ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

When playing a game like ShanFro, you can sometimes get the illusion that the distance you are travelling across the sky or across the walls is far greater than the distance you could traverse on the ground.

I don’t think that the same could be said for the real world, but I have done so much wall-running and sky-crossing in this game that I have become well accustomed to this illusion.

“Zend Avesta” manages to push through the black and white void up to the bottom of the crevasse by pushing the destructive light aside, further accelerating the speed at which we were descending.

The speed at which a person can fall down is faster than you could imagine, but the things like Enhanced Visibility actually delays recognition timing and makes you oblivious to that fact.

「Make sure you won’t bite your tongue now, Rei-san!」

「R-Right!」

I kick the wall that’s acting as the floor in order to accelerate, and I kick the wall as well to decelerate. Deceleration while running vertically is way more difficult than accelerating on the same surface, but now I have lots of useful skills that allow me to change the direction of gravity itself. Not to mention aerial skills. And it does not even matter if I can use it only once due to the problem with the doubled Recast Time……

「Alright, now to stick the landing safely!」

「R-Right!」

Surprisingly enough, my HP did not decrease at all during our descent. I am even more impressed here since I was also carrying an extra baggage that was Rei-san…… Bu, it would seem that we are not out of the woods just yet. I was still holding Rei-san up, and once I started to hang her down, her body acted as if she just went off a roller coaster ride, her face being blue in color and her legs shaking like that of a newly born fawn.

「…… It surely was a little bit rough, but overall it wasn’t all that hard, was it?」

「Maybe…… a little bit…… Ahh, ehh, Iii……」

SLOMP! And with that Rei-san stops moving in an instant.

「Haah…… I’m fine. No problem…… no problem at all.」

「Huh? What’s that? An attempt at Kyogoku impression?」

「Fuhyu, fuuh…… I’m, I’m okay. It’s fine. I just need to…… calm down.」

While I was looking at Rei-san with a dubious expression she stood up firmly and regained her composure, doing that with a similar gesture to a certain someone who I was finding rather annoying for some mysterious reason. I then turned around towards the depths of the “Wound” to gaze at the place where we just arrived at.

Although the “Wound” itself is really big, being the depth of a small valley which is already pretty dangerous as is, but its overall size was surprisingly not all that big. If I were to give a raw estimate here…… It is about one hundred meters? Something like that.

「So, is that it? Is that the “Wound” in question?」

We were able to see it perfectly when we were landing on the ground here, but we also needed to adjust our landing point just a little bit so that we would be safe from the erupting black and white light in the future. It might have been a little bit overwhelming, but as long as we were able to see it, we were still in the danger zone. And with thing like that you can never be too safe. But as long as we won’t end up touching it, we should be in the clear.

And just like that, by calming the occasional light and heat eruptions with Rei-san’s “Zend Avestra”, we were finally able to see the origin point of the black and white light, being carved deep into the depth of the “Wound” in the ground.

「What’s that? Is that magma, perhaps……?」

「I don’t think it is. I can’t feel any heat coming off from it. However, it looks dangerous, so we’d better refrain from touching it for now.」

The Wound itself, that is, the very side of the land that was injured as a result of those swirling powers underneath it. And it can be speculated that this land used to be a part of the greater whole in the past. Of course, I am talking about the Old Continent here…… Because when you get down to it, it would turn out that in the past there was only one supercontinent here, and it was probably one of the primordial beasts as well. I would be surprised if that was not the case here.

And then we have the white wound itself, which is the result of a blow that the White God struck a blow against the Black God, which resulted in the injury that left a mark on this very land itself…… Leaving behind a magma-like substance or mud-like that extends as it is from the crevasse and escapes into the world above.

「This thing feels like its half-liquid, so it would be safe to assume that you can “soak” something in it. So that would be the condition that we are looking for right now.」

「Yes, it would seem that way, but…… But I can’t shake off the feeling that there is going to be battle of some sort shortly in here……」

「Seriously now?」

…… Hmm, I see. It seems that the moment Rei-san obtained this sword, she was forced into a tough encounter as a result of it. And if that was the case, it would not be all that strange to assume that a similar thing could happen here at this time as well. It would be common sense.

「…… But, maybe there will be no fight in here. At least I think there won’t be.」

「Huh? Why?」

「Because this whole area is way too small and way too long for that.」

It’s not to say that this particular terrain is impossible to have a battle in, but ten meters sure is a small number when compared to, let’s say, one hundred meters. And yes, the fact that it is narrow is a huge problem.. And that is without mentioning that as a battle arena, this place would be way too hard to move around in.

It could theoretically work only in case if the Player and the monster started at each end of this passage, and they would approach one another while shooting with long-distance weapons.

And then I remembered something really important. I then took a glance across this entire room and did some eye measurements. Basically, when it comes to this game, you can expect that the room you have just walked into is going to be a battle arena if it is at least twenty meters by twenty meters in size. Therefore, it is hard for me to think that a battle would occur in such a unique space.
