I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 494: 477: The Lineage of GodsChapter 494: Chapter 477: The Lineage of Gods

On ordinary days, as long as she was at home, Furris would usually stay on the rooftop.

Even when she occasionally needed to rest, she would lie on the lawn.

It was only when it rained that the bed in her house got some use.

When Mu Ying ran to the tree of Furris’s house, she saw Furris sitting on the rooftop, engrossed in a book.

One could tell she had been reading all night.

The sky was only just beginning to brighten, but elves all have Dark Vision, so the darkness didn’t affect their reading.

Hearing the rustling of the branches, Furris closed her book just as Mu Ying climbed up onto the roof.

“Little goddess! I knew it was you!”

“Sister Furris, how did you know it was me when you haven’t even looked?” Mu Ying, familiar with the path, sat down next to Furris, placed Gungun, who had become somewhat sober from the chill of the journey, on her lap, and rubbed its fluffy fur.

“Although you can already move about freely in the trees, the sound you make is still too loud. You need to practice more,” Furris said as she helped tidy Mu Ying’s messy hair, and couldn’t help but pat her head affectionately.

As the only underage little elf in the village, even though Mu Ying was the Daughter of God, she couldn’t escape the adults’ fond tousling and pinching.

However, she quite enjoyed the affection showered upon her by her brothers and sisters.

Upon hearing Furris’s words, Mu Ying understood that the noises she made were too loud; she was the only one in the village who caused the rustling leaves as she ran through the trees.

Although she had been trying hard to control the noise, given her short learning period, the progress was not very noticeable.

“But no need to worry, slowly but surely, you’ll get it. You’ll have mastered it before you’re an adult,” Furris consoled her, “You’re already working very hard, give yourself some more time to play, you’re still a child after all!”

“How can I become strong without putting in the effort? Even if I can’t become someone like Sage Chen Mian, I still strive to be a top power within the Universe, at least not inferior to Lord Correlon!” Mu Ying’s ambition was far-reaching.

“Finally lowered your expectations a bit? The classes you’ve been taking lately do have some effect, you’re becoming more and more like an elf,” Furris said, deeply relieved.

She always felt that Mu Ying was living at too fast a pace, putting too much pressure on herself when a little elf should be running wildly carefree in the forest.

“...” Mu Ying sighed deeply, “It’s not that my ambition is diminishing, but that I’m beginning to understand how difficult it is to become someone like Sage Chen Mian.”

Before learning the history of the Universe from Furris, Mu Ying greatly admired Sage Chen Mian and aspired to be someone like her.

After learning about the Universe, and understanding the level of the creator of the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial, Sage Chen Mian, Mu Ying set her sights a little lower, now aiming to be like her father, Lord Correlon.

After all, Sage Chen Mian could be said to be one of the top most powerful beings in the known Universe, almost as everlasting as the Universe itself, portrayed as all-knowing and all-powerful—not an exaggeration, but a fact.

Considering the Trial Worlds she created that are as real as the actual world and capable of switching between reality and fiction, the Laws she has mastered are countless.

For several epochs, there had only been one person like Sage Chen Mian, who could be said to be unprecedented and likely unparalleled, even more potent than the mighty gods at the very pinnacle of the pyramid, the kind whose stature is almost belittled by the description ‘godly’.

Her ascent to such heights was not only due to her own efforts and Talent, but also related to the circumstances of the Ancient Era, which could be described as the right moment creating the hero.

Mu Ying couldn’t fathom how she might ever reach that level, so she didn’t trouble herself over it and lowered her expectations, aspiring to become a top contender in the Multiverse, shoulder to shoulder with her father, the Correlon God King.

“Haha, then today I’ll tell you more about the Path to God and the hierarchy of divine beings, and maybe you’ll have to lower your goals even further!” Furris said with a laugh, as children have such lofty aspirations that they gradually come to know fear.

“That’s not necessarily the case,” retorted Mu Ying, not admitting defeat. Yet, she still skillfully took out a bunch of snacks and fruits because it was always good to eat something while listening to stories.

“Last time we talked about Sage Chen Mian creating the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial.

After the emergence of the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial, the environments of various universes tended towards peace, and the difficulty of becoming a god actually decreased somewhat, but the challenge of becoming a powerful god increased by more than a hundredfold.

You have to understand, there is a world of difference between gods.

As I told you before, level 18 is Legend, level 19 is Demigod, and at level 20, one can achieve a Divine Position.

One can attain Legend through Talent and effort, but beginning from Demigod, one has to start understanding Laws.

By comprehending the Power of Laws, one may become a Demigod, and with the recognition and control of at least one world Law, one can condense divine essence, achieve a Divine Position, and break through level 20.

Every Life Planet has Laws that can lead to godhood. There are countless Life Planets in the Multiverse, and each Life Planet can support several divine beings.

The only thing more difficult than in the Ancient Era is that now, condensing divine essence must be recognized by the world consciousness.

Previously, Laws were more chaotic and not confined to a single Life Planet, so understanding them was more free-flowing then.

Now, under the influence of the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial, the Laws of the universes and planets are more orderly. A single move affects the whole body, and it’s not something you can earn recognition for lightly. Without recognition, one doesn’t even have the privilege to comprehend Laws, making it much harder.

Gaining the recognition of a world consciousness means you must have a profound connection with a Life Planet.

Either you were born in this world, naturally being a citizen of it and carrying a certain recognition. As long as you are the first on the planet to comprehend a certain Law and then make some contributions to it, you can gain control of that Law and condense divine essence.

In the last few tens of thousands of years, most new gods have followed this path; it’s the most orthodox and the easiest Path to God.

If you weren’t born in this world, then you are essentially an outsider and must make much greater contributions, almost several times that of the former method, to gain recognition. Few use this method because it’s too difficult.

Life Planets are numbered, and gods are almost immortal. The old, familiar planets where it’s common to find easy-to-grasp or more potent Laws are nearly all spoken for. Although the complexity of Laws is immeasurable, and no one can clearly say how many different Laws constitute a Life Planet, getting a spot on an old planet is as hard as reaching the heavens.

Furthermore, the minor Laws can at most yield a god with Weak Divine Power.

Conversely, in new worlds, Divine Positions are vacant, and the potent Laws have yet to find masters, with the potential to birth gods of Intermediate Divine Power.

This is also why Lord Correlon left his bloodline on Deep Blue Star. You were born here, naturally recognized by the world consciousness. Just be the first to grasp a Law and then earn enough Source Power for your world in the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial, and your path to godhood is nearly assured. With the support of the Elf Clan, even becoming a god with Intermediate Divine Power isn’t out of the question.”
