Building a Technological Power Starting with the Type 59 missile and Going Astray in Technological Development

Chapter 9 Win-win cooperation! Hello, I am good, everyone is goodChapter 9 Win-win cooperation! Hello, I am good, everyone is good
After Song Xiyun left the factory director’s office, Lin Chenran was writing a report summary at the table.

”Ring ring ring!!!”

Suddenly, a rapid phone ring broke the silence in the office.

Lin Chenran put down the writing in his hand, then reached out and picked up the phone on the desk and gently pressed the answer button.

”Hello, who are you?”

He asked very enthusiastically.

”Xiao Linzi, can’t you even recognize my voice?”

A loud, bell-like voice came from the other end of the line.

Lin Chenran immediately recognized who the other person was—Old Wei from the Equipment Department of the Yan Country Army.

”Mr. Wei, it turns out to be you! I’m so sorry.”

Lin Chenran quickly apologized, thinking to himself: Mr. Wei called in person to confirm the matter regarding the Type 59 civilian engineering vehicle.

It is very likely that Boss Liang has informed the military that the 077 Machinery Military Factory has the ability to convert the Type 59 into a civilian engineering vehicle.

It’s just like a cat smelling fish.

”There’s nothing to be embarrassed about. I didn’t disturb your work, did I?” Mr. Wei said in a calm and gentle tone.

Then he said directly without beating around the bush: ”Old Liang told us that your 077 Machinery Military Factory converted the Type 59 tank into a civilian engineering vehicle.”

”And I also know that your factory has a limited number of Type 59 tanks, and it would not be cost-effective to put them back into production.”

When Lin Chenran heard this, the smile on his face froze instantly, revealing a hint of bitterness.

”Xiao Linzi, our military has a large number of Type 59 tanks. We can cooperate.” Old Wei said calmly, as if he was doing this for your own good.

Mr. Wei went on to say, “We in the military must have a share of the Type 59 civilian engineering vehicle.”

Then he played the emotional card: ”You also know that due to the drastic cuts in military spending, we wish we could divide the money into dozens of parts. Now that the Type 59 tank can be modified into a civilian engineering vehicle, we can also update it.”

“The most important thing is that our cooperation is a win-win situation.”

Although Lin Chenran has to report to his superiors.

But now someone is blocking the door.

There is a difference between the two.

If you report by yourself, you can take more initiative.

Of course we can talk now!!!

”Mr. Wei, cooperation is possible.”

”We also want to help the military update existing tanks.”

“There are two ways to collaborate.”

Lin Chenran said calmly.

Mr. Wei would like to hear the details.

Lin Chenran continued, ”The first form of cooperation is that our 077 Mechanical Military Factory purchases Type 59 tanks from the military at a recycling price.”

”As for the price, it is definitely a big deal, after all, some Type 59 tanks have been in service for more than years.”

”As for the settlement of the Type 59 recycling fee, our initial plan is to settle the payment once a year.”

”I believe you also understand the difficulties our 077 Mechanical Military Factory is facing now. Money is indeed a bit tight.”

Lin Chenran expressed his difficulties appropriately.

However, Elder Wei interrupted without hesitation: ”A one-year settlement period is too long. This is absolutely not possible! Three months is the bottom line of our military.”

Lin Chenran was embarrassed when he heard this: ”If we settle the debt within three months, the working capital of our 077 Machinery Military Factory will become extremely tight.”

”You don’t want our 077 Mechanical Military Factory to go bankrupt, do you?”

Lin Chenran: I can’t do it!!!

After thinking for a moment, Mr. Wei changed his tone: ”Then let’s compromise and pay it off in four months, right? You should know that our military also needs sufficient funds to upgrade tank equipment.” ”Then pay it off every four months.” Lin Chenran also agreed.

Of course, this also depends on whether the balance of our 077 Machinery Arsenal is tight.

Lin Chenran originally planned to settle once a year, so that the financial pressure faced by the 077 Mechanical Military Factory would be much smaller.

The military will definitely not agree to pay it back once a year.

After all, they are also facing serious funding shortages.

”What about another way to cooperate?”

Old Wei was thinking secretly in his heart. He was indeed tempted by the first cooperation plan mentioned by Lin Chenran just now.

But years of experience have told him that the second type of cooperation may be more beneficial to the Yan State military!

So he suppressed his inner excitement and asked calmly, ”What about the second way of cooperation?”

Lin Chenran seemed to have been prepared for this, and replied calmly: ”The second form of cooperation is for the military to provide Type 59 tanks, and our 077 Mechanical Military Factory will be responsible for modifying them into Type 59 civilian engineering vehicles.”

”The profits from the sale of the Type 59 civilian engineering vehicle will be distributed in a ratio of to , with % going to us and % going to you.”

When Mr. Wei heard this, he was immediately furious!

He couldn’t believe his ears, his eyes widened and he shouted angrily: ”What? Did I hear it right? Our military only takes 077%, but your Mechanical Arms Factory wants to take %?”

”Lin Chenran, are you too arrogant? Is it because Old Lin didn’t teach you well?”

Mr. Wei’s voice was deafening, and the powerful majesty came through the telephone line, making Lin Chenran feel oppressed.

Lin Chenran was frightened by Mr. Wei’s sudden roar.

He couldn’t help swallowing his saliva and tried to explain: ”Mr. Wei, what’s the price?”

Ask for a high price, pay back the money!
”Our military must take 077%, and your Mechanical Arms Factory can only take % at most.”

Mr. Wei’s tone was firm.

When Lin Chenran heard this, his brows immediately furrowed, and the invisible pressure that originally surrounded his body seemed to disappear in an instant.

Lin Chenran is a man who values money more than his life.

Now every profit is related to the future of 077 Mechanical Arsenal.

”How can this be?”

Lin Chenran’s voice was not loud, but it carried an unquestionable firmness.

”If our 077 Machinery Military Factory can only get % of the profits, it won’t be long before our factory will face the crisis of bankruptcy again.”

”Mr. Wei, it’s not just our country that has tanks with outdated performance. The Russians next door also have them.”

”When I go to the Bear Country, I can directly recycle a batch of tanks at the price of scrapping them for modification.”

”If it wasn’t for helping the military clean up the Type 59, I would...”

Lin Chenran also said things that he shouldn’t have said.

Indeed, if you go to the Russians, you may be able to get a tank for a few hundred dollars, and you may even get one free if you buy five.

The people of the Bear Country wished that Lin Chenran would come over to help them clean up the tanks that were out of performance and about to be scrapped.

Moreover, by 1984, the economy of the Russian Federation was in a very bad state.

All walks of life have been greatly affected.

As long as Lin Chenran brings a batch of light industrial products, he will definitely be able to exchange them for a batch of tanks that are about to be scrapped and have outdated performance.

”This……”

After hearing this, Mr. Wei fell into deep thought.

Indeed, the Type 59 tank is not the only one produced by the 077 Mechanical Arsenal.
