Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

145: Chapter 145 Western Dragons, Humanity’s Allegiance?A moment later.

The Deep Sea Flood Dragon arrived, leading those who had requested an audience with Bai Xuan.

They were accompanied by a Western Wyvern. It resembled a lizard, measuring fifty meters in length with a pair of massive fleshy wings on its back. Its body was covered in vibrant red scales, and it stood on four limbs with five-clawed feet. It had two pairs of dragon horns and looked quite imposing.

However, upon seeing Bai Xuan, it became timid and cowering. Given the suppression of bloodline and level, it was only natural for it to feel terror.

”A Western Wyvern?” Bai Xuan looked at the wyvern, his interest piqued immediately, just as it had been when he first saw a flood dragon.

”Indeed. Is Your Excellency the Eagle Emperor interested in this?”

The speaker was a beautiful woman wearing a professional uniform with a pencil skirt. She had blonde hair, blue eyes, wavy curls, and a curvaceous, heart-stirring figure.

”Quite interested.” Bai Xuan made a couple of clicking sounds at the wyvern and extended a wing to beckon it over.

Treating it like a puppy was a great humiliation for a Tier 5 fierce beast like this wyvern. If an ordinary person had made those clicking sounds, they would surely have been eaten. But with Bai Xuan, the wyvern could only trot forward obediently, come to his side, and sit on the ground, acting extremely submissive.

”Brother Bai, I’m a dragon too. How come I never see you treat me like that?” The Deep Sea Flood Dragon flew to Bai Xuan’s side and complained.

”With that look of yours, I can’t even be bothered with you.” Bai Xuan rolled his eyes at it. Given the Deep Sea Flood Dragon’s personality, Bai Xuan naturally wouldn’t tease it.

After all, this fellow was incredibly slick. As soon as it arrived in the Far East Region, it started building connections and was better at flattering than anyone else.

”Brother Bai, you’re showing favoritism,” the Deep Sea Flood Dragon grumbled.

”Think what you want,” Bai Xuan said, gently patting the wyvern’s head with his wing.

Seeing this, the Deep Sea Flood Dragon felt as though Bai Xuan was deliberately trying to annoy it and began to grumble and complain in a low voice.

”...” Bai Xuan saw this and ignored it; the guy was really quite the actor.

Bai Xuan looked toward the humans and asked coolly,

”What business do you have with me?”

Logically speaking, they should be avoiding him at all costs, so why would they seek him out?

The wyvern sat quietly to the side without saying a word. It was actually there to escort its allies—those humans—and didn’t care about anything else, nor could it.

It wanted to finish up and leave as soon as possible. It didn’t want to stay near such a dangerous beast; it felt a deep-seated fear toward Bai Xuan.

Part of it was the aura Bai Xuan radiated, and the other part was having heard of Bai Xuan’s past achievements and cruelty. Seventy to eighty percent of the fierce beasts on the African Savanna had been slaughtered by him; he was even more ruthless than the wyvern itself.

This bloodthirsty nature—killing not for food but for the sake of it—terrified the wyvern.

If it hadn’t owed them a favor, it would never have risked coming here.

The blonde, blue-eyed woman watched the scene. This was the first time she had seen the wyvern so submissive, though she wasn’t entirely surprised.

After all, the Eagle Emperor’s strength was right there. The wyvern had self-awareness; it knew that only by being submissive and gaining favor could it survive.

”Your Excellency Eagle Emperor, please allow us to introduce ourselves. My name is Jiali, and I am the Secretary-General of the United Nations. It is an honor to meet Your Excellency of the Eagle Country.”

The blonde, blue-eyed woman began her self-introduction.

Following her, the men and women in military uniforms also introduced themselves. They were high-ranking officers from the British Empire and the Gallic Rooster Empire.

Having finally managed to track down news of Bai Xuan, they had rushed over without pause specifically to seek his protection. After all, even the Eagle Country had yielded; what reason did they have to oppose Bai Xuan?

That would be no different from seeking death. Rather than waiting for Bai Xuan to attack them personally, it was better to take the initiative to submit. Even becoming a vassal state was acceptable, as long as they could preserve their nations; everything else was secondary.

Perhaps in the future, they could rise again and humanity would once more rule the Blue Planet.

Submitting to a fierce beast was a humiliating thing to admit, but they had no choice.

”My name is Xiao Yan, and I am the Guardian Spirit Beast of the Gallic Rooster Empire,” the wyvern also gave a brief introduction of its name and status, while constantly watching Bai Xuan’s expression.

It didn’t know if Bai Xuan would mind fierce beasts mingling with humans, but it shouldn’t be a big problem. After all, the Dragon Country already had a Guardian Spirit Beast, the Earth Nether Flood Dragon. It wasn’t impossible for Xiao Yan to be one as well.

”Make it short. What exactly is your business with me today? I don’t care to waste time on nonsense.”

Bai Xuan went straight to the point.

”We wish to cooperate with you, Eagle Emperor, and hand over resources in exchange for protection.” Jiali breathed a long sigh of relief before stating the purpose of their visit.

She wasn’t just here for two countries; she represented the Western Alliance. They believed they hadn’t offended Bai Xuan, so it shouldn’t be a major issue.

At the same time, rather than calling it protection, it was more like paying protection money to prevent Bai Xuan from attacking them.

”I see. So, how much in resources do you think you should hand over? And is it just your two countries?”

Bai Xuan spoke with interest.

They were quite sensible, which was good as it saved him a trip. If all the fierce beasts and humans on the Blue Planet were this sensible, Bai Xuan wouldn’t have to spend so much time dealing with them one by one.

Bai Xuan’s previous actions had achieved the desired deterrent effect, making them realize the current situation: it wasn’t that he wasn’t attacking them, but that their turn hadn’t come yet.

”I am willing to hand over forty percent of our resources, and I represent the entire Western Alliance.” Jiali had already reached a consensus with the Western nations to agree to forty percent.

Forty percent it was; it was better than ending up like the Bear and Eagle nations.

”Not enough. At least fifty percent.” Bai Xuan shook his head slightly, raising the price.

”This... please allow us to discuss it.” Jiali and the other officers looked at each other. They couldn’t make the decision and had to report back to their superiors.

They needed resources themselves and were even running short; handing over fifty percent would inevitably cause riots.

That was not something they could afford.

”Fine, I’ll give you fifteen minutes.” Bai Xuan nodded slightly and agreed.

”Thank you, Eagle Emperor.” Jiali and the other officers bowed respectfully to Bai Xuan before leaving to report and ask if the terms were acceptable.

Seeing them leave, Xiao Yan was left alone to face Bai Xuan and the Deep Sea Flood Dragon. It suddenly became flustered and, after a thought, braced itself to speak to Bai Xuan.

”Eagle Emperor, if there’s nothing else for me to do, I’ll head elsewhere for now so as not to disturb your discussions.”

Xiao Yan didn’t want to stay here for another second.

It used to be quite lively and active, but the situation was different today. Facing a beast of this level, it had become timid.

”You may,” Bai Xuan did not refuse, then looked at the Deep Sea Flood Dragon. ”Accompany it for a stroll so it doesn’t get lost.”

”Leave it to me.” The Deep Sea Flood Dragon grinned, its expression revealing a hint of a wicked smile and ill intent.
