I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 482: 465: Star Cave VillageChapter 482: Chapter 465: Star Cave Village

The “evil” witch in the story had ridden her flying carpet for several days and had finally entered the borders of the Rose Kingdom.

Star Cave Village was located in a basin east of the Sunset Forest, which was vast itself and even bordered the Witch Forest.

It was said that the basin where Star Cave Village lay was created by a fallen star that crashed into the earth.

Though remote, Star Cave Village was rich in forest resources, and the land was fertile, but since one had to pass through the Sunset Forest to get there, few outsiders came, making it something of a secluded paradise.

The house in the story with the large garden and high walls was easily found by Mu Ying; those walls could rival the defenses of a small town.

Normal people couldn’t possibly climb over them, but there were obvious signs of reinforcement and expansion; they must not have been so tall originally.

Alongside the fence stood an abandoned old house; apart from this old house, the other homes were quite far from the wall.

The large garden inside was almost as big as Mu Ying’s Plantation in reality.

However, it was mostly plots of land; not many flowers were planted, mostly it was Miss Cuisine.

Mu Ying could feel the abundant Magic Power in those Miss Cuisine plants; they must be the Magic Miss Cuisine.

An elderly witch with a hunched figure, gray hair, and simple clothes was working in the fields, looking every bit the old age, yet her movements were neither weak nor sluggish.

Mu Ying in the sky was something she could not have missed.

Sheltering her eyes from the dazzling sun, she waved at Mu Ying.

With her permission, Mu Ying descended into the garden.

“Where does this young girl come from?” The witch greeted her warmly.

“From the Green Wall Kingdom,” Mu Ying said, “My name is Mu Ying.”

Upon hearing Green Wall Kingdom, the old witch was momentarily lost in thought, but she quickly recovered, “I am Itsera, you must be a recent witch graduate, on a journey?”

Mu Ying nodded, the name Itsera was one she had just heard from Debra, wasn’t she the predecessor who cultivated the Magic Miss Cuisine?

She didn’t beat around the bush, “Elder, I’ve actually come specifically to find you.”

“To find me?” Itsera, now over two hundred and eighty years old, knew that the little witch before her couldn’t possibly know her personally, given her young age, and she was certain they had never met.

“I passed through Wilderness Town in the Green Wall Kingdom and met Vier, heard about his story with Aisha...”

“Aisha?” Itsera’s gaze became heavy with sorrow, “So she finally met with Edville after all, she’s dead, isn’t she!”

Mu Ying nodded, “Aisha has been dead for several years now, leaving behind a little boy. Not long ago, Vier was on his deathbed, about to die, but I cured him using Life Magic, in exchange for a story. He told me the story of him and Aisha, but I feel like it wasn’t the full picture, which is why I came to see for myself.”

Itsera sighed and sat down on the grass beside the field, “It’s incurable, it’s a long story, sit down and I’ll tell you slowly, but before that, you tell me how he told it.”

Mu Ying sat down and recounted the story Edville had told, this time in its entirety.

Itsera listened with an expressionless face and then let out a cold laugh, “Ha, such a cowardly man indeed. Yes, I was the one who blinded his eyes to prevent him from finding Aisha, but his inability to return and claim the throne, his being forgotten by the Kingdom, I did not curse him for that. Having wasted so much time outside for so-called love, considering the nature of the Green Wall Kingdom’s Royal Family, his rivals probably declared him dead a long time ago! If I really knew how to curse, I would’ve cursed him so he’d never find my Aisha.”

“The story begins with these Miss Cuisines, have you heard of Magic Miss Cuisine?” Itsera asked.

Mu Ying nodded, “I have.”

“Initially, when I cultivated Magic Miss Cuisine, I used myself as the test subject. The results were always good at the start; my Magic Power visibly increased, and I fell in love with its taste, I liked it a lot. At gatherings, I would prepare it for my friends to eat, and they liked it too, so I shared some with them.

Eventually, it spread and became a staple food for many witches at the time.

But unexpectedly, it turned out to be addictive. If you didn’t eat it for one day, you would feel extremely weak, and avoiding it for a long period might even lead to death. Moreover, every witch who became addicted to it lost their ability to conceive.

Although the witches were very open-minded and thought it was no big deal to be infertile, claiming it was originally given to them as a gift because they liked it, I couldn’t forgive myself. They didn’t blame me, but I decided to come to this remote place, to continue cultivating the Magic Miss Cuisine, and to find a way to solve its side effects and addictive properties.”

Later, a few wandering travelers arrived here, attracted by the fertile land, and they settled down, eventually giving rise to Star Cave Village.

Until one day, a pregnant Maffei saw the Magic Miss Cuisine in my garden from the upper floor of her house. Seizing the opportunity while I was out, she had her husband steal and eat it for over half a month.

By the time I discovered it, it was already too late.

By then, Magic Miss Cuisine was not the same as the first generation.

It was still addictive, but it no longer affected the fertility of those who consumed it. However, though one could conceive, it would take up a large part of the mother’s life force to carry the child, and after giving birth, her lifespan would be greatly reduced.

An antidote had not been developed.

I hurried over to check on Maffei’s condition.

This was the first time Magic Miss Cuisine had been ingested by a human; previously, I had only conducted experiments on small animals.

Although Maffei showed signs of addiction, in reality, all the Magic Power of the Magic Miss Cuisine was concentrated on the fetus in her womb – this child was Aisha. Maffei’s symptoms of addiction were entirely due to the influence of little Aisha inside her.

As long as she gave birth to Aisha, she would be able to rid herself of this influence.

But although Magic Miss Cuisine was easy to grow, it still required magic power to thrive, which humans couldn’t provide. If left unattended, Aisha would surely die.

Considering Aisha was the first human to be affected by Magic Miss Cuisine, I decided to adopt her and explained the situation to the Maffei couple.

Initially, they didn’t believe it, but without Miss Cuisine, Maffei’s appetite was gone, and her body grew weaker; this was when they agreed.

During her pregnancy, I provided her with the right amount of Miss Cuisine and kept an eye on the fetus’s condition, watching over her growth until she was born.

She was born healthy, only her head of gold hair was completely unlike her parents’. Thick and soft, it didn’t seem like the hair of a newborn at all, and she was very beautiful.

The Maffei couple liked her very much and even begged me to let her stay, but I refused.”
