Building a Technological Power Starting with the Type 59 missile and Going Astray in Technological Development

Chapter 31 Business trip?Chapter 31 Business trip?

After the Yan State military held a bidding conference for the second-generation main battle tanks, they urgently held a negotiation meeting.

After careful consideration and difficult choices, an important decision was finally made.

They chose the second-generation main battle tank design and development plan of the 617 Mechanical Arsenal as Yan Country’s first second-generation main battle tank, and gave it the code name ”Type 80” tank.

This decision means that the 617 Mechanical Arsenal will become an important force in the development of Yan’s future main battle tanks.

For the 077 Mechanical Arsenal, the situation is different.

Although the Yan State military has shown some interest in the second-generation main battle tanks of the 077 Mechanical Arsenal, for various reasons, they have no plans to equip their troops on a large scale.

Therefore, this second-generation main tank was not given the code name commonly used by the military.

As this decision was finalized, the Yan State military quickly issued relevant notification orders to ensure that all parties could be informed of the latest developments in a timely manner.

……

077 The director’s office of the mechanical arsenal

Lin Chenran had just started his work day.

When he learned of the notification from the Yan State military, although he had already expected it in his heart, he still couldn’t help but reveal a bitter smile.

Lin Chenran knew very well that he needed to respect the decision of the Yan State military.

Thinking from the perspective of national interests, if he were in the same position, he might make a similar choice.

After all, as one of the core equipment of a country’s military power, the main battle tank must not be restricted or limited by other countries like space fighters.

It must remain fully in the hands of the country to safeguard national security and sovereignty.

Lin Chenran understood that the Yan State military’s decision was based on broader strategic considerations and national security needs.

Although individuals may feel disappointed, the top military officials of Yan State have already made the decision and it cannot be changed.

If you want the Yan country’s military to purchase a large number of second-generation main battle tanks (modified Type 077 super tanks) from the 59 Mechanical Military Factory.

Then one condition must be met: either the 077 Mechanical Military Factory, or the Yan Country’s military needs to successfully introduce the technology and production lines related to the 760-horsepower four-stroke V-type 12-cylinder V-46 diesel engine in the hands of the Russian Bear.

It’s like an unbridgeable chasm that lies there.

Only when this condition is met, will the Yan country military be able to purchase on a large scale. Otherwise, there will really be no chance at all!!!
”Knock knock knock!” A series of rapid knocks on the door suddenly broke the silence in the office.

Lin Chenran, who was lost in thought in the office, was ”awakened” by the knock on the door. He frowned slightly and responded calmly, ”Come in!”

The door opened, and Song Xiyun and Zhu Lao walked in.

Seeing this, Lin Chenran showed a bright smile on his face.

He invited the two to sit on the sofa and chat while drinking tea.

Lin Chenran asked his assistant to inform Song Xiyun to come to the factory director’s office alone.

After receiving the notice, Song Xiyun thought about it and guessed that it might be about the order of the second-generation main battle tanks of the Yan State military.

Without hesitation, he hurried to the factory director’s office.

On the way to the factory director’s office, Song Xiyun happened to meet Mr. Zhu.

Mr. Zhu noticed that Song Xiyun’s face showed impatience and anxiety, and his pace had obviously quickened, as if he was in a hurry for something.

He immediately realized that something important might be happening.

Mr. Zhu speculated that this matter was most likely related to the Yan State military’s order for second-generation main battle tanks.

He walked straight up to greet Song Xiyun and expressed his willingness to go to the director’s office of the 077 Mechanical Arsenal to find Lin Chenran to find out the situation.

And so they came here together.

After Lin Chenran and the others exchanged greetings for a while, they got straight to the point.

Lin Chenran smiled and extended his hand to congratulate: ”Congratulations to you, Mr. Zhu, for your 617 Mechanical Military Factory winning the military’s order for the second-generation main battle tanks.” ”This...”

For a moment, Mr. Zhu was conflicted and didn’t know what mood to use to deal with it.

After hearing what Lin Chenran said, Song Xiyun’s face turned very ugly and his brows furrowed.

I had held out a glimmer of hope in my heart, but it was completely shattered at this moment.

The Yan State military really did as Lin Chenran and Song Xiyun had guessed before: they handed over the task of producing the second-generation main battle tanks to the 617 Mechanical Military Factory and let them produce them.

Seeing that Mr. Zhu was embarrassed and tangled, Lin Chenran couldn’t help but laugh, and then comforted him: ”Mr. Zhu, why do you have such an expression?”

”Since the military has chosen the design and development plan of the second-generation main battle tank from your 617 Machinery Arsenal, you should be happy!”

After hearing this, Mr. Zhu sighed heavily: ”Ah!”

”Is this how you two kids comfort an old man like me?”

”My happiness now is just rubbing salt into your wounds!”

”How can I do this?”

Song Xiyun paused for a moment, then stepped forward with a smile to congratulate: ”Mr. Zhu, congratulations!”

”Originally, the design and development plan for the second-generation main battle tank of our 077 Machinery Arsenal was not aimed at military orders. We have told you this before.”

”Old Song! This...”

Mr. Zhu was obviously a little overwhelmed.

Lin Chenran, who was standing by, pulled Mr. Zhu aside and said, ”That’s right! I had a little fantasy before, but now I don’t have to think about it. I will directly impact the international second-generation main battle tank military sales market.”

Seeing that both Lin Chenran and the other parties were very open-minded, Mr. Zhu didn’t say anything more.

Immediately afterwards, Lin Chenran and the other two began their inspection of the 077 Mechanical Military Factory.

They walked and talked, Lin Chenran asked Mr. Zhu some technical questions, and Mr. Zhu answered them seriously and put forward his own opinions.

Lin Chenran benefited a lot from the guidance of Mr. Zhu.

Zhu Lao’s experience and professional knowledge brought him many new ideas and inspirations.

Lin Chenran’s various wild ideas also gave Mr. Zhu new ideas.

It turns out that among three people, there must be one who can be my teacher!

The entire inspection process lasted a whole day, and Mr. Zhu gained a deeper understanding of the factory’s operations.

It turns out that the success of the 077 Mechanical Arsenal was not accidental.

……

The next day, Lin Chenran and Song Xiyun sent Mr. Zhu to the car and watched his car slowly drive away from the 077 Mechanical Arsenal.

”Let’s go back!” Lin Chenran looked into the distance and said lightly.

”Yeah!” Song Xiyun responded, then followed Lin Chenran back to the office.

As soon as he entered the office, Lin Chenran said straight to the point: ”Mr. Song, for the next month and a half, you will be in charge of all the affairs of the factory.”

”Ah? Why do you suddenly say that? What about you?” Song Xiyun asked in surprise.

Lin Chenran smiled and explained, ”I have to go on a business trip to deal with some things. Thank you for your hard work during this period.”

”On business trip?”

Song Xiyun was a little confused.
