I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 476: 459 PetitionChapter 476: Chapter 459 Petition

Mu Ying enjoyed bringing small gifts full of local people’s affection, but she didn’t want the local people to spend too much money on them.

To her, that bit of money didn’t matter much, but for many of the local people, it was hard-earned from their labor and not easy to come by.

So, Mu Ying personally posted on the territory’s forum.

“I really appreciate everyone’s kindness, but please don’t send me expensive gifts (anything over 3 copper coins counts), if you earn money, improve your own lives first. When you all have money, the territory will be even wealthier—that’s when I’ll really hit the jackpot. Don’t slow down the pace of getting rich! All local people who sent gifts today, the gift refunds have been transferred to your territory deposit accounts, please check them—Mu Ying.”

After making the post, Mu Ying stealthily peeked at the screen.

Song Qing: “Hahaha, Lord, have you not seen the World Forum? The entire world knows about you subsidizing the territory, and you’re still talking about making a profit? It would be good enough if the territory didn’t lose money!”

Lu You: “Each long-distance transmission array costs 100 Gold Coins, and we in Qingshan City built a total of sixty-four. Each cross-regional transfer array costs 1,000 Gold Coins, and Qingshan City built six of them. The Lord must have taken a loss of at least one Purple Gold Coin.”

Guan Hai: “The Lord is losing money and still doesn’t want to take an extra penny from us!”

Zhou Xueping: “Wuu, I am so touched, I only sent a packet of dried berries, and the Lord actually refunded me 50 copper coins! Isn’t that a bit too much?”

Li Maoshui: “I got a refund of 50 copper coins too, and I only sent a bunch of flowers I picked myself!”

Shan Huajie: “Regretting not going to send a gift today!”

...

Mu Ying ignored the comments about her subsidizing the territory. Although Lu You’s calculations were correct and she indeed spent her own money on the territory for building transmission arrays, how could that be called subsidizing? That was clearly an investment!

The transmission array was such a great project; having invested in it, she would slowly earn back the money. After that, it would all be pure profit.

The next day, when Mu Ying went to cast spells on the land, she told the elves accompanying her that if anyone came to give gifts again, they must strictly follow her gift acceptance guidelines. She would only accept small gifts or letters made by hand by the local people. Any purchased items over 3 copper coins would not be accepted.

By the end of the day, not only did the number of gifts around her not decrease, but it actually increased. However, they were indeed all simple and inexpensive items now, with local people’s homemade snacks, encouraging notes, fruits and vegetables harvested from their own lands, or freshly picked wild plants.

This time, Mu Ying accepted all of them and even specifically allocated an area in her super space ring to store these things. When she had time, she would take them out and look through them slowly. After all, her space ring had more than enough space, and now she also had the Elf Divine Ring, which had a vast space inside. These items hardly took any space at all.

All these were expressions of affection from the local people!

Let her bask in a moment of pride with her hands on her hips!

With the local people being so enthusiastic and adorable, how could she not work hard and quickly enrich the land? Soon, the weather would warm up, and everyone could start the spring planting. Planting earlier would mean harvesting more crops, earning money to help with household expenses. The land, nourished by the Plant Growth, would allow the crops to be more robust and cold-resistant.

So, a few days later, the players in Qingshan City noticed that their Lord, who had agreed not to rush this year and to take care of her health, had started nourishing the land day and night again.

One day, after finishing spell casting, Mu Ying suddenly realized that the uninterrupted stream of small gifts and notes had stopped.

The local people only loved me for a short time!

This sentence looped endlessly in her head.

“Mu Ying, these are the gifts the local people sent you today,” Layla handed her a rolled-up long scroll.

Mu Ying took it over, wanting to see which of the local people still thought of her after all these days.

As she opened it, Mu Ying’s eyebrows raised.

[Qingshan City Joint Petition]

[We urge the lord to be mindful of the daily working hours, suggesting not to work more than 8 hours a day, to eat on time, ensure sufficient sleep, and not to overwork yourself. You’re still young, and ruining your health now will lead to suffering in old age!]

[Petitioners: Han Jia, Liu Luoluo, Xie Sen...]

The lengthy scroll was, aside from the first few sentences, filled with tiny signatures and quite professional-looking fingerprints, the number of names ridiculously high. No wonder no one brought gifts today, they were all busy with this thing.

Mu Ying could never have imagined that she would receive such a petition. She didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

She opened the territory forum, skimmed through the posts from the past two days, and sure enough, there were a ton of people concerned about her health, some scolding her for being disobedient, as she had previously agreed to take it slow this year but ended up pulling all-nighters again.

Mu Ying used her lordly privileges to find a few chat groups called [Petition 1 Group], [Petition 2 Group], and [Petition 3 Group].

There were many more groups with similar names following those.

The chats inside were lively, all discussing the possible reactions she might have to receiving the petition.

There were also players apparently nearby providing real-time text commentary on her reaction.

Mu Ying was truly at her wit’s end with these local people. It was concern alright, but on such an epic scale.

She even noticed some familiar names in several groups: Liu Luoluo and Xie Sen.

They were the ones listed at the top of the petition.

Although many other acquaintances were also members, they typically stuck to one group, unlike these two and a girl named Han Jia, who seemed to be in every group.

These people definitely had a hand in this.

All of a sudden, Mu Ying remembered the “mysterious” support group from last year, which had included many ‘mom fans’ who liked to call her Kid. They had organized food deliveries to her while she was nurturing the land.

She’d only discovered some clues about this on the World Forum, but since it was an anonymous forum, she didn’t know the specifics of the membership.

If she hadn’t come across similar titles in these group chats, Mu Ying might have forgotten about the whole thing.

On a whim, she searched using keywords like “Kid”, “support group”, and after a while,

she found the “Kid Fan Club Core Members Group”, and what do you know, Liu Luoluo and Xie Sen had become group admins. There were senior members like Old Mao and Lu You, and even Furris and Layla were there as new members, along with a ton of other names she either recognized or not.

But most outrageous of all, Gungun was there too!

Gungun: “Mu Kid only got home to sleep at dawn yesterday, and after just an hour and a half, she was up again. It breaks my heart!”

Mu Ying was driven to laughter by the absurdity. She had been wondering how everyone knew her schedule when she was sure to only cast spells in the territory’s public area during the day and spent her nights at the public farm—it turned out there was a mole!
