance, and can withstand pressure and temperature changes in extreme environments.”

Hearing this, everyone present showed surprised expressions.

They are well aware of the importance of this special steel.

If it can really achieve what Hu Xiaofan said, it will be of great significance to the 077 Mechanical Military Factory!

It will be a subversive revolution for Yan Country.

”This is incredible!” someone exclaimed.

”Yeah, I didn’t expect that we could actually create a new type of special steel...” another person echoed.

Lin Chenran said, ”The meeting is almost over, let’s go test this special steel now!”

He stood up, and the others followed suit.

”Engineer Hu, please get the testers ready.”

The test that Lin Chenran was talking about was to use armor-piercing bullets to have a head-on confrontation with this special steel.

”No problem, I’ll arrange it.”

Hu Xiaofan was very excited. If this could really work, then...

This time, Lin Chenran specifically asked Hu Xiaofan to arrange a tank to come over, and use armor-piercing bullets, and then fire at the newly developed special steel.

He wanted to see whether armor-piercing bullets could penetrate the special steel, or whether special steel could withstand the attack of armor-piercing bullets.

When Lin Chenran and others arrived at the experimental site, they saw a Type 59 tank parked there quietly.

When Hu Xiaofan saw Lin Chenran and other senior executives of the 077 Mechanical Military Factory arriving, he hurried over.

”Director, everything has been prepared as you ordered.”

As Hu Xiaofan spoke, he wiped the sweat from his forehead with his hand.

Seeing this, Lin Chenran raised the corners of his mouth slightly, revealing a faint smile.

He patted Hu Xiaofan’s shoulder gently and said in a gentle tone: ”Mr. Hu, thank you for your hard work during this period!”

Then, he looked into the distance, with a determined light in his eyes, and shouted loudly: ”Now that everything is ready, let’s get started!”

Hu Xiaofan nodded excitedly, his face filled with excitement.

He looked at the special steel plate in front of him with anticipation, praying silently in his heart that it could successfully withstand the armor-piercing attack of the 59 tank.

Following Hu Xiaofan’s order, the tester began to slowly start the 59 tank.

With the roar of the engine, this huge steel beast gradually accelerated and moved towards its target.

Soon after, the Type 59 tank arrived at a distance of meters from the special steel plate and stopped steadily. Then, the main weapon tank turret quickly swung and aimed at the special steel plate in front.

Under the precise command of the flag bearer, a ball of fire instantly erupted from the muzzle of the 59 tank, and an armor-piercing shell shot out like lightning.

”boom!”

The shell rushed towards the special steel plate like an arrow shot from a bow with huge kinetic energy.

The atmosphere was extremely tense, and everyone was staring straight ahead, looking forward to the outcome of this thrilling showdown.

Under the watchful eyes of everyone, the armor-piercing shells of the 59 tank accurately hit the special steel plate.

There was a loud bang, and the smoke and dust produced by the explosion spread out, as if the whole world was frozen. The armor-piercing shells fired by the Type 59 tank collided violently with the special steel plate.

Everyone held their breath, anxiously waiting for the smoke to dissipate, eager to know whether the armor-piercing bullet had penetrated the special steel plate or the special steel plate had successfully resisted this round of attack.

As time passed, the smoke and dust finally dissipated gradually. Everyone couldn’t wait to pick up the telescope and look at the steel plate in the distance with all their might.

Due to the huge heat generated by the explosion, people were unable to get close to the steel plate to observe the situation for a short period of time.

Therefore, they could only observe through telescopes.

As time went on, everyone’s expressions gradually became ecstatic and bright smiles appeared on their faces.

Immediately afterwards, thunderous applause broke out in the audience.

What is surprising is that the armor-piercing projectile fired by the Type 59 tank at a distance of 80 meters failed to penetrate the special steel plate with a thickness of only mm!
A careful observation revealed that only traces of the exploded gunpowder remained on the special steel, with the warhead of the armor-piercing projectile not far away.

This small attempt greatly encouraged the senior executives of the 077 Mechanical Arsenal. Their faces flushed with excitement, and their eyes were shining with excitement.

This is the first special steel they designed and developed themselves!
Although it was only at a distance of two hundred meters, it was enough to prove the powerful strength of this new special steel.

Lin Chenran was delighted to see everyone so excited.

He struck while the iron was hot and said to Hu Xiaofan beside him, ”Engineer Hu, you can arrange for the tester to drive the Type 59 tank and fire an armor-piercing projectile at a distance of meters from another special steel plate.”

Upon hearing this, Hu Xiaofan immediately arranged for the Type 59 tank to go to the designated location and prepared armor-piercing shells.

With an order, the Type 59 tank opened fire again, and the armor-piercing shells flew towards the target like lightning.

The result was shocking - the armor-piercing bullet once again left traces of explosion on the special steel plate and did not penetrate it.

Then, the testers fired armor-piercing shells at distances of 100 meters, 50 meters, and 20 meters.

With every shot, the special steel plate showed amazing defensive power, and armor-piercing bullets could not cause any substantial damage to it.

Only when the armor-piercing projectile was fired at a distance of 20 meters did it get ”stuck” on the special steel plate, but it did not penetrate through it.

This remarkable result shocked everyone present.

”This……”

”hiss……”

Suddenly, thunderous applause broke out again.

This is really cool!!!

……

Half an hour later, the temperature around the special steel plate dropped to normal temperature. Lin Chenran couldn’t wait to walk forward and look at the 80mm special steel plate.

Other top executives of the 077 Mechanical Arsenal followed closely behind, as they also wanted to take a look at the special steel plate that had just performed so well.
