Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

108: Chapter 108 Arriving Just in Time, Golden Flame EagleAcross the endless desert.

The Insectoids were fleeing in a panic, as if something terrifying was chasing them from behind. Every now and then, a few Insectoid demonic beasts would fall from the sky, limbs severed and blood dripping everywhere; this truly frightened them greatly.

”Damn it, hasn’t the spiritual energy here only just recovered? How could such a formidable fierce beast appear?!”

”To think that we, too, would be hunted down so wretchedly on a tiny Blue Planet.”

”Once the Tier 5 Insectoid reinforcements from other areas arrive, we will turn the tide of defeat into victory. When that happens, they’ll be the ones crying.”

”But that is assuming we can hold on until the reinforcements arrive.”

As they fled and conversed, the leader—a centipede-type demonic beast with a Tier 5, Level 2 cultivation—heard their chatter and couldn’t help but scold them: ”Stop arguing, run faster.”

Suddenly, an Extreme Cold Breath struck down from the sky. Seeing this, the hundred-meter-long centipede hurriedly unleashed a defensive skill, manifesting a protective barrier that enveloped all the demonic beasts within it.

With a loud bang, the protective barrier shattered upon impact.

After the Extreme Cold Breath ceased, it left behind a layer of ice covering a hundred-meter radius on the desert. Except for the centipede leader, all other demonic beasts perished in the attack.

”Don’t kill me, otherwise the Insectoids will never let you off.”

The centipede leader acted as if facing a formidable enemy. By now, it was covered in scars, its hundred-meter body reduced to less than a third, with thick, green blood gushing from its wounds, dripping profusely.

Bai Xuan did not waste words with it. He directly killed it with a single strike of his Eagle Claw and then absorbed all the demonic beast remains into his stomach:

”Finally finished killing them all.”

The Golden Eagle King, leading a group of Golden Eagle, landed on the ground and stood on the ice layer, respectfully saying: ”Many thanks, Eagle King.”

To think that the Eagle King’s strength had increased yet again.

The Golden Eagle King’s level had also leaped to Tier 4, Level 4, its bloodline undergoing a transformation. At this moment, its entire body was covered in golden feathers, and golden flames erupted from its shoulders, signifying the awakening of the fire attribute and its racial bloodline, the Golden Flame Fierce Eagle King.

It was believed that it wouldn’t be long before it could advance to Tier 5, given that spiritual energy resources had increased more than a hundredfold, as had the density of the spiritual energy itself.

”How is the clan doing?” Bai Xuan nodded slightly and then asked.

After all, the Golden Eagle Clan had held on for a full three days. Since the Insectoids could also engage in Flight, they actually didn’t have much of an advantage. If not for Bai Xuan’s arrival, they likely would have been wiped out before long.

”It’s not too severe, and that is thanks to the Eagle King arriving in time; otherwise, our casualties would have been much worse.”

Over these three days, the Golden Eagle Clan had been forced into a continuous retreat, losing their habitat and fighting while withdrawing, all to wait for reinforcements. Bai Xuan had not let them die, rushing there at the fastest speed to sweep through the Insectoid army.

Sending them fleeing in disarray.

”Take this.” Bai Xuan took out a spatial ring, which he had just obtained from the Tier 5 centipede leader, its restrictions now removed.

”What is this?” The Golden Eagle King took the spatial ring and examined it curiously.

”This is a spatial ring, capable of storing items. You just need to inject your spiritual power into it and drop a bit of blood to claim ownership, and then you can use it.”

Bai Xuan explained it to him.

The Golden Eagle King injected its spiritual power into the spatial ring and then plucked a feather to store inside it: ”Truly magical, these Insectoids are indeed extraordinary.”

This was its first time seeing such an item, and it felt incredibly curious and shocked; it never imagined such things existed in the world.

Then, it dripped blood to claim ownership, and after doing so, thanked Bai Xuan:

”Many thanks, Eagle King.”

At the same time, Huzi also arrived here and landed steadily on the ice layer: ”Brother Bai, those remaining fleeing Insectoids have been completely dealt with by me.”

”Well done.” Bai Xuan praised him.

Huzi had led the flying fierce beasts to hunt down those fleeing, weaker Insectoids, and had quickly exterminated them all.

”Brother Bai, not to be rude, but this thing smells so bad, how can you bring yourself to eat it?” Huzi couldn’t help but ask curiously.

Seeing Bai Xuan devouring the Insectoid corpses in large mouthfuls shocked Huzi; truly, when one is hungry enough, one can eat anything.

It also knew that Bai Xuan liked to consume flesh and blood, but it hadn’t expected Bai Xuan to be so unpicky.

”Actually, it has a unique flavor. Why don’t you try some?”

Bai Xuan smiled and replied.

These were shimmering Plan Points, after all; how could Bai Xuan miss out on them? In any case, devouring them didn’t really taste like anything; at most, they smelled a bit unpleasant, but other than that, it was nothing major.

”No, no thanks.” Huzi shook his head, refusing without hesitation.

The Golden Eagle King smiled: ”I actually think these corpses are quite nourishing; eating them is good for the body.”

”Then you go eat them.”

”I really do intend to; I’ll eat some next time.” The Golden Eagle King nodded slightly. Prior to this, it had also eaten some Insectoid flesh and blood; the taste was indeed unsatisfactory, but as for the energy, there was plenty of it.

It was very helpful to the body. As long as one could become stronger, what did it matter if it tasted bad?
