Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

104: Chapter 104 Void Insectoids, Flame MantisThese strange creatures were not weak in strength.

The mantis-like creature leading them possessed a level of Tier 5, Stage 8.

[Race]: Void Zerg, Flame Mantis.

[Level]: Tier 5, Stage 8.

[Attributes]: Purple Lightning, Flame, Gale.

”A Tier 5 beast? You have evolved quite quickly.”

The Flame Mantis was shocked when it perceived Bai Xuan’s level.

How long had it been since spiritual energy revived in this world, and already a Tier 5 beast had appeared?!

”Who are you? Where do you come from, why have you come here, and why is spiritual energy reviving?”

Bai Xuan’s gaze was solemn and vigilant. Had Void Zerg appeared elsewhere too? Or only here?

With various questions in mind, Bai Xuan did not attack immediately, but instead asked for answers.

”You can communicate without barriers? It seems you have evolved much better than I imagined.”

The Flame Mantis was very surprised; it had not expected Bai Xuan to be able to communicate with it without barriers.

It naturally began to take Bai Xuan seriously, but it did not immediately move to kill him. Instead, it felt an urge to recruit him and invited him:

”My name is Blade, from the Void Zerg, leader of the Mantis clan. Are you interested in joining our Zerg to conquer Blue Star? We will never treat you poorly; we will give you territory and resources, and you only need to serve us.”

”By the way, this is also your only chance to survive, so think carefully before answering me.”

The other Zerg stared at Bai Xuan covetously, dense and numerous, surrounding him completely, numbering in the thousands.

”Conquer Blue Star? If I am not mistaken, there should be restrictions on your entry into this place. What level do you rank at?”

Bai Xuan would naturally not accept Blade’s invitation. After all, they clearly came with ill intentions and wanted to conquer Blue Star. If they were not very strong, Bai Xuan would not hand over such vast resources.

Moreover, Blue Star was Bai Xuan’s home. He would... not agree to let them conquer and rule it.

”Among the Zerg that have entered this world, my strength ranks in the upper tier. There are at least twenty Tier 5 powerhouses like me. I advise you to honestly submit to us, otherwise, I will have no choice but to kill you. After all, not everyone gets this opportunity; don’t be ungrateful.”

After Blade finished answering Bai Xuan’s question, it had to admit that Bai Xuan was quite smart to guess the general situation in such a short time.

They indeed had restrictions. The Zerg that could enter this world through the spatial rift had a maximum strength of Tier 5, Stage 9, but this was enough to sweep across any creature on Blue Star.

At the same time, the Tier 5 Zerg that entered here all had strong, or even excellent, talent, with the potential to advance to Tier 7 or even Tier 8 in the future.

”So that’s how it is.” Bai Xuan muttered to himself.

In that case, Bai Xuan still had the strength to fight. Devouring them would also allow him to gain a large amount of evolution points. There were pros and cons; the Zerg would threaten the development of his forces, but they could also provide Bai Xuan with massive amounts of evolution points. After all, the native beasts and martial artists of Blue Star could no longer satisfy him.

”I have already answered your questions, so shouldn’t you give me an answer now?” Blade’s tongue twitched as it looked coldly at Bai Xuan.

It was as if it would immediately move to eliminate Bai Xuan if his answer did not satisfy it.

”With your strength, you aren’t qualified to make me submit.” Bai Xuan smiled mockingly. So what if it was Tier 5, Stage 8? If Bai Xuan went all out, he could still kill it.

At the same time, his own level shackle broke, and Bai Xuan successfully broke through to Tier 5, Stage 5. With his bloodline and system skills, he had no reason to fear Blade.

As soon as Bai Xuan finished speaking, Blade exerted force with its eight legs, teleported behind Bai Xuan, and swung its sharp crimson scythes down at his neck.

Bai Xuan turned nimbly and met the attack with his Eagle Claw. A crisp sound of metal clashing followed, and the shockwave spread, knocking the surrounding Zerg back several meters. They barely managed to stabilize their bodies, glaring fiercely at Bai Xuan.

”Leader Blade, kill him.”

”A mere Blue Star beast dares to be so arrogant, really thinking of himself as someone important.”

”Hmph, Leader Blade possesses a Tier 5, Stage 8 level and a powerful bloodline; how could a tiny native of Blue Star like him resist? It is no different from seeking death.”

”Refusing a toast only to drink a forfeit. Giving you a chance was out of respect, yet you dared to refuse. Now it is too late to regret; it’s truly laughable.”

They roared in encouragement, very confident in their leader’s strength, believing that the leader would definitely be able to kill this arrogant Blue Star native.

”Your strength and reaction speed are quite good; it is a pity you won’t join us.” Blade felt regret, then swung with force, sending Bai Xuan flying and crashing heavily into the snowy mountain.

Blade opened its transparent wings and flapped them at high frequency. Its arm scythes flashed with purple and crimson light. It swung its scythes violently, and two ten-zhang slashes broke through the air, attacking in Bai Xuan’s direction. The speed was extremely fast, hitting the target in the blink of an eye.

At the foot of the snowy mountain, snow mist swirled, and not even the spiritual energy rain could disperse it.

The ice and snow, which had been gradually melting, formed a thick layer of frost that continued to spread toward the dense crowd of Zerg.

”To think he is still not dead.” Blade muttered to itself, then released its pressure, pushing back the incoming frost and confronting it head-on.

”You go and complete your mission; leave this Blue Star native to me.”

Blade twisted its neck and shook its forelimb scythes, preparing for a big battle.

Bai Xuan had indeed surprised it, and it wanted to test this newly born Tier 5 beast.

To be able to advance from an ordinary creature to a Tier 5 beast in the year or so since spiritual energy revived, he was certainly extraordinary, with the potential to advance to Tier 7 or even Tier 8 in the future. Such strength could rank in the upper-middle tier among the Zerg.

And since he could not be used by it, he would have to be strangled in the cradle.

”Yes, Leader Blade.” The Zerg replied respectfully.

Just as they were preparing to leave the central area to make room for Bai Xuan and Blade to fight.

A blast of Extreme Cold Breath rushed out from the foot of the snowy mountain, heading toward the Zerg who were preparing to leave. Seeing this, Blade teleported in front of the incoming breath, crossed its forelimb scythes, dug its eight legs into the ground, and flapped its wings at high frequency to achieve a propulsion effect.

It forcibly blocked the incoming Extreme Cold Breath. Bai Xuan’s attack once again shocked Blade: ”I didn’t expect you to also possess the ability to challenge those of a higher level.”

Then it turned its head to look at the Zerg behind it: ”Why haven’t you left yet?”

Staying would only drag Blade down. Precisely because of this, Blade planned to wait until they left the central area before going all out to kill Bai Xuan.

After all, the battle between Tier 5 beasts had great destructive power. They would not be able to withstand such attacks, and even the shockwaves could potentially kill them, causing them to die on the spot.

”Yes, Leader Blade.” The Zerg army no longer dragged their feet and used their fastest speed to leave the central area.

They also didn’t expect that Bai Xuan could make Leader Blade take him so seriously, but it was only slightly serious; he was destined to die at the hands of Leader Blade in the end.

This was what they believed.
