I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 497: 480 Patrol the ForestChapter 497: Chapter 480 Patrol the Forest

Mu Ying teleported to the Plantation and used the Eye of Nature to take a close look at all the little cuties in the garden. She then cast the Water Creation Skill to turn the water enriched by the Recovery Spring into mist, nourishing all the plants.

As her level grew higher, the routine care for the plants became more convenient.

It took her about half an hour to complete the task.

Then she drank two bottles of Magic Potion and teleported to the underwater plantation.

The common marine plants she had collected from the seabed of the Emerald World were almost all planted, and their seeds had already been distributed to Lily and the others. Now, the main residents here were Magic Plants, which she had yet to finish planting.

During this period, these plants were her biggest source of Professional Experience, as each new species that did not exist on Deep Blue Star, once successfully cultivated, was rewarded with a considerable amount of Experience by nature.

She glanced at her Level Progress.

[Profession: Druid lv9 (1980/4500)]

Most of these over nineteen hundred points of Experience came from planting new species.

She stayed there until noon before she finished her work.

For lunch, she again had fruit.

When she was human, she felt she would go hungry without some rice for her main meals at lunch and dinner.

Even after her blood had been purified and she became an Elf, this habit hadn’t changed.

In reality, her body had completely transformed; she had only recently started trying to eat fruit as her main diet. Not only did she not feel hungry, but she also grew faster. In these past months, she visibly grew taller.

Elves are all tall and handsome men and beautiful women, and her previous height had been a bit of a disadvantage.

Sister Furris was right about her being malnourished.

However, due to her past life’s experiences and the first decade or two of this life as a human, she could withstand eating fruits every day physically, but her mind and taste buds couldn’t handle it.

So every evening, she would still cook her favorite human delicacies in her Magic Hut using Cooking Magic and enjoy dinner with her little ones. She simply ate less of the staple food and focused more on enjoying the flavors of the food.

In the morning and at noon, she would follow the Elves’ habit of eating only fruits, saving time and supplementing nutrition.

After eating a few fruits, she planned to go on a Forest Patrol.

She applied the Stone Skin Technique to herself and left through the south gate of the Main Territory.

Once outside, she swiftly climbed a tree and ran through the treetops. This kept her away from the dangers and obstacles on the ground, and threats from the air were minimal, making her movement speed very fast.

The players who came to the forest to gather materials through the south gate witnessed this scene and exclaimed, “Druids really are kings of the forest, combining Spider Walk Skill, Divine Movement Technique, and Jumping Technique, along with Forest Traversing and Traceless Step skills. When moving through the forest, they are even faster than Wanderers and Forest Patrols!”

“Brother! You’re behind the times. My card buddy knows Lin Shang, the guy in charge of the public farm. Spider Walk is a method that allows one to climb without worrying about balance—defying Newton’s grave. But look at the Lord, she’s climbing and paying attention to balance with each step. And she moves so fast, even instant cast Jumping Techniques wouldn’t keep up. No matter how much Mana you have, you couldn’t maintain such expenditure. She must not be using any Spells; she’s relying on her own abilities to run like that,” another person revealed.

“My God! How is that possible?” the first person exclaimed in astonishment. “Without using any Spells, she can move as if she has mastered qinggong? She can even use those thin branches to propel herself!”

“The changes in our Lord’s hair, eyes, and ears since before the apocalypse are significant; she must have fused with an Elf Bloodline. Have you seen the Elves from Maple Town? This is how they walk. It’s not surprising that our Lord can do it too!”

“Now that you mention it, I remember once seeing an elf walking across the railing of a path in the sky, that railing being so thin.”

...

Mu Ying ran at full speed through the woods until she reached the area she had patrolled yesterday.

The forest was so vast that she could not cover it entirely every day, so she would patrol different parts of it day by day.

This year, she had also been trying to use Plant Growth to nourish the land within the forest, which made her even slower.

When she reached the edge of the new area, Mu Ying finally descended from the tree.

Gungun wiggled his bottom, struggling out of her arms, reverting to his original form, and flopping onto the ground, looking up at her expectantly.

Mu Ying immediately understood, connected with the natural power, and began spell casting.

Not long ago, she had learned the spell for Mutated Animals, and both Gungun and Da Ming particularly enjoyed having her use it on them.

After using the spell to become bigger, Gungun could carry her as they ran through the woods, though it was still not as fast as she could run on her own.

However, this speed was just right for patrolling the forest.

Da Ming was still too small; even after using Mutated Animals, his body was not large enough to carry a person in flight. He needed to grow more. He most enjoyed showing off to his little buddies after using the spell.

Once the spell was cast, Gungun doubled in size, and Mu Ying climbed onto his back, allowing him to carry her through the forest patrol.

Gungun’s body was all flesh, making the ride soft and especially comfortable.

She meticulously checked over this area first, giving special attention to any plants in poor condition, occasionally planting a few new ones, and applying some Recovery Spring.

Tomorrow she could come back and place a Plant Growth in the center of this section.

Patrolling the forest was a very happy task for her.

The natural power was highly active, with the whole forest seeming to welcome her, occasionally even providing a single digit of Professional Experience as a reward, and her Guardian Armor grew thicker in the process.

In reality, the Stone Skin Technique she applied every time she went out acted merely as insurance; the forest creatures did not harbor any intention to attack her, they were actually quite friendly. Magic Beasts lower than her level could hardly break through the defense of the Guardian Armor, and those higher in level simply did not exist in the woods surrounding her territory.

She thoroughly checked the area that could be covered by a Plant Growth, and planted various valuable plants suitable for the environment, including flowers with ornamental value, fruit-bearing plants that yielded delicious fruits, and herbal medicines, among which were Mutant Plants and Magic Plants that could grow naturally.

Just like the mermaids who wanted a more vibrant and colorful seabed, she too wished for a more diverse plant population in the forest; this would enhance the natural essence and promote better plant growth.

However, this would have to rely on her to slowly plant them herself.

With her rules against overharvesting and the malicious harming of seedlings, these plants could grow undisturbed.

Today, some of the plants with shorter growth cycles that she had planted in and around her territory had matured, and anyone could use them. Sometimes by harvesting and selling them, people could earn a living.

With a taste of the benefits and the constraints of territorial regulations, the Local People gradually grew accustomed to protecting young plants, planting anew after each felling, not stripping off plants in groups, and understanding the concept of sustainable development.
