Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

150: Chapter 150 Advancing to the Seventh Rank? Beginning the Tribulation?”If you are willing, I do have a place suitable for seclusion.”

Chen Gu said. This was the territory of the Ancient Tree Clan, so under normal circumstances, there would be no danger.

At the same time, the Ancient Tree Clan rarely hunted fierce beasts for food; their main source of nourishment was absorbing the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, as well as the nutrients from the earth’s veins for cultivation. Compared to other fierce beast factions, they were quite benevolent.

”Then I will trouble you, Elder Chen.” Bai Xuan thanked him in a respectful tone.

”No problem, follow me.” Chen Gu used wood vines to condense a human-shaped avatar. It was an elderly man wearing a white robe, looking like an immortal with an ethereal air. He held a wooden staff, floated in the air, and looked at Bai Xuan with a kind smile.

”This is an avatar?” Bai Xuan was very curious, and also wondered why Chen Gu was dressed like this, just like the World Tree, in ancient attire.

Chen Gu nodded gently: ”Indeed.”

”Elder Chen, your attire... it looks so similar to the ancient clothing of the Dragon Kingdom in our surface world, so ethereal. One can tell at a glance that you are an enlightened master.”

Bai Xuan asked his question, not forgetting to flatter him a bit.

”Hahaha, there is indeed a deep connection. Let’s talk as we walk.”

Chen Gu floated in the air, leading the way in front, while Bai Xuan shrank his body and followed closely behind, looking left and right to observe the things in this world.

There were many things, and creatures, that Bai Xuan had never seen before.

”A long time ago, the surface world still had spiritual energy and was more or less connected to the Inner Earth World. My attire was passed down from that time. Later, the spiritual energy on the surface world withered, and it was gradually forgotten. The Inner Earth World also lost contact with the surface world. Only recently did we receive some news about the revival of spiritual energy and the invasion of the Insect Race.”

Chen Gu explained as they walked.

”Then why did the spiritual energy wither?”

”I am not sure about that. It must have encountered some kind of disaster or change. The Inner Earth World could not escape the catastrophe either. Although the spiritual energy did not wither, the overall strength has dropped significantly. Long ago, there were Rank 9 and Rank 10 powerhouses, but now it is difficult even to advance to Rank 8. It gets worse every year.”

Chen Gu sighed. If the catastrophe were not overcome, the entire Blue Star could be destroyed, but these were not things he could change; he could only take one step at a time.

”Everything will get better.” Bai Xuan replied after a moment of silence.

”I hope so.” Chen Gu naturally hoped that everything would get better.

”Has there been a problem with the world’s spiritual energy laws?” Bai Xuan asked what was on his mind.

”I don’t know, but it is very likely the reason.”

Just like that, Bai Xuan and Chen Gu chatted intermittently. Bai Xuan gained some understanding of this world’s affairs, thanks in part to Communication with Living Beings; otherwise, Bai Xuan would not have been able to communicate with Chen Gu without barriers.

After some time, Chen Gu brought Bai Xuan to the entrance of a mountain cave dwelling: ”This is the place for seclusion I told you about. The spiritual energy inside is dense, an excellent holy land for cultivation, which will be beneficial for you to master the cultivation technique as soon as possible.”

”Thank you, Elder Chen.” Bai Xuan thanked him.

”There is no time to lose, go in and cultivate. I will protect you from the outside.”

Chen Gu left his avatar outside to stand guard and prevent any accidents.

However, the probability of an accident was very low. Unless a Rank 6 Beast Emperor came, they couldn’t break through the cave’s defense. Plus, this was the territory of the Ancient Tree Clan, so even a peak Rank 6 Beast Emperor would not dare to intrude lightly.

Bai Xuan thanked him again, and after speaking, entered the cave dwelling. The gate closed automatically, while Chen Gu stayed outside, sitting cross-legged with his eyes closed to rest.

The spiritual energy inside was dense, and there was a faint fragrance that refreshed the mind, likely one of the treasures to assist in seclusion.

Bai Xuan looked around. The walls were covered with dense green plants, and the ground was filled with flowers and grass, the fragrance striking the nose. In the central area, there was a smooth bluestone platform.

Bai Xuan squatted down on the bluestone and used Eye of Appraisal. He did not detect anything unusual. Coupled with his own poison immunity and extremely high defense, even a peak Rank 6 would find it difficult to break through his defense, so there was no need to worry too much; he just needed to concentrate on cultivating the technique.

Just like that, Bai Xuan began his cultivation. For a fierce beast of Bai Xuan’s level, learning an introductory technique was easy; his comprehension was quite high.

One month later.

At this time, the sky was covered with dark clouds, with lightning and thunder.

The cave door was blasted open, and a terrifying aura rushed out, followed by a surge straight into the clouds. Cold ice spread rapidly. This was not ordinary ice, but Rank 6 ultimate cold ice. Any fierce beast below Rank 6 that touched even a little bit would be frozen into an ice sculpture and perish. This was no joke; it was extremely lethal.

Chen Gu’s avatar opened his eyes abruptly, cast a spiritual skill to isolate the cold ice within a hundred meters of the cave. Looking at the scene before him, Chen Gu was stunned for a moment: ”This little guy, what kind of joke is this? Is advancing to Rank 7 so sudden?”

Fortunately, there were not many Tree Spirit subjects here, otherwise Chen Gu would have scolded Bai Xuan to death. Chen Gu did not forget to transmit a message to the surrounding Tree Spirit subjects, telling them to evacuate.

At the same time, Bai Xuan slowly opened his eyes and smiled bitterly: ”I didn’t expect that I would have to undergo a tribulation.”

This was something Bai Xuan had not expected. Originally, Bai Xuan intended to end his seclusion after mastering the technique, but after mastering the technique, connecting with this Inner Earth World, gaining recognition, and having his restrictions lifted, a terrifying amount of spiritual energy poured into his body frantically. He couldn’t stop it even if he wanted to.

In the end, Bai Xuan was forced to advance. Since it had come to this, Bai Xuan thought, if I have to advance, then I will advance. Cultivating here is also quite good, and there is no danger.

But he did not expect to have to undergo a tribulation, and the place of the tribulation was still in Chen Gu’s territory, which was very awkward.

Bai Xuan flew out of the cave and saw the bewildered Chen Gu. Bai Xuan scratched the back of his head with his wing, wearing an awkward but polite smile: ”Elder Chen, sorry about that. I didn’t mean to; I couldn’t stop even if I wanted to.”

”Forget it, you have to rely on yourself for the tribulation. Don’t take it lightly. Don’t worry about things on the ground; I have already evacuated the subjects. You just need to devote yourself wholeheartedly to the tribulation.”

Chen Gu shook his head helplessly. Undergoing a tribulation was no small matter. He would only attempt a tribulation with at least a 60% chance of success, for fear of falling short and dying during the attempt. What would happen to the Tree Spirit subjects?

But this little guy was something else; it started the tribulation without anything prepared. However, it was also beyond its control, so he couldn’t blame it. It was also his own negligence; he forgot that this guy was also a Rank 6, Level 9, with excellent talent, and its speed of absorbing spiritual energy was much faster than his own.

”Elder Chen, wait for my good news.” After saying this, Bai Xuan flew into the sky, entered the lightning tribulation, and prepared to start the tribulation to advance to Rank 7.

Chen Gu continued to protect Bai Xuan. If Bai Xuan failed the tribulation, he could step in immediately, do his best to save Bai Xuan’s life, and block any Beast Emperors or even Beast Sovereigns with ulterior motives.
