Building a Technological Power Starting with the Type 59 missile and Going Astray in Technological Development

Lin Chenran’s mind was as clear as a mirror, and he knew exactly what Old Man Lin was thinking.

But the problem is that the two Type 61 destroyers are basically in a scrapped state.

All types of weapons, equipment and communication systems on the ship have been dismantled.

To put it bluntly, these two Type 61 destroyers are just empty shells.

Even if the Yan Country Navy really took it over, it would be useless!
The gas turbines on the ship have basically been scrapped, and it is unknown whether it can successfully return to the waters of Yan Country.

Instead of going through the trouble of repairing these broken pieces, it would be better to design and build a brand new missile destroyer.

The gas turbines on the two Type 61 destroyers were ”violently driven” by soldiers of the Soviet Navy.

Cannot be repaired, only replaced!
If they want to change it, they will have to fall into the trap carefully set by the Russian Navy.

Not worth the candle!

”Grandpa, the two Type 61 destroyers are almost scrapped, so the navy can forget about it.”

”There’s no rescue coming!”

”The power system was almost lost, the weapons and equipment system was dismantled, and the communication system was also dismantled.”

Lin Chenran directly poured a basin of cold water on him!
“It really can’t be fixed!”

Mr. Lin asked tentatively.

But Lin Chenran shook his head!

Although the Type 61 destroyer is relatively backward in the Soviet Union’s fleet.

But for Yan Country, this is a relatively advanced missile destroyer.

”Hey!”

Mr. Lin sighed deeply.

If the Yan Country Navy gets two Type 61 destroyers, its strength will be significantly improved and it will be more confident.

And now...the cooked duck has flown away!

”For now, the navy can only endure humiliation and bear the heavy burden. When the domestic economy improves, military spending will naturally increase.”

Now Lin Chenran can only comfort her.

Otherwise, he couldn’t make any bigger changes.

Especially when it comes to the country’s military spending as a whole.

”Chenran, you also know that in order to make way for the economy, the originally limited military expenditure has been cut by more than half.”

”Chenran, you also know that in order to make way for the country’s economic development, the originally limited military expenditure has been cut by more than half.”

”We must prioritize the development of the army, then the air force, and finally the navy.”

”Before, those high-ranking officers in the navy came to me one by one to beg for alms, but in fact...”

”I originally thought that the two Type 61 destroyers you built would help to equip the hunting navy, but it turns out that I was just wishful thinking.”

Old Master Lin couldn’t help but sigh, with a hint of helplessness on his face.

The cost of building a naval ship is so high that it is enough to buy weapons and equipment for many other services.

Now we can only put up with the navy for now, and when the military funds are sufficient, we will slowly compensate the other party.

Later, after the economy improved, Yan State’s policy changed, and the navy shifted from near-shore defense to far-sea navigation.

”Grandpa, the navy cannot add new warships for the time being.”

“But we have to keep the major domestic shipyards alive.”

”Otherwise, when the economy develops and military spending is sufficient, it will be very embarrassing if there is no corresponding shipyard.”

Lin Chenran gave his own opinion. Mr. Lin nodded, indicating that he agreed with Lin Chenran’s statement: ”Chenran, you are right, what do you think?”

Lin Chenran scratched his head and said a little embarrassedly: ”Grandpa, I don’t really have any ideas...”

Old Master Lin laughed and scolded, ”You kid, you’re still hiding things from me. If you have any requests, just ask.”

”I’ll report this to my superiors and they’ll arrange it if possible.”

Seeing his grandfather so straightforward, Lin Chenran smiled knowingly: ”Grandpa, I want the city’s second textile factory to be incorporated into our 077 Mechanical Military Factory.”

Wu Changqing: Was your home robbed?

According to Lin Chenran’s idea, only after the Second Textile Factory becomes a subsidiary of the 077 Mechanical Military Factory, subsequent large-scale transactions with the Russian Bear will be guaranteed.

What’s yours is mine, and what’s mine is mine.

At that time, the 077 Mechanical Military Factory will acquire several local light industrial factories.

Costs will be brought down again.

Lin Chenran thought that he would take out the more precious technologies in his hands that were in short supply in the Yan State military, and then completely control the 077 Mechanical Military Factory.

”The Second Textile Factory in your city?”

”I remember Lao Liang mentioned to me before that a large part of the light industrial goods you traded with the Russian bear were provided by the Second Textile Factory.”

Old Master Lin hesitated for a moment, and instantly remembered the Second Textile Factory that Lin Chenran mentioned.

”Yes, it is this textile factory.”

Lin Chenran nodded repeatedly.

”What benefits will it bring to you if the Second Textile Factory is merged into your 077 Mechanical Military Factory?”

”You should know that although their crisis has been temporarily resolved by you, the equipment and production line are very old, and the skilled workers have gone to work in other factories!”

”You will need to spend a huge amount of money to update your equipment production line by then.”

Mr. Lin is confused!

”Grandpa, this is the only way to allow the Second Textile Factory to be annexed by our 077 Mechanical Military Factory and become a subsidiary factory of our factory.”

Lin Chenran didn’t mind the old equipment and staff turnover at the Second Textile Factory.

Since Lin Chenran insisted so much, Mr. Lin would of course oblige him.

”Okay, then let your city’s Second Textile Factory be merged into your 077 Mechanical Military Factory. I will discuss it with Old Man Liang then.”

”Tell me what you think!”

Since my grandson has great ambitions, as a grandfather, of course I have to pave the way for him.

Lin Chenran chuckled, narrowed his eyes, and said, ”Grandpa, I think that domestic shipyards should give priority to manufacturing civilian ships, such as dredgers, oil tankers, speedboats and other types of ships.”

”This will solve the survival problems currently faced by shipyards and also meet the needs of domestic and international markets.”

He went on to explain: “In addition, these vessels have relatively low technical requirements and are easy to mass-produce.”

Mr. Lin listened to his grandson’s advice and fell into deep thought.

After a while, he nodded slightly to show his agreement and said, ”Well, this suggestion is indeed good. Do you have any other ideas?”

”Oil tankers usually have a large tonnage, ranging from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of tons, which can be a good exercise for our major domestic shipyards.

With a confident gleam in his eyes, he continued, ”When our navy receives sufficient military funding in the future, they will be able to directly accept orders from the military and build warships directly.”

”With the experience of building ships of tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of tons, when the country wants to build an aircraft carrier, the progress will be much faster.”

Lin Chenran became more and more excited as he spoke, as if he were there himself.

We must have technical reserves so that we can use them when the country needs them!
