ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

Now it’s time for a trivia round, ladies and gentlemen! Here, the question is as follows: what is going to happen if you were to physically remove the cooling mechanism from any kind of electronic device? Take your time to answer that question, and in the meantime, please enjoy a little hint in the form of the Combustic Chameleon that is right in front of me!

「…………」

「No, there is no way that it is going to be able to heal something quite like that.」

「I kind of get what you mean. It does look a little bit pitiful, I’m not going to lie…… And I get it that for you as the owner of the Holy Wand it must be even more difficult than for any one of us out there. But let’s just not get ahead of ourselves, shall we?」

Well, at first I was about to completely ignore that monster and carry on just like that, but it is also kind of true that as the one who caused it to become like that and basically sentenced this monster to be boiled alive, I do find myself a little bit guilty. But just a little bit. We were just standing here and watching it writhe in agony, but gradually its movements started to slow and die down…… What is this feeling that I can feel inside of my chest right now? But be that as it may, this is this, and that is that. End of story.

In the real world, human beings are primates, first and foremost, one of the absolute top of the food chain. However, here in the world of ShangriLa Frontier that is not the case. I mean, not always. Because there are still creatures in this world that are way more powerful than any human being could ever possibly hope to become, and then are some creatures that humans could not possibly hope to defeat, even if we were to use the high-caliber guns or heavy weaponry. Therefore, there is no need for compassion for the monsters that are roaming the wilderness, because we would certainly not experience it back from those things. Not in a million years. …… But that being said, there are some things that even someone like me is unable to witness. One of those things is seeing a creature like that being slowly boiled alive by its own increasing body temperature.

「Alright, it’s not exactly my cup of tea, but let’s just put this thing out of its misery. But only this once, you hear me?」

「Umm, are you possibly going to use one of your Avenger skills to give it a swift death?」

No, I’m not. Certainly, I do have a skill that would allow me for something like that, because it has the highest one-shot power and potential, at least as far as Fist Weapons are concerned. But that would require me to touch it with my bare hands, and if I were to do that, I would die instantly. I also can’t use the ammunition here, because it would melt away before it would be able to reach its mark.

「Pray that you become a lot cooler creature in the next life, Namu Amida Butsu!」

Fist-Type Skill “Victory God Attack “Vurs Laguna Smasher”. After accumulating enough strengthening skills, the damage value calculated when hitting an attack is increased twice over……In other words, it is a dangerous type of a punch that hits the opponent with a strength of three consecutive punches locked in a single punch.

By combining this with The Forerunner, a Pioneer of Victory derived from Parabellum Routine, and Stratum Buster, derived from Critical Ray, this slightly dangerous beat-down combo is now completed and ready to be unleashed.

…… While I am looking away from the fact that there will most probably be enemies on which I will have to use these skills many times in the future, I pick up the fallen drop items after making sure that every single last bit of Combustic chameleon shattered and disappeared due to its HP reaching the value of zero.

Including Sigma and Ladder-san, our party has six members. There aren’t that many materials that have fallen out of this monster, but the tail material has dropped properly because the part was destroyed. And that’s all I could ask in here.

「…… Hey, that’s actually quite nice. It’s a material that increases its hardness only while it’s cold? Ice-based weapons are rare thing to come by, so it’s good to make a sword that improves performance when cooled when combined with some rare ore. Oh, I can already feel my brain starting to work full throttle, just thinking of all the possibilities to use this thing……」

While looking away from the girl in an old man’s avatar whose role-play ability was starting to crumble away before our very eyes, I turned my eyes towards the end of the wilderness that awaited us after we crossed the river.

「Ooh, ooh, it’s a lively active volcano! Is that perhaps our destination?」

Gray smoke mixes with the clouds in the sky to form dark clouds. When I put my finger forward to touch some particle that was hanging in the air here, I could see that the thing on the top of my finger was actually a sooth of grey ash.

「Is that perhaps your destination?」

「Affirmative: That place is the Sekiryu Graveyard Volcano, a birthplace of the Red Dragon. We, the Conquest Dolls, tried many times to investigate that place, but the Red Dragon always prevented us from getting much of that work done. Normally, it is a place where the Red Dragons are born and where they go to die, but……」

The place where the Red Dragon is born and dies? I think it’s worth the effort to investigate this matter a little bit……

「Say, Rei-san? That red dragon that was present during the battle at the frontline base was called the Red Howl, right? Of the current dragon generation?」

「Yes, I believe that this is the case.」

「Natsu-san, can you confirm something for us? That dude is already dead, isn’t that right?」

「Yes, that is correct.」

「Next, Imron-san. In other word, this place should be somewhat similar to a last dungeon, but without the Demon Lord waiting for us at the very end of it, right? Am I on the right track here?」

「Yes, that is most certainly correct.」

…… Hmm, doesn’t that actually reek of a shitty game? I can’t shake of the feeling that this is actually the case when it comes to what is going on in here right now.
