ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

I don’t know about that…… We know only Galatena so far, but I get a feeling that the Miner Dwarves might be just like their cousins, the Forest Dwarves..

In this world where the humanoid beings are not guaranteed to be primates first and foremost, it would be small wonder if some of the races were to exhibit more animalistic sides than anything else……

* * *

I don’t get it. I really don’t. Can someone please explain to me what the hell is actually going on in here?

「Booze! Bring the booze here! Ahahahaha!!! Open the barrels! This is the moment that we have been all waiting for!」

「This is it! It’s time for a feast! Let’s drink! Let eat! And then let’s drink some more! If this isn’t the time to be merry, then when would that be!?」

「Wooooooooo!!!!!! Hyoooooohhhhhh! Waaaaaahhh!!!」

The Red Dragon Red Howl is dead. That much is certain.

At first when Galatena related the information that we provided her with to her brethren, they were highly suspicious of us, and for a good reason, I’d say. However, there was something that we could easily do to dispel their wariness and prove our words to be true at the same time: it was simply by showing to them “Red Dragon’s Demon Bacteria”, one of the possible rewards that the Player’s have obtained after successfully subduing the Red Dragon Red Howl in battle. And needless to say, we are doing all that while inside of the Miner Dwarves city – the underground city of Holvalkin. And also needless to say, after confirming our words to be true, the whole city was basically engulfed in the craziest frenzy that we have ever seen.

To say that the gap between their current behavior and the one from about a moment ago was huge would be an understatement. A moment ago they were all aphetic and looked as though there was no life in them whatsoever. But right about now they became loud and obnoxious, calling for food and booze as if they were about to throw the greatest party the world has ever seen. Obviously, the change was so sudden and so quick that we could not comprehend it well for the first few seconds, so we were just kind of standing right in the middle of the crazed crowd, exchanging the looks of pure astonishment between ourselves. And then the questions started to flow. A whole lot of them, all wanting to know what exactly had happened with the Red Dragon and everything surrounding that particular topic.

「What are we going to do about this? I guess that the original purpose of this visit was to probably go and see the head of the state or the leader of the Miner Dwarves, but……」

「Hmm, that’s some really good stuff, you know? It tastes almost like sweet potato shochu, but it’s actually even better? Is that even possible?」

「Hey, we still technically have a job to do that needs being taken care of. So can you actually refrain from drinking for now?」

「I guess that since this is still ShanFro, the taste would actually be kind of bland, and since this is still a game there is no usual feeling of your brain being melted away by the burning kick of the alcohol, huh? So it’s almost the exact experience, but at the same time something completely different, huh?」

For the first time in my life, I have heard the expression that the brain is roasted and melted because of the effects of alcohol. Human brain mass is not a marshmallow, isn’t it? It couldn’t possibly be roasted or melted away, could it?

「For the time being, can we just find a place where we can collect our thoughts and discuss some things in peace and quiet? Look, we can see that those guys are nice people and all that, however……」

「However?」

「At this rate Tsuchinoko-san is going to be glued in place and unable to get away from here, seeing how things are proceeding.」

Huh? But why……? But it was also right here and right now that I have come to realize something crucial. Something that managed to elude me up until that point in time.

What is currently sitting strapped onto my waist is none other than Aradval Rebuild. And what is Aradval Rebuild, you may ask? Well, it is the sword of the legendary dragon slayer, or at the very least that’s something I was led to believe. And at the same time, it also happens to be the sword that played a huge part in taking down the Red Dragon Red Howl during the battle with the Colored Dragons at the frontline base. So it would only seem plausible that Galatena (and other Miner Dwarves at that) would like to know as much about that sword and the events it took part in as possible. And that they would most probably not let me go until I have spilled all the beans about it. Which is not exactly something that I would like to do right about now.

At first I was thinking that it’s only in my head and that there is no way that this can be true. But then I have come to realize that Galatena, who was a Miner Dwarf adult (not as blatantly short as the Forest Dwarf, but with the height that felt just about right to call him a nice and petite old man, but with arms that seemed to be made out full metal) was pointing with his finger towards Aradval Rebuild all the time, the look in his eyes demanding information. So no, it was not only my imagination. So it would seem that I was once again driven into a corner, and this time around there would be no escape without actually sharing at least some portion of my knowledge and experiences.

In other words, in the eyes of the Miner Dwarves I am currently someone like a great Hero, or at least some sort of a VIP. Mostly because they said that I am “One of the people who faced the Red Dragon Red Howl in battle and lived to tell the tale”. And while I was being surrounded by more and more Miner Dwarves who demanded to know more about it and were nagging me for more details, I had no other choice but to result to one of the secret techniques of social life that I happened to pick up in some other game in the past: if you don’t want people to be constantly nagging at you, just raise your glass, blow a toast and make everyone else feel inclined to drink up as well. And then you basically repeat this short process until eventually everyone else around you is piss drunk. That would allow me to escape from those pesky little Dwarves that wanted to hear the whole story, but it would sure be nice to at least have a decoy that would cover for me in here. But that being said, I need to make them drunk enough so that I can at least catch up with Natsu-san…… God damn you, Natsu-san! This is all your fault! Don’t ever think, not even for a moment, that I am going to forget about this!
