Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

136: Chapter 136 Bai Ya arrives, bloodthirsty by nature.Upon hearing this voice, Bai Xuan frowned slightly and thought to himself:

”Why is she here?”

The helicopter landed on the ground, and several people stepped out, including Shi Xiaoyue and Bai Ya.

”Why are you here? Go back immediately!” General Wang Zhuo scolded. After all, it was too dangerous here, and Bai Ya was an especially important figure, capable of communicating with and gaining the trust of fierce beasts and spirit beasts.

It was precisely because of Bai Ya that the Earth Nether Flood Dragon and the Azure Wolf King had joined the Dragon Country’s camp or agreed to cooperate.

At the same time, beast language translators had now become common, allowing martial artists to better communicate with spirit beasts and become partners.

As for Shi Xiaoyue, she had become a key focus of Dragon Country’s cultivation due to her extraordinary martial talent. In all likelihood, she would reach the fifth rank in the future, and given three or four more years, she might even become a sixth-rank powerhouse.

Shi Xiaoyue was holding a small red panda with thick red fur. This spirit beast was none other than Yanyan, the second-ranked spirit beast in Dragon Country, who had already reached the fifth rank.

”Chen Jianguo sent us here,” Shi Xiaoyue replied, pouting.

”Nonsense! How could that old fellow let you come here? Get back right now, this instant, or you’ll face a court-martial!”

General Wang Zhuo was nearly driven to death by Shi Xiaoyue’s antics. Talents like them had to be protected; now, not only were they unprotected, but they had also come to such a dangerous place.

”Believe it or not, suit yourself,” Shi Xiaoyue muttered. Since they were already here, there was no reason to go back.

”What’s wrong with you? Answer me using mental power, don’t speak out loud.” Bai Xuan calmed his emotions, his eyes turning serene as he transmitted his voice to Bai Ya.

”Big brother, turn back before it’s too late. You already have enough strength; there’s no need to continue this slaughter.” Bai Ya was as serious as ever. No one noticed her abnormality as she followed Bai Xuan’s instructions, answering his question via mental power.

After a moment of silence, Bai Xuan transmitted back:

”It’s not enough. Go back. I won’t move against Dragon Country; I’ll let you all develop in peace, but don’t interfere in my affairs.”

Even though Bai Xuan now possessed the strength of a sixth-rank Beast Emperor, it was still far from enough. To restore peace completely, he had to become even stronger. Similarly, Bai Xuan now had a deep craving for power.

Power could solve ninety-nine percent of problems. As long as he had power, whether it was the Zerg or some bullshit faction, any potential danger could be easily resolved.

”But you’ve already killed too many living beings. The karmic burden of this slaughter is too great; it won’t be good for you. Furthermore, the potential crises facing Blue Star are too many. There is strength in numbers; that’s how problems are solved. At the very least, we can buy time so we can grow stronger.”

Bai Ya felt as if Bai Xuan had become a different person, making her feel like he was a stranger, yet she still tried her best to persuade him to turn back.

”A general’s success is built on ten thousand rotting bones; sacrifice is inevitable. I’ve already shown the utmost kindness by not attacking Dragon Country. Stop trying to block me—at least, don’t you come. Consider it... big brother’s plea to you.”

Bai Xuan sighed inwardly. It wasn’t about numbers, but quality. No matter how many people there were, they were useless if they were like ants. No one knew when the next alien invasion would occur.

By then, there had to be a powerhouse capable of rivaling the aliens, and a strong race as well.

Otherwise, the situation would become even more difficult.

”When did you become so extreme? I think you’ve just been blinded by profit and power. Don’t sound so high and mighty; you’re just a selfish person who uses any means necessary.”

Bai Ya finally couldn’t stand Bai Xuan’s words anymore. He sounded so righteous and dignified, but in truth, it was all for himself. Why was he pretending to be a good person?

She had to scold him into his senses today.

”Think what you want. Besides, I never said I was a good person.” Bai Xuan gave a bitter smile and didn’t argue. To be honest, it was a bit of both, and Bai Xuan never denied or deceived his own heart.

”No, you’re not even human anymore. What if Mom found out about what you’re doing? What would she think? Do you really have to drive her to her grave?”

Bai Ya showed no mercy, using every means possible, determined to wake Bai Xuan up so he would stop killing the innocent.

She could turn a blind eye to previous events—Bear Country got what it deserved, and it was only natural for the fierce beasts to retaliate—but what about now? Killing indiscriminately, he had long since lost his humanity and become a bloodthirsty monster.

”...”

After a moment of silence, Bai Xuan replied, ”I wasn’t human to begin with.”

Nowadays, only Bai Ya dared to speak to him with such an attitude. If it were anyone else, they would have died countless times already.

”Don’t give me your sophistry! Just answer me: will you stop here and go back to where you belong?”

Bai Ya believed Bai Xuan was just making excuses. In his past life, he was a living human with human thoughts; now, he was just using his current identity to mask his actions.

Meanwhile, General Wang Zhuo said to Bai Xuan:

”Eagle Emperor, what’s wrong?”

Seeing Bai Xuan standing motionless and silent, General Wang Zhuo inquired.

”His brain couldn’t have crashed, could it?” Shi Xiaoyue couldn’t help but mutter. Then she noticed Bai Ya beside her was also motionless and hadn’t responded to her. Holding Yanyan with one arm, she used her other hand to gently shake Bai Ya’s elbow.

”Ya Ya, what’s wrong? Don’t be afraid. We’re here; nothing will happen.”

Thinking Bai Ya was terrified by the Eagle Emperor, she quickly offered some comfort. Yanyan also let out a few cries, telling Bai Ya not to be afraid.

After all, Bai Ya was the only one who could communicate seamlessly with Yanyan, which had allowed the panda to receive more resources and cultivation from Dragon Country. Because of this, it had a very good attitude toward Bai Ya and considered her a partner and friend.

”I’m fine.” Bai Ya snapped out of it and shook her head slightly. She then looked at Bai Xuan solemnly. If Bai Xuan insisted on annihilating Eagle Country, she would no longer acknowledge him as her brother.

Although Bai Xuan had become like this, he still had his humanity, and Bai Ya was absolutely confident that he would never hurt her.

Bai Xuan glanced at Bai Ya and gave a bitter smile in his heart. Her look, which said ’figure it out yourself,’ made him feel quite helpless. He then looked at General Wang Zhuo.

”I was just thinking about a few things.”

”Regarding what we discussed earlier, we haven’t been able to reach a decision yet. We ask the Eagle Emperor to give us more time to consider it carefully.”

General Wang Zhuo spoke through gritted teeth. This was also a stalling tactic; he was currently very afraid that Bai Xuan would attack them without warning.

If Bai Xuan decided to strike, they wouldn’t even be able to react, nor would they have any power to resist. They would most likely be killed in a single blow.

Even if they didn’t die on the spot, they would be as good as dead.
