I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 473: 456: Nourishment of the LandChapter 473: Chapter 456: Nourishment of the Land

Clan Leader Ned was quite old but still acted like a big kid, always using his strength to bully the younger members of his half-breed clan.

Sometimes he was a bit mean, but he always remained the protector and reassurance for the half-breeds, and they had mixed feelings of love and hate towards him.

However, it was precisely his character that pushed the half-breeds to be ambitious, as every oppressed member dreamed of cultivating their abilities, ousting him, and becoming the clan leader to force Ned into retirement.

Mu Ying, amidst the envious gazes of other half-breeds, accepted the big red envelope from Clan Leader Ned and quickly made herself scarce.

The last stop, naturally, was to see Priestess Granny.

She had prepared a large house made of crystal coral for Priestess Granny and Lily.

Priestess Granny and Lily really liked it and returned the favor by giving Mu Ying a shell box full of nicely-appearing glowing pearls.

Apart from these, there were also fruit baskets sent to the elves.

All the New Year’s gifts had been distributed, bringing this year to a conclusion.

She planned to arrange the territory’s affairs and then start planning her own personal cultivation matters.

First, she opened the workgroup chat and sent a message.

Mu Ying (Lord Boss): “Another year, let’s keep up the good work, we won’t have this year’s staff meeting offline, just personally report any development plans to me privately if you have any, and if there’s an urgent matter and I haven’t responded in time, reach out to Furris. @All Members[Lucky Red Packet]”

Zheng Jing (Beast Taming Leader): “Received!”

Du Jinlan (Business Leader): “Received!”

Su Huashi (Mining Leader): “Received!”

Maya (Textile Workshop Leader): “Received!”

...

Liu Luoluo (Breeding Director): “Received! Lord, are you going to travel far again?”

Mu Ying (Lord Boss): “No traveling, wait for me to take care of this year’s land nurturing, then I’ll dedicate myself to closed-door cultivation.”

Liu Luoluo (Breeding Director): “Good luck!”

...

After sending the messages in the group, Mu Ying posted another notice.

[Notice: Starting today and for the new year, the land nurturing matters will begin. This time’s spell casting will cover the main territory, private planting sub-camps, and public farm camps. When nurturing private planting sub-camps, part of the plots will be occupied for spell casting. The specific plot numbers and occupied times are as follows, please enable teleport permissions within the plot ranges on time for convenience in spell casting.]

Zhang Yanqing: “Is the Lord really working too hard? Starting busy work from the first day of the Lunar New Year?”

Hu Shixue: “Can someone explain what this land nurturing means?”

Tang Huili: “You can tell the person above is new here. This is the Lord personally using 3rd level Druid Spells of Plant Growth to nurture the land. It’s a large-scale spell with very long casting times. The land that has been spell-cast will be more conducive to plant growth, and the crop yield will also be higher. You can think of it as a type of pure natural, pollution-free magical fertilizer.”

Han Jia: “I remember last year, the Lord had dark circles under his eyes from working to nurture the land. The plants indeed grew well afterwards. I had a bumper harvest without using any fertilizers. I initially planned to grow vegetables for my own use but ended up selling some in the trade hall to provide for my family. I reckon our territory’s private planting camps must have some of the best land for planting in the world, I still want to rent a plot but can’t outbid the others.”

Tang Huili: “Exactly, those forum posts that complain about the expensive rent in our territory being uneconomical and better off clearing their own plot in the wilderness make me angry. With the Lord’s spell-casting, growing anything turns a profit, and our territory’s fields never lack tenants!”

Wang Yueling: “I just hope the Lord doesn’t overdo it like last time, working day and night, getting dark circles under his eyes is too harmful to the body.”

Han Jia: “Agreed, Lord Boss, no rush, take it slow, your health matters most!”

Tang Huili: “Agreed, health is important, take care of yourself!”

...

Seeing the affirmation and sincere concern of the local people for herself, Mu Ying felt warmth in her heart.

Seeing them still emphasizing the importance of her health, Mu Ying couldn’t help but reply.

Mu Ying: “Got it.”

Han Jia: “Ahhh, the Lord replied! Love you~”

Wang Yueling: “The Lord is so well-behaved! Mwah!”

...

Mu Ying smiled knowingly.

Her local people were adorable too.

It should be known that she was originally a lord who cared only for herself; she considered her well-being first and only planned for the territory when she had the time and energy to spare. The territory, in her eyes, actually had little weight.

But gradually, the significance of the territory had grown significantly—she had spent most of the year traveling for the territory, and her level progress had been slow. She was initially nearly one level above Draco, but now the gap had shrunk to less than 30%.

The big change was probably due to these lovely people in the territory! Their maintenance, care, and love for the territory and her made Mu Ying want to give them a better homeland.

This year, the land that needed spell casting was larger, but the casting itself became somewhat easier.

The duration of the Plant Growth spell remained the same, requiring eight hours, but with her increased level, each casting could nourish a much larger area of land than before.

Also, after consuming Grandma Fruit for several months, her energy levels were increasingly aligning with those of a normal Elf, requiring less sleep to recover energy, making staying up late trivial for her.

The situation of developing dark circles from staying up, as had happened last time, would not occur again unless she had several days of sleeplessness.

She only needed just over an hour of rest each day to maintain adequate energy.

Overall, it was actually more comfortable.

Just about to close the Territory Internal Network and start casting spells at the first location, Furris sent her a private message.

Furris: “Xiao Muying, let us protect you during your spell casting. It can prevent disturbances, including later when you patrol the forests and enhance the defensive power of the Guardian Armor of the Natural Bracelet, we can accompany you with two Elves who can watch your surroundings while you focus on casting spells or connecting with nature.”

Mu Ying thought it over and agreed, as she indeed needed this. It was safer to have two Elves help keep watch when she was engaged in such focus-demanding tasks.

From that day onwards, Mu Ying began her non-stop spell casting journey.

But this year’s non-stop was completely different from last year; she was full of energy.

On the first day, Layla and Ferilon came to guard her.

After Mu Ying disclosed the locations of her scheduled spell casting to them, the two teleported to the destination to await her arrival.

“Then I’ll begin!” Mu Ying said to them and started casting her spell.
