Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

137: Chapter 137 Bai Xuan left, puzzled.”Forget it. Hand over 60% of your resources and cede two-thirds of your territory; this is the only chance you have to survive. If you don’t agree, then don’t blame me for destroying the entire Eagle Country. And don’t count on nuclear weapons to threaten me. The surrounding countries are the same.

I believe with your capabilities, you should be able to handle it. If you can’t, I will go there personally, and by then, it won’t be something that can be resolved with a few words.”

Bai Xuan sighed; in the end, he chose to take 60% of the resources and let the matter of two-thirds of the territory slide.

At this moment, the two generals, General McCrae and Christine, also arrived at the scene.

All troops had been mobilized, prepared for a fight to the death, but now it seemed that would not be necessary. General McCrae spoke first:

”I request that Your Excellency Eagle Emperor lower your demands; otherwise, we will have no room left to survive.”

”Is two-thirds of the territory not enough for you to survive? Don’t push your luck. This is it—agree and live, or disagree and die.”

Bai Xuan’s tone was firm, leaving no room for concession.

Not wiping them out like the fierce beasts was already giving them enough face.

”Very well, we agree to your terms.” Upon hearing the message from his superiors, General McCrae breathed a sigh of relief. As long as they could agree readily, they wouldn’t have to die.

As long as the green hills remain, there is no need to worry about firewood. This was the only chance for Eagle Country to survive, and perhaps in the future, they could return to their peak and reclaim their territory.

The prerequisite was to survive, but resources were a major issue that would greatly affect the development of Eagle Country. This was the only area that needed resolution.

Solving it was quite simple: just plunder the surrounding countries or purchase from others. Eagle Country’s technology was still very impressive.

”Within seven days, resolve everything. Don’t make it too ugly when the time comes.”

After saying this, Bai Xuan flapped his wings, flew into the air, and headed toward the Far East Region.

Bai Xuan was somewhat annoyed now, specifically because of Bai Ya. The words she spoke deeply stung Bai Xuan’s heart, and she even used Mother Bai to threaten him. How could Bai Xuan not be angry?

However, he did not retort; instead, he negotiated the demands with a firm tone and left without looking back.

Seeing this scene, General Wang Zhuo finally felt his heart settle:

”That guy has finally left.”

”General Wang, thank you all for this.” General McCrae stepped forward and shook hands with General Wang Zhuo to thank him. If not for General Wang Zhuo, a real fight would have definitely broken out today.

”No need to thank me; it is only right for humans to help each other.” General Wang Zhuo spoke politely, though it was true—humans must unite now. Even if they couldn’t rule the world, they at least needed the ability to stand on equal footing with the fierce beasts.

”That fierce beast has long been bloodthirsty and must never be trusted. General Wang, you must also be on guard against them.”

General McCrae said with a bitter smile, not knowing what had gotten into that animal to cause such a scene, only for it to end with such an absurd result.

Never mind, as long as they could survive. The next steps involved relocation and handing over resources. Although very unwilling, there was no other way.

Those families would only pressure the government; even if they were given ten times the courage, they would never dare to confront Bai Xuan. At most, they would just curse behind his back.

This was the importance of power.

”Thank you for the reminder.” General Wang Zhuo nodded slightly.

”That said, why did that fierce beast change its decision in the end? It really is baffling.” General McCrae voiced the confusion in his heart.

This result was too hasty.

After all, one second they were about to fight, with all of Eagle Country’s nuclear weapons mobilized, ready for a desperate struggle, but the next second, the Eagle Emperor changed his decision, which caught them off guard and left them unable to fathom his motives.

”Forget about it; as long as he didn’t attack, that’s fine.” General Wang Zhuo smiled helplessly. He was also puzzled; he had been thinking of stalling for time to let Eagle Country’s personnel evacuate and minimize losses, but the next second, Bai Xuan changed his mind.

”Forget it, I won’t think about it anymore. In short, as long as we can survive, that’s enough. Furthermore, I must thank you all for your help. If there is a chance in the future, let’s keep in touch. Eagle Country always welcomes you as guests.”

General McCrae understood the current situation. With the Bear and Eagle countries having had a large amount of resources and territory seized, the Dragon Country now possessed the largest territory and the most resources within the human faction.

Naturally, they had to cooperate with the Dragon Country, keep in touch, barter goods, and help each other.

”We will. I hope we can cooperate happily in the future.” General Wang Zhuo laughed.

There were pros and cons. The pro was that Dragon Country was now the most powerful and promising in the human camp. The con was that the Bear and Eagle countries had been crippled, leaving the human camp severely damaged and widening the gap between them and the fierce beast camp.

”Yaya, that animal has left. We are safe now; you don’t need to be afraid.” Shi Xiaoyue saw that Bai Ya was a bit dazed and thought that this incident must have terrified her, so she began to comfort her.

”I’m fine.” Bai Ya shook her head gently. She was wondering if what she had said earlier was too hurtful and if Bai Xuan would be unhappy because of it.

But there was no other way. If Bai Xuan had been willing to stop from the beginning, she wouldn’t have said such hurtful words.

”Shi Xiaoyue, you all should go back first, and take good care of Bai Ya. Finally, don’t act on your own initiative again; at the very least, don’t bring Bai Ya to such a dangerous place.”

General Wang Zhuo rolled his eyes at Shi Xiaoyue. He naturally didn’t believe that Chen Jianguo would have allowed them to come here; they must have snuck over on their own. Once they returned, he would definitely have to teach them a lesson.

”Got it. I will take good care of Yaya. Also, we didn’t act on our own; Chen Jianguo allowed it.” Shi Xiaoyue pouted.

”You’re still being stubborn,” General Wang Zhuo said.

”We’re leaving now.” Shi Xiaoyue waved her hand to say goodbye.

Bai Ya also said goodbye to General Wang Zhuo and the others: ”General Wang, other seniors, we will be leaving now. Goodbye.”

Afterward, Shi Xiaoyue took Bai Ya onto the helicopter and left.

Seeing this scene, General Wang Zhuo felt very helpless. This young girl was really becoming more and more lawless. At the same time, he couldn’t understand why Bai Ya, this young girl, wanted to get involved in such a dangerous matter.

”General Wang, would you like to find a place to have a drink?” Christine stepped forward and invited him.

”Sure.” General Wang Zhuo nodded slightly and agreed. This time, he was also serving in a diplomatic capacity to discuss some matters with Eagle Country.

Currently, communication and trade between countries were very difficult. Satellites had all been destroyed during the last Zerg disaster, and maritime trade was threatened by oceanic fierce beasts.

To trade, it was necessary to improve the quality and attack power of ships, and at least three Tier 4 powerhouses were needed for escort. Even so, there was still a great risk, and once attacked, the losses would be huge. Moreover, Tier 4 powerhouses were not so easy to possess.

Just like that, General Wang Zhuo, the President of the Martial Artists Association, other Dragon Country martial artists, and Eagle Country’s Christine, General McCrae, and other senior officers departed.

As for the rest, the troops withdrew and redeployed.
