I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 474: 457: UnderestimatedChapter 474: Chapter 457: Underestimated

The natural power was gathered by her and slowly integrated into the land.

During the spell casting process, Mu Ying had her eyes tightly closed, dedicating her whole heart and soul as a bridge between the natural power and the land, standing still like a statue.

Ferilon and Layla stood beside her, one on each side. Even in the safety of the territory, they took their guardianship seriously, without any diversions.

To give the local people renting land in the sub-camp some time to react and prepare, Mu Ying started casting her spell from the main territory.

In this public setting, it was impossible to avoid spectators.

However, everyone had received notifications and knew what was happening. Although they would be curious and watch for a while, they would remind each other conscientiously not to make loud noises or get too close to avoid disturbing Mu Ying’s spell casting.

Only one person was an exception.

“Ferilon! I’ve finally caught up with you!” Sindar teleported directly into the inner circle space that the players had intentionally left open and ran up to Ferilon.

Ferilon frowned but didn’t respond to her.

“Ferilon, come with me to Maple Town. Although Maple Town’s potential isn’t comparable to Qingshan City, it’s really livable! And I would definitely treat you better than staying here working for others,” she said.

Sindar did not understand the relationship between Mu Ying and the Elves, assuming that Mu Ying had just accidentally fused with an Elf Bloodline and was a stranger, and that Ferilon and Layla were earning money by taking on a task.

“Where are you guys living now? You need to be an official resident to buy a house in Qingshan City, are you still renting a place?”

...

“Excuse me, young lady, could you please be quiet? Haven’t you seen the Lord casting a spell? Could you please not disturb others?” One of the watching players eventually couldn’t stand it any longer.

“I’m already speaking very quietly, don’t worry, I won’t affect her. Look, everything is fine, right?” Sindar said.

Recruiting Elves she liked was nothing to be ashamed of for her; after all, her initial decision to establish the Transmission Array with Qingshan City was for this purpose.

Ferilon felt helpless, having refused countless times. Sindar was still not giving up because she always believed she could offer better treatment with enough allure.

The most significant issue was their relationship with Mu Ying, something that Mu Ying had required to be kept confidential for the time being.

Unable to give this reason, and with the Elf Village remaining undiscovered by the players, it was impossible to convince Sindar. She instead felt that everyone, especially the male Elves, were merely evading her through negotiations.

Now, annoyed by the persistence, Ferilon once again firmly refused: “We have already decided to join Qingshan City. We will neither go with you to Maple Town nor even consider it.”

“Why must it be this way? I really just like your looks and want you to be closer to me, isn’t it good to have the protection of a territory?” The extreme appearance enthusiast Sindar couldn’t bear to see beautiful people slip away from her. She didn’t necessarily want to develop any deeper relationship; she simply wanted them to stay in Maple Town.

“Is there anything about our protection in Qingshan City that is not as good as your territory?” Mu Ying interrupted her spellcasting to speak.

Actually, her Spell Casting wasn’t affected by the surrounding noise, she just couldn’t help speaking because of what Sindar said.

The elves had sworn to be loyal and protect her, and they were her close elder brothers and sisters, so Mu Ying couldn’t stand it anymore.

Previously, the elves had never thoroughly discussed with her Sindar’s entanglement, and Mu Ying thought Sindar’s pursuit was out of affection, believing that nothing excessive would happen within the territory.

Especially after banning the disclosure of others’ location coordinates on the Territory Internal Network, Mu Ying thought that Sindar had given up.

But she hadn’t expected him to be so persistent.

“Of course, I can build many beautiful houses for them for free, turn the entire territory into an elf style, and provide them with the best benefits. Can your territory do that?”

Sindar was willing to go to great lengths for the elves.

Mu Ying did not answer but countered, “What level are you?”

“Level 3, why?” Sindar knew his level was somewhat low, and added, “Although my Cultivation Talent is poor, that doesn’t stop me from being a good Lord!”

“Then do you know that none of Ferilon’s group of elves is below level 9? And they are all still young elves with a lot of room for promotion.”

“I know!”

“Then why do you think, with such strong capabilities, they could only find a safe place to live by relying on you? They could easily carve out a dwelling place in the wild, without depending on anyone!”

“But I am a Lord, I can earn a lot of money!”

“Do you think the wealth that elves have accumulated over hundreds of years is less than yours? To be honest, I am not necessarily richer than them, and do you really understand elves? Why would elves live in dependence on humans?”

Sindar fell silent, somewhat hesitantly, “But aren’t they helping you with work now? Aren’t they depending on you?”

“They are not depending on me, none of the Local People in my territory depend on me. They earn their rewards through their own labor and effort, not through my handouts. I have no right to order them to do anything, everyone is free and equal, with the right to control their own lives, much like the relationship between a boss and employees,” Mu Ying emphasized, “Free things are the most expensive. If you accept your favors, what else might you have to pay at your place?”

Ferilon nodded repeatedly, “Exactly!”

Mu Ying was absolutely right, they had refused so many times before, but he had always been confident in persuading them, which puzzled them; now Ferilon finally understood that Sindar was equating them with those poor and powerless humans.

“Are you underestimating us? We are elves, protected by our powerful deities. Which elf doesn’t have a bag of Purple Gold Coins by adulthood? The places we build for ourselves are the best. Your Maple Town and elf constructs are only superficially similar. The most important aspect of an elf dwelling is the dense natural power, which you cannot replicate. Qingshan City is far superior to you in this aspect; the intensity of the natural power there makes it much more comfortable and very livable for us.”

Mu Ying listened to Ferilon’s words, nodded, and finally hit the mark.

It was the first time today that she realized that elves were still too elegant, which made their arguments and rationales lack force. People unfamiliar with elf customs might really think they were just being polite! It occurred to her that there seemed to be no words for insulting people in the Elf Language, so Ferilon’s behavior seemed quite normal.

Sindar’s perspective was overturned, he fell silent for a while, and then only asked, “What are Purple Gold Coins?”
