ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

In the first place, not only the tongue is heated up, that would be way too convenient here. The heat concentrates on the tongue while the whole body heats up as well, and the body surface of this monster is presumably so hot that if you were to try and touch it with your bare hands it would end up causing you damage. The specification of this lizard is so troublesome that it might actually be really hard for us to get a crack at it.

Sigma and I are launching a long-range attacks with our guns, but it’s not enough to make a decisive strike…… Honestly, I don’t know what to say about the fact that there are normal monsters out there that are so crazy powerful and durable, and they are not even Rare of Extraordinary! However, even if you subtract that fact, if you approach it and just try to attack it, you would need to equip heat resistant armor.

So overall, this is basically a compatibility issue here. And that’s even bigger drag than any monster that just has lots of HP, but at least comes with no tricks like that heat. And seeing that it is not running away, it’s no pushover, either. Then the Carved Wounds would have kicked into effect and it would just run away.

「Whoa! That was too close for comfort!」

The biggest threat is that Quick Draw attack that sticks out the tongue contained in the mouth vigorously, but the risk of being hit is higher if the monster makes with it a motion similar to turning its tongue into a whip by moving the neck without returning it. Even though my skills are almost blocked by the effect of the Reverse Arcana position, if I use the skill only for avoidance, I can never hope to defeat an opponent like that.

Not limited to ShanFro, it’s almost an unspoken rule that being big also makes you extremely strong. Even if Rei-san has extremely high firepower, this is not an opponent that can beaten while struggling alone. However, the strength of the avatar, Sanraku, is that it can be reinforced with equipment even if I do not have skills at my disposal. What is required here is extreme instantaneous power, activating Levin Trigger / Disaster Hand, and observing the movement of the chameleon with my own eyes.

「……………」

ShanFro is still just a game, and even that Luukan bastard had a preliminary action before the attack. Hell, even that Wezaemon with his array of instant death attacks had preliminary movements to signal its attacks…… There! I see it! I see it! The moment when the closed mouth swells slightly! That’s our cue!

「Watch out! Dodge, quick!」

「Huh? Geh!?」

Whoa, what the hell!? It aimed for Imron all of a sudden!? And not to mention that Imron suffered a direct hit just now!? And do my eyes deceive me, or did I just witnessed Imron getting roasted into charcoal in an instant only to appear perfectly normal in the very next moment!? So, does that mean that it was just an illusion? Or maybe I’m just tired?

「The cost of this action is really heavy, but it’s really nice to be able to recover easily even if you happen to kick the bucket. But the speed of that attack is something else entirely, I don’t like just how quickly it goes from a ranged attack to a close quarters move.」

「T-Thanks a lot. T-That surely was what I would call a lifesaver……」

Whoa, Natsu-san! That’s actually amazing! Did you just happened to cast the Recovery Magic on Imron right as she was about to die, so she actually didn’t die!? Or could it be that you timed your magic to set off right as the attack of that chameleon connected with Imron!? And from that range as well!? That’s something that no one would be able to pull off! At least not all that easily!

While Natsu-san started to recover her MP in a hurry, both Rei-san and I stepped into the front line, focusing the aggro of the Combustic Chameleon onto ourselves. All this time, the rest of the party supported us from the back and Sigma continued shooting from the backlines as well. Light bullets can’t do much damage to a heavily armored monster like that, so Sigma switched to a single-shot, but powerful bullet blasts that could obscure its movements. Thanks to all those actions the monster AI was gradually switching its focus, understanding that if it wanted to kill someone in here, then both Reii-san and I were its best bet. Especially since we were currently the main sources of damage here.

「Alright! Let’s see how you are going to like this!?」」

Oh, you vile reptile! Is there a reason why you are fighting so fiercely!? Is it because we are humans, primates that stand way above you on the evolutionary ladder? You are moving much faster and are more agile than us, so the only way in which I could hope to compensate for that would be through the Overflow state. But with those eyes of a chameleon, I think that using Overflow here would be equal to committing suicide. But that being said, I also have other ways of moving forward, even without my OP skills!

「S-Sanraku—kun! Umm, l-look! Right there, that creature’s tail……」

「Huh? It’s tail? What about it?」

Huh, well now, that’s certainly strange, wouldn’t you say? It would seem that the entire body of this giant chameleon is being heated up to the point of small flames and steam emanating from every inch of its skin. That is, every single inch of its skin besides the very tip of its tail. That part does not emanate steam, and it looks perfectly normal and ordinary to me. Maybe it’s just going into cooldown? That’s always a possibility with things like that. Or maybe that is the only place on its entire body that prevents this chameleon from overheating and boiling itself alive. But for an important organ like that to be located right on its tail…… Huh? Wait just a moment, that’s it!

「Rei-san! Let’s aim for that stop using our strongest cutting weapons! We might be able to pull this off, after all!」

「Understood! Right behind you!」

Hmm, yes, I see, I see, I see it. Ah, that’s right, I get it. No, do I really get it? Yes! This thing is actually quite an elaborate little bugger, huh? But then again, nothing is ever going to hide from me! At least not for long! Now then, dear costumer…… How about we get those muscles of yours nice and warmed up before we actually get to the main treatment? Here it goes! My special acupuncture service! Of course, the tool used to carry that service is going to be none other than Aradval Rebuild itself! Now let’s just do it!!!
