I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 472: 455 Win-WinChapter 472: Chapter 455 Win-Win

The players were excited all day, grabbing red envelopes, by late night, they could hardly stay awake anymore, and the crowd by Moon Lake gradually thinned until it was almost empty.

The elves’ performance hadn’t finished yet.

Their program was scheduled until dawn, and even if there wasn’t a single audience member left, they would continue because their performances were never meant to entertain others, but to entertain themselves.

Although most of the players had gone back to rest, there were still some energetic mermaids and elves who had finished their performances.

Moon Lake was still lively.

After calming her emotions, Mu Ying also joined in.

“Yingying, I haven’t seen you all day! Have you been to the Undersea Corridor?” asked Lily as she swam to the lake shore when she saw her.

“I did, and I loved the ‘lamp’ shaped like a little mermaid the most,” Mu Ying praised.

“Hehe, I made that!” Lily said with a blade of Gill Pouch Grass in her mouth, her words muffled. She then pulled out another blade of Gill Pouch Grass from her small shell bag and handed it to Mu Ying, “Try some?”

Mu Ying took it.

It wasn’t until dawn, when the elves finished their last program, that everyone finally dispersed.

Like last year, Mu Ying went to present New Year gifts to several elders in her territory.

Her first stop was the general store.

“You’re here?” Wuyaya wasn’t surprised at all to see her, its preparations this year were done way in advance!

It had nibbled on every seeded fruit in Grandpa Shom’s plantation well ahead of time, accumulating a large bag of seeds.

Mu Ying took out a bamboo basket from her space, filled slowly with orange small fruits, “Happy New Year, these are old crow persimmons I just grew last year.”

Wuyaya lifted its foot and fiddled with a large cloth bag next to it, “Happy New Year, these are the seeds I’ve collected this year, I’m giving them to you!”

“Thank you!” Mu Ying happily patted Wuyaya’s head.

Wuyaya squawked as it flew up, “Don’t get ahead of yourself. Who says you can touch my head? Only if you pay!”

“No money,” Mu Ying said, not in the best mood.

“Miser!” Wuyaya huffed. Elves had come to see it; there was no escaping the Divine Descendants. Those extravagant elves wouldn’t let their kin suffer, would they? Likely rich to the point of overflowing! Yet, she wouldn’t even spend a bit of money to touch it, was the fur of Wuyaya not smooth enough?

“Pot calling the kettle black, neither of us should point fingers!” Mu Ying considered herself to be more generous than Wuyaya, “Where is Grandpa Shom?”

“He’s planting in the garden!” said Wuyaya. “Go on, go on, don’t disturb me trying to make money with the shop!”

Mu Ying ignored Wuyaya’s sharp-tongued words, walked inside the store, and through the inner door, came into Grandpa Shom’s plantation.

“Mu Girl, come see the new hybrid rice I’ve been researching, using your Deep Blue Star breeding methods combined with my rice seeds, we’ve tried out a new variety!”

Seeing her, Grandpa Shom quickly called her over to have a look.

Mu Ying hadn’t even spotted where Grandpa Shom was, but hearing his voice, she finally pinpointed him in the rice field.

“My goodness, this rice is so robust!” Mu Ying exclaimed, it seemed as tall as a person.

“It needs to be robust to support such large panicles,” Shom said, “This is a hybrid I created from a type of rice with a strong stem and one with large panicles, it’s very good, though there are some genetics issues that still need research, what’s this?”

Shom noticed the small stone box Mu Ying was holding in her arms.

“Happy New Year, inside it is a transforming moss that grows normally. I converted it from the Trial World. It’s a rare magic plant that grows naturally without magic power. It’s your New Year’s gift,” Mu Ying briefed him on the habits of the transforming moss.

Shom became interested, “Great, great, I really like it! Look at the plants in the garden, pick anything you like, don’t be shy with me. You have the Natural Bracelet; collecting seeds should be no problem for you, right?”

“Hehe, then I won’t be polite. Frankly, I’ve been drooling over your Plantation for a long time!” Mu Ying’s eyes gleamed.

“I’ve been drooling over your Plantation too,” Shom joked.

Mu Ying said without hesitation, “Don’t worry, by tomorrow I’ll send you a big seed gift pack from my own garden!”

“That’s great, this is a win-win!” Shom laughed heartily.

“And this is for Little Oak,” Mu Ying also took out a Crystal Coral Dollhouse similar to her own Gem Fairies.

“Really? Do I have one too?” Little Oak was surprised and flew out from behind Shom’s neck.

“Yes, Happy New Year!” said Mu Ying.

Little Oak shyly said, “Happy New Year, I really like it!”

After Mu Ying had plucked every plant in Grandpa Shom’s garden to her heart’s content, Little Oak, shaking with a small cloth bag, flew over: “New Year’s gift!”

Mu Ying opened it to see, and it was a bag of acorns.

“These are from my mother tree,” said Little Oak.

Mu Ying felt a stronger natural power from it than from typical acorns: “Thank you, I really like it!”

Later, she went to the Mushroom Man’s Night Light Forest, gave the Mushroom Man Elders spores of the transforming moss, and received a huge harvest of special products from the Mushroom Man mushroom fields.

“Lord, this year’s New Year’s movie was not bad, right? Many people are asking for it to run a few more days, wanting to watch it a second and third time!”

Mu Ying, receiving the message via the Communication Spore from the Mushroom Man Elders, nodded reluctantly, barely controlling her desire to complain, and delicately suggested that if there were fictional parts, they should definitely include a “this story is purely fictional” disclaimer.

The moment this topic came up, Mu Ying couldn’t sit still and hastily excused herself to leave.

At Clan Leader Ned’s place, she noticed that it was unusually lively this year, with several Half-Breeds continuously coming to offer their New Year greetings.

Even a Half-Breed toddler who had just learned to walk personally picked a bunch of Bomb Fruits as a New Year gift for Clan Leader Ned.

When Mu Ying came in, she always felt the Half-Breeds’ gaze on her was a bit resentful.

“Ah, Mu Girl has arrived. Come sit. Your Deep Blue Star’s New Year customs are really great; we Half-Breeds like them very much!” Clan Leader Ned said with a smile.

“But at Deep Blue Star, the New Year custom is for elders to give red envelopes as new year money, not for youngers to give New Year gifts!” a Half-Breed youth, forced to give away the big red packet he won last night, said in a tearful, low voice.

“An adult and still want a red packet?” Clan Leader Ned was unmoved, feeling that young people should experience some setbacks taught by elders.

Mu Ying took out her New Year’s gift, “Happy New Year! This is a Disguise Potion I made myself.”

“Ah, Mu Girl, that’s very thoughtful of you. Here’s your New Year’s money!” Clan Leader Ned gave Mu Ying a big red packet.

Half-Breeds: “...”

“What are you looking at? Mu Girl is still a cub!” Clan Leader Ned said, annoyed.
