ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

When landing back on the ground, I should be falling down alongside the inertia as it is, so any further pursuit of the tail that goes away while I do so is temporarily out of the question…… It is shallow wound that we managed to make, and the tail that was swung from left to right I managed to avoid it by jumping, so the attack on the tail that was aimed directly at me was completely missed. However, inside of that slow-motion world, Rei-san, who managed to obtain a whole lot more frail form than before thanks to the conquest of the Behemoth, rushes past me.

But what was in her hands was no longer her usual greatsword or Warhammer, but rather a long and thick golden rod that had thorns growing all over its surface, radiating some rather serious killing intent…… Wait, a golden rod?

Now that I take a closer look at Rei-san, her armor has also undergone a major makeover. It was no longer that fleshy demon-looking thing she was wearing before, but something you would much rather see a seasoned warrior wearing, with its individual parts fashioned after a demon of some sort. I have seen it sometimes before, it’s like the one she used when we were undertaking the fight with Kutanid of the Abyss……

「───」

During the acceleration process of recognition, the surrounding voices can be recognized only as sound, and that is not all that great of a help. So I don’t know exactly what Rei-san said to me just know, but the only thing I can say is that Rei-san went forward without hesitation to protect me, but it was actually to have something in her mind that was way more aggressive than a simple defense move.

Bright light illuminates the golden rod. It’s not just skill, Rei-san must have also chant something, and that something was most probably magic Simultaneous use of magic and skill, anyone can do it, but it’s a trick that even someone as myself cannot use all that easily. It is something that requires a whole lot of practice to nail down just right. But what is that magic…… No, wait! Something comes out of Rei-san’s inventory! A Disposable Magic Scroll! …… Triple Strengthening!

Whether it was remade from something else or custom-made for Rei-san specifically, the thunder, the flames, the fog and the steam are all clinging to the golden rod that the female Onimusha was brandishing at the current moment.

Swinging one’s tail is basically a motion that engages the entire body of the creature that is doing it, and it does not end with the attack itself, but also includes its aftermath. That is, the end of the attack itself is the movement of the tail returning to the original place from which it started its movement.

And now, Mr. Ray is in the position where the tail is going to be coming back. The momentum of the tail swung by a giant-sized reptile can easily blow us away even if it is a weak movement at the end of the motion. But……

「─── !!!」

Is this the name of some magic? Or maybe the name of a skill? Or maybe even a mere warcry? The one that gets you instantly pumped up for battle? At the moment when the golden rod is swung down and collides with the tail approaching the two of us, the golden rod releases all of its pent-up power against the thing that is easily more than three times its own size.

The counter mechanism is activated in response to the impact, and there is a bright light of the special effect. The moment the tail and the golden rod collide, the explosion bursts forth, and then the lightning bolt bites into Rei-san’s arm like a huge and long thorn. Is it a strengthening system of some sort? At that moment Rei-san’s pushing force was increased tremendously. So much that even I was able to tell.

And then finally, at almost the exact same timing as the flame that started to come out…… That is, the moment when the tail and the gold rod collide with one another, the fog that was gathered from the collision of both the flame and the thunder explodes like a fantastical storm!

The detonation of this violent concoction is then inflamed even more brutally by the resulting strength of lightning and the explosion of air around the place of contact. It is just a meticulously planned and combined “combo attack”. And it was only Rei-san who would be able to come up with something quite like this, and none other. I mean, that is exactly what you should expect from someone who carries the title of “Maximum Firepower”. And you can be certain that this title is not only for show here.

That’s it! That’s what I have been waiting for! A win opportunity!!

By pushing the explosive waves of flames that was increased in scale by the strong wind that was blowing with the arm strengthened by light of Black Thunder, I thrust Aradval Rebuild into the tail of the Combustic Chameleon, and this time around I was sure of it! The blade did manage to scratch against the bare bone!

And that is not just your old regular stab, either! It’s a Piercing Skill that has evolved from the ”Sharp Connection Point” skill when it managed to reach level one hundred fifty and change forms as a result! Now it is known as a “Shining Sting”!

This skill actually has only a single, very simple effect. But at the same time, that’s what makes it to be the strongest out there. And that is because……

「It makes my Critical Hit multiplier way too high for my own good!」

It was then at that exact moment that the world of the slowed-motion rapidly started to return to its usual speed.

At the current moment Aradval Rebuild feels as though it was made out of a thick rubber, and that rubber sword was currently piercing the chilled tail of the monstrous chameleon in a straight line, a lone streak of silver against the monstrous reptile.

And then what followed was the feeling of my sword gradually breaking through the scales and flesh, penetrating both of those things as easily as a hot knife goes through warm butter.

「Just so you know for your own good! I seriously hope that you are going to drop some sweet, rare materials unique to that part of your body that we have just destroyed! Otherwise I am going to be very mad with you, and you don’t want that to happen!」

Just then, the dragon-slaying flame sword swings one more time and completely cuts off the monster chameleon’s tail, making it trace almost a perfect arc in mid-air.
