ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

「Well, I want to avoid unnecessary battles as much as possible, so let’s move forward in a hurry, okay?」

…

………

……………

This Sea of Trees area is both wide and really long, so no matter how hard you try to run through it without encountering any monster alongside the way, it is a troublesome area where you will eventually encounter one of the three-headed Tyrannosauruses sooner or later. But that being said, there are still moment where you can have a bunch of free time on your hands, so you can use it up on small and wholesome stuff that a group of players would usually do in between battles while being on their journey.

In this game, the horrifying thing is that if you walk a certain number of steps, the more monsters are going to be gradually gravitating towards your location. First individually, then in larger and larger packs. So if you were to start with a single encounter, then the surrounding monsters may start coming after you in greater numbers, until you are basically going to become overwhelmed. And that is a kind of situation that we would all pretty much like to avoid if we could help it. And right about now there was exactly a situation similar to that one described above.

「So, care to share it with us?」

「Share? Share what, exactly?」

「Orchestra’s rewards, those are not only just truth books, am I right?」

「……………」

I look away hearing Imron’s words while squinting my eyes as much as possible. I was prepared to be asked about that stuff, but it is a fact that I don’t want to remember much now. Like I said before, at the current moment my setting is that I suffer from a shot term memory loss.

「Well, come on now, don’t be so angry! Look, I’m a Player who happens to be one of the best blacksmiths around this game. So the least you could do to repay my kindness for joining you on this journey is to share some information, wouldn’t you agree? Oh, but just so you know, I was asking those Library fellows about the rewards from the Pseudonym Orchestra as well.」

No, that’s is precisely the reason why I’m worried about the canonical reward. I knew that the rewards were going to be different between the fake and the canon, but … oh well, I guess that there is no way in which I can weasel my way out of this one.

「This. I got this thing.」

「What’s that supposed to be? Is that a Plague Doctor mask? It’s a really bad taste of the developers to make it gold in color.」

You can say that all you want now when it comes to its appearance. But when you equip it on your face, then you are going to witness its true worth……

Bobo!! Bobo!! Bobo!!

「Uwah! Gross! What the hell is this!? It’s gross as all hell!!」

「Isn’t it just way too terrible?」

Right now, it was not Imron, but Nutsu-san who said those words. Imron is curious about unknown head equipment that I presented to her, so the moment I wear a golden plague doctor mask on my face, it was this that took priority over the fact that that the eye sockets of this mask were filled with bright balls of flames. So she would never have the attention to proclaim it disgusting herself. But I guess that it was something that needed to be pointed out, and someone had to do it.

「I knew it. After all, there are too many non-production equipment that I do not know how to reproduce in this game! And it’s only because of the degree of freedom that one can take when creating their own pieces of equipment in this game! It’s way too high……」

「Well, that is certainly one way in which you could look at it. But what is with those eyes? Could it be that each one has its own unique field of vision or something like that?」

「Ah, that’s actually a pretty sharp observation on your end, Natsu-san! I have actually verified this in various ways, but if some” eyes “aren’t blocked, even if the eyes of the main body are crushed, the view will not be blocked at all!」

I thought that this simple fact would make that mask virtually an invincible item, but if the field of vision is crushed by a flash like a flash bang, other flames will be affected as well. So it is not invincible in terms of vision.

「Well, I’m not equipping it right now because it’s a little difficult to use for me at the current moment……」

Quantum Gaze, the True World Observation Eye, and Astral Line, the Star-Ghost World Lead Wire, have evolved into new skills as soon as I have reached level one hundred fifty. But the Recast Time is getting longer as the effect time increases. In other words, at the Recast Time that is four times as much as the current experience, the “Migratory Bird Mask” that is effective by the number of times the visual system skill is activated cannot be utilized properly, so it is a fertilizer for my inventory for now.

While talking about such things, the trees that make up the Sea of Trees area gradually started to shift from thick and tall to low and thin, and before we even knew it, the ground changes from the softness of humus to the moist and slimy mud ground.

「My dear swamp! So nostalgic! My dear, beloved swamp! Oh, how I missed you all this time……!」

While listening to Ladder-san’s mellow mutterings, we breathes in the muddy and moist air that has been reproduced to the extent that is simply unusual for any other VR game out there.

「This is my first time actually coming here. And I must say, this place is really something.」

「M-Me too…… This is my very first visit to a place quite like that……」

This swamp may be murky as all hell, but it still manages to reflect the light of the stars shining in the night sky. That being said, the wastness spreading in front of our eyes seems to be even wider and more moist than the swamp wilderness of the Old World. It is really a fantastic sight, one that you would hardly be able to witness in the real world, no matter where you would go to seek it out.

ZABAH!!!

There was a huge crab appearing from under the blanket of mud, destroying all the afterglow that was here only a second ago.

I don’t really have the time and luxury to be dealing with some crustaceans like you right now! I’ll make a crab pot out of you asshole even if I will have to suffer the full wrath of the entire Reversed Arcana of the “Fool” right now!
