Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

121: Chapter 121 Nearing its end, Xiong Yan loses an arm.Meanwhile, in the Far East Region, Bai Xuan’s advancement was nearing its end.

The aura intensified until the cold energy pierced the clouds, shattering the Ice Cave Dwelling. Dense chunks of ice rained down from the sky.

”I hope everything is still in time,” Bai Xuan muttered to itself. It hadn’t expected the Insectoid beasts to have a Tier 6 Beast Emperor, nor had it anticipated an attack precisely when it was undergoing its advancement.

Bai Xuan could only hope that they could hold out a little longer, and that Hu Zi, Xiao Hei, and Xiong Yan would not fall. After all, having come this far with such difficulty, it would be a terrible pity if they died.

If they truly died, the only thing Bai Xuan could do was to avenge them.

Now, in the Far East territory, tribes were guarding every direction, so even if the Insectoids attacked, they could still hold out for some time.

Suddenly, a voice came from outside—it was Hu Da: ”Brother Bai, can you hear me?”

”Speak if you have something to say,” Bai Xuan replied via telepathy.

”News has come from the Dragon Kingdom regarding the sea front. This Insectoid army is led by a Tier 6 Beast Emperor. I fear that Hu Zi might meet with misfortune, so I wish to lead the Beast army to provide support.”

Hu Da expressed its thoughts. At the Dragon Kingdom border, Soldiers were specifically tasked with conveying news from the front lines. Upon learning of the Tier 6 Beast Emperor, Hu Da was shocked and deeply worried, fearing that Hu Zi might meet with misfortune. If it had known, it should have gone to the front lines in Hu Zi’s stead.

It currently had its own mission of guarding the southern region, but it was still very worried. After some internal struggle, it ultimately chose to seek out Bai Xuan to request to join the battle and support Hu Zi.

”Go ahead, but stay safe. Don’t worry about me; the one who can kill me hasn’t been born yet.”

Bai Xuan replied. If Hu Da wanted to go, it should go. Bai Xuan’s own defense was excellent; even if that Tier 6 Beast Emperor came here, it would be difficult to break through its defenses, and its advancement was only a matter of time.

”Many thanks, Brother Bai.” Upon hearing Bai Xuan’s permission to head to the front lines for support, Hu Da was overjoyed and thanked it.

”Staying alive is the most important thing. If you really can’t win, come back; don’t fight to the death. Once I finish my seclusion, I will take you all to settle the score.”

Bai Xuan did not forget to offer a few words of warning. What it said made perfect sense—staying alive was paramount, and everything else was just fleeting clouds. However, it also depended on the situation. If Blue Star were to be occupied and enslaved by the Insectoids, they would naturally have to resist to the end, but since Blue Star was not yet at the point of life or death, there was no need for such extremes.

”Brother Bai, I understand. I will take my leave now.” Saying this, Hu Da flapped its wings and headed toward the southern region at supersonic speed.

Before this, it had already gathered the beasts, waiting for Hu Da’s command to head to the front lines and support Hu Zi and the others.

Mother Tiger remained behind to guard the first line of defense at the border. The Far East Region was guarded by beasts both inside and out, making it heavily fortified.

At the sea front, the Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor looked in the direction of the Far East Region. It was all too familiar with this situation—it was the sign of an advancement to a Tier 6 Beast Emperor. Seeing this, the Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor felt very surprised: ”I didn’t expect such a beast to emerge on this tiny Blue Star. It is truly rare.”

The Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor had spent quite a long time advancing to a Tier 6 Beast Emperor, yet Bai Xuan had reached this stage in such a short time.

This was also due to the orderly nature of Blue Star’s Aura recovery. It first allowed the living beings of Blue Star to adapt to the Aura before gradually increasing it, as if it had its own spiritual consciousness. At the same time, every Aura Tide could bring great improvements to the living beings, and resources would emerge.

This allowed the creatures of Blue Star to master the Aura and grow faster, while keeping the powerful and covetous alien races blocked outside—or rather, it seemed more like it was done on purpose.

It was precisely because Blue Star’s Aura recovery hadn’t been long, and the Aura resources were still relatively abundant, that it was very suitable to be used as a colony. That was why the Insectoids wanted to take over the entire Blue Star so badly—the benefits it brought them were immense.

”Come again!” The Earth Nether Flood Dragon opened its blood-stained maw, let out a dragon roar toward the sky, gathered its spiritual energy, and fired its Dark Water Breath toward the Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor in the air.

At this moment, the Earth Nether Flood Dragon was covered in wounds. One-third of its body had been destroyed, and its scales were patchy and red. Its four limbs stood on the water as if on flat ground, looking truly ghastly.

”Seeking your own death.” The Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor was getting impatient. This stinking flood dragon’s vitality was too tenacious; it could still launch attacks even while severely injured.

It whipped its massive tail, dispersing the incoming Dark Water Breath and freezing it from head to tail. The Earth Nether Flood Dragon quickly stopped its breath to avoid being frozen along with it.

It was essentially burning its lifespan to fight now. The longer it fought, the shorter it would live; it was even possible that it would perish and its cultivation would dissipate before its lifespan was exhausted.

The pressure of the battle against the Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor was too great. The Earth Nether Flood Dragon was now extremely weak, its eyelids heavy as if they weighed a thousand jin, and it could collapse and fall into a deep sleep at any moment.

”I have to admit that your strength and talent are quite good, but I don’t have time to play with you now. Go to hell.” The Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor Called upon Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy, gathering it at its tail to form a massive, pale blue ice sphere.

Immediately after, it whipped its tail again, and the massive sphere shot toward the Earth Nether Flood Dragon on the sea surface like a cannonball.

The Earth Nether Flood Dragon wanted to dodge, but its limbs were weak and limp. Ultimately, its body could not support such a high-consumption burden, and coupled with its severe injuries, its massive body collapsed. It lay there, on the brink of death, watching the incoming attack like a dead fish: ”Am I truly going to perish here today?”

It felt extremely unwilling, but there was no other way. Compared to submitting to the enemy and living in disgrace, it would rather fight to the death.

Just at this critical moment, three figures approached from three directions toward the Earth Nether Flood Dragon. They were Hu Zi, Xiao Hei, and Xiong Yan. They each used their defensive means, shielding the Earth Nether Flood Dragon behind them.

A blinding light flashed, followed by an explosion.

”Although I don’t like humans and Spirit Beasts, you are quite good. I acknowledge you,” Hu Zi said.

Xiao Hei’s body radiated scorching flames, struggling to withstand this terrifying blow. Xiong Yan was blocking at the very front; among them, it had the highest defense, so it was only logical for it to block at the front.

A moment later, the blinding light dissipated, revealing the state of Xiao Hei, Hu Zi, and Xiong Yan. The seawater within a hundred miles had been blasted away, and the surrounding water had frozen, forming a massive underwater ice pit.

Xiao Hei, Hu Zi, and Xiong Yan had all sustained extremely serious injuries. Xiong Yan was the most severely wounded; its body was covered in scars and dripping with blood, its rock armor was blown to tatters and unrecognizable, and one of its arms had been severed. Gasping for air, blood blurring its vision, it asked: ”Are you all alright?”

Xiao Hei and Hu Zi were in no better condition, both dripping with blood, their fur stained red. Compared to Xiong Yan, however, their situations were better.

”Xiong Yan, your arm...” Xiao Hei was startled upon seeing Xiong Yan’s empty arm, and its rage burned. The damned Insectoids had actually injured Xiong Yan to this extent.

Being able to withstand a blow from a Tier 6 Beast Emperor was truly not easy.

In the end, Xiong Yan could not hold on any longer and collapsed straight down. Its vision and mind grew increasingly blurry: ”Must stop it, for the future of the beasts.” Having said this, Xiong Yan completely lost consciousness.

”I understand. You sleep for a while; leave the rest to us.” Hu Zi nodded gently, flapped its wings, and attacked in the direction of the Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor. Xiao Hei said to the Earth Nether Flood Dragon: ”Please keep an eye on Xiong Yan for us.” Having said this, it charged toward the Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor.

”If we can all survive, after today, we should be able to become friends.” The Earth Nether Flood Dragon coughed up a large mouthful of blood and muttered to itself. Its life had been saved by the three beasts—Hu Zi, Xiao Hei, and Xiong Yan. It would remember this debt of gratitude for the rest of its life, and no matter what happened in the future, it would never kill those three beasts. At the same time, it hoped that after the disaster ended, they could become friends because of this; at the very least, their relationship would not be as bad as before.

”Truly troublesome.” The Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor had long since lost its patience. With one tail swipe, it sent the incoming Hu Zi and Xiao Hei flying, knocking them back a thousand meters at supersonic speed. The power of this blow was imaginable—it was terrifying. Hu Zi and Xiao Hei plummeted into the sea, without any movement.

”I’ll deal with you ants when I return.” The Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor now had more important things to do: to kill the Far East Region and nip Bai Xuan in the bud. As for the situation on the battlefield, the Insectoids held the upper hand, pushing back the human warriors, beasts, and Spirit Beasts, and had now advanced to the coastline.

The Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor twisted its body, flew over the city, and headed toward the Far East Region. Its speed was extremely fast, and once again, no powerhouse could catch up to its speed.

”General, what should we do now? Should we send someone to pursue?” A Tier 4, Rank 9 warrior, after slaying a monster beast, came to General Wang Zhuo’s side and asked. After all, Bai Xuan was their last hope; if Bai Xuan were killed by the Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor, the subsequent situation would become even more difficult.

”No need to bother. There are plenty of beasts over there; we just need to keep the Insectoids blocked out.” General Wang Zhuo said after a moment of silence. After the Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor left, it indeed reduced a lot of pressure on them, but the situation was still very dangerous. The Insectoid beasts were of high rank; whether Tier 5 or Tier 4, they were much more numerous than the human camp, and they could only barely manage to put up a fight by relying on numbers.

”I understand.” The Tier 4, Rank 9 warrior said, and then rejoined the battle. General Wang Zhuo looked in the direction of the Far East Region and sighed: ”I hope everything can go as wished.” He did not want Bai Xuan to advance to Tier 6 and become a Beast Emperor; if that happened, there would be very few weapons—or perhaps none—that could threaten it. However, if Bai Xuan did not successfully advance or was killed by the Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor, then they, and even the entire Blue Star, would suffer. For now, they could only take it one step at a time.

The Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor killed its way into the Far East Region. During this time, humans continuously launched anti-aircraft missiles in an attempt to stop the Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor’s advance, but it was all to no avail. Now, thermal weapons were no longer effective against it, or rather, the only thing on Blue Star that could threaten it now was Bai Xuan. It was precisely because of this that it was so desperate to kill Bai Xuan to avoid endless future troubles.

”Stop it!” At the beast defense line of the Far East Region, ground beasts projected elemental powers or giant rocks, and Flight beasts swarmed out, using their flesh and blood to block the Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor’s advance. ”Mantises blocking a chariot, overestimating yourselves.” The Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor released its breath, slaughtering the beasts on a large scale, killing seven or eight out of ten beasts on the ground and in the sky. Some beasts couldn’t even withstand the pressure and directly exploded, dying without any ability to fight back.

The Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor pushed forward all the way, finally arriving at the central area. Looking at the Ice Cave Dwelling before it, its spiritual sense perceived the powerful aura inside: ”The strongest creature on Blue Star, truly lives up to its reputation.” The Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor had to admit that Bai Xuan’s talent was very high, having already surpassed its own. If it were allowed to continue growing, the one who would die in the future would definitely be itself, so it had to kill Bai Xuan.

”Don’t even think about disturbing the Eagle King’s seclusion!” Xue Yu, who had by now advanced to Tier 5, led the beast tribes to attack the Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor. ”Do you ants think you can stop this Emperor?” The Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor didn’t take these beasts seriously at all; it was like mayflies shaking a tree or moths flying into a flame—overestimating themselves. In the blink of an eye, the Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor slaughtered the incoming beasts, leaving corpses everywhere and rivers of blood. Only Xue Yu barely survived, lying on the ground, on the brink of death, unable to move, having lost all combat capability, and could only watch helplessly as the Heavenly Centipede Beast Emperor headed toward the Ice Cave Dwelling.
