ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

He grasped the kodachi that he held in the opposite hand, and activated the dagger skill “Prop Slash” aiming at the leg joint of the horse part of the human-horse hybrid that was rushing his way, the light of the activating skill shining bright.

The left front leg of “Lost Memory” bent, but the horse has four legs, two in the front and two in the back. This is far better in terms of balance than that of a human being’s two legs. However, knowing that, he flipped the kodachi that he was holding in his hand…… In other words, when you holds it like this, it will be able to slide in an entirely different way, its blade covered in bright silver light.

「I’ll create an opening, and then you go onto the offensive!」

「Alright! Heard that, JUMP!? Yuki is going to give us an opening, so come one and help out as well!」

「Leave it to me!」

「…… I’m sorry, but we can’t give up just yet.」

At that moment, the small sword held by the female warrior named Yuki started to be covered in lightning. A weapon called “kodachi”, which is neither a dagger nor a sword, is a weapon type that can handle not only dagger skills but also sword skills. But the downside of that is that the damage multiplier is lower than if you were to use the respective weapon.

Therefore, the sword-type skill “Kamihedachi” that was released from the kodachi is fully powered up to temporarily paralyze the target by hitting its limbs, but the effect is still strong enough to knock it off balance for a single moment.

The balance of the left front leg of the monster was disturbed by the “support leg breaking due to Prop Slash”, and the left hind leg was paralyzed by the Kamihedachi, otherwise known as the “Nerve Cutter”.

Another man has been “preparing” in the backline for a long time now, and now he was overtaking the other four people, closing the gap with the opportunity that the others created, getting ready to swing up at his prey. His blade was heavy and thick, and above all else, it was shaking the atmosphere as if it was unbearable to release the “Power” that has been accumulated for several minutes within it.

「…… “Exakunosison”!!!」

ZUGON!!!!!!!!! The blade was struck with a terrible noise, cutting off the head made out of flames of “Lost Memory” and was dropped onto the ground, clearly separated from its main body.

For a moment, there was also a feeling as if the heavy blade managed to smash something deep inside of its chest, breaking the strange creature to pieces. But only the warrior who struck that blow was able to perceive it.

The other four attacked in succession, but only the man knew. They have all though that this was supposed to be the finishing blow, but……

「……………!!!」

The black flames that were burning even in the middle of watery prison were now getting extinguished, and the flaming head of “Lost Memory” with the expression of pure anguish disappeared as if it was withering. At the same time, the tattered armor collapsed on the spot…… Finally, its hand stretched out as if trying to grasp onto something, but it disappeared before it was able to do just that.

「The Extraordinary Monster Hunt…… Cleared!」

「Subjugation Target: Lost Skeleton General Dullahan “Lost Memory”.」

「Extraordinary Monster Have Been Defeated.」

「You Have Obtained the Title of “Hand That Never Reaches”.」

「You Have Obtained the Title of “Recollection”.」

「You Have Mastered the Extraordinary Skill “Lost Memory”.」

An announcement is displayed in front of them, informing them that they have defeated the Extraordinary Monster, and the players who realize that everything has been settled let out a sigh of relief before they started to pick up the Drop Items that were scattered all over the ground, their hearts filled with accomplishment, but also a feeling of grudge.

「Alright, nice work, everyone~.」

「God damn it, stop acting all cool after you just narrowly managed to dodge getting us all killed……!!」

「Now, now, I admit it, it didn’t quite went the way I envisioned it, but betting on Gull-san’s back and turning it to the main axis of the blow was a bull’s eye! And the probability of stabbing it was the highest that was, so cut me some slack, will you…… Ohh shit, it’s been already half a day? Can I log out once really quick, guys? If I don’t get another shot, my hands are going to start to tremble like crazy.」

「You know, I don’t really mind, Haze, but you should definitely do something about that caffeine addiction of yours.」

「Ahh, whatever you say…… But I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for the next thing!」

A man with gray fur clothes and a cloud-like fur waist cloak finished putting the items he picked up in his inventory and stood up to announce his plans to the rest of the group.

「Next? What next thing? A stream, perhaps?」

「No, I’m heading towards Tenbert. I’m aiming to defeat that Tri-Headed Quasi Triatholn monster there.」

「Alright then, is it okay if we were to meet at Tenbert in about thirty minutes or so?」

「Yuki, one vote in favor of that plan.」

「Do we have anyone who wishes to oppose that plan?」

No one raised their hand to Liberty’s words. They are friends through and through, no matter if it’s real life or a game…… Especially when it comes to private gaming sessions, doing things that would not end up being shown on stream.

「But I must say, that’s one hell of an Extraordinary Marathon. What do we know about that Monster? It’s name doesn’t really say anything.」

「I heard that it’s one monster with three bodies, but we would need some more information…… I can go and meet with an information broker, but what are you going to do in the meantime?」

It was Yuki, who had confirmed the durability of the kodachi, who shook her head to those words.

「I’ve always said that I’m not good at that kind of thing, and it’s still the same for me right now.」

「Yuki, even though your equipment is so flashy, you’re still not good with talking to strangers or going to unfamiliar places?」

「JUMP, I have figured out a new special technique just the other day, want to help me test it out? And how FLASHY it can be?」

「Yeah, I’d like to live to see the other day, so I’m afraid that I’ll have to pass for now.」

「A new technique?」

The five players headed to the nearest city to take a break while having a casual conversation about nothing all that important.

「But what are you supposed to do to prepare for something like that?」

「…… What would you like to do to prepare?」

In response to JUMP’s question when he tried to deliver that line in a cool way, the lean man who had the name “Gall” whispered while lifting his mouth slightly.

「You’d probably need to have your level maxed out, wouldn’t you agree?」

Time goes on steadily. And the preparations of those who move alongside the passing of time are also steadily prepared for what’s to come ───
